I was just wondering what lolitas like to eat/drink, that's healthy or just tastes really yummy.
Because my mom is gone from home so often, I have to take whatever food is laying around. I've been trying to eat a lot more fruits and things with soy lately. I wish that my mom took me grocery shopping with her more often so I could find things that were also good to eat. I'm trying to maintain my weight. @_@
I want to start baking and cooking more, it's just that looking through thousands of recipes on online sites and in cookbooks is overwhelming. So is there any special dishes or deserts that you love to make and eat?
So, I guess I'll set up a little discussion description thing.
Let's discuss: - Your favorite foods and drinks - Healthy foods or drinks that make you feel good - Good alternatives to snacking on junk food - Baking, cooking - Recipes
and other things to that nature.
Anyone care to contribute? ^_^
I hope I put this in the right place, because I was aiming for more of a "be healthy" kind of thing. And since there was a topic here about health and weight, I thought it would be similar. But if it's wrong, please move it. ^^;;;

Tea. And lots of it. It's like water, but with flavor and antioxidants. <3

Yus, tea is essential. ^^
I try to drink as much green tea as I can because of how healthy it is. But I've just about lost my ability to taste it because I've had it so much. Gotta find the real strong stuff. There has to better kinds out there. ;o;

I like white tea. I find that it tends to be sweeter (naturally that is)

Good idea! A lolita cook book would be brilliant.
We should all find good recipes that would be both elegant and scrumptious (looking and tasting), or find ways of modifying ordinary recipes to make them lolita-esque (example: adding things to make them sweeter, or color like with frosting or something.)
And we'd have to add reviews of teas and such for everyone's reference. Because lolitas should not go without tea. ^^

I love that tea. Never really had any milk or sugar with it though. I always drink my tea plain.

I agree with everyone that tea is the best. heart
I love to eat fruit scones, with the large sugar crystals on top.
Snackies~ You know Miwako's "special medicine"? Sugar stars are the best, and so cute. Cakes are obvious, but there was a recipie in a GL bible with two little cakes in the shape of angel wings. There are lots of ways to lolita those up.
And.... Strawberries! Tons of them! I like arranging little colorful plates of fruit with melon, kiwi, strawberries, ect.
I shall find my uberly delicious scone recipie. whee

These recipies are from my middle school cooking class, so they should be easy. I don't think any of them are healthy though. sweatdrop
(for now I only have time to post one)
Scones:
1 3/4c. flour 2 1/4 t. baking powder 3 T sugar 1.2 t. salt 1/4 c. margarine 2 eggs 1/3 c. cream
1/4 c. raspberries (or any berry, washed and dried) 2 currants 2 t. minced orange peel
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees 2. Sift then measure flour. Combine with baking powder, sugar and salt. 3. Use pastry cutter to cut margarine into flour until it is the texture of cornmeal. 4. Beat eggs. Save 2 T. of egg. Beat cream into the rest of the eggs. 5. Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. 6. Divide mixture in half. Add raspberries to one half and currant and oranges into the other half. 7. Spoon 3-4 biscuits of each kind onto ungreased cookie sheet. Top with remaining egg mixture and sprinkle with small amount of sugar. 8. Bake for 8-12 minutes.
