It seemed that the area was becoming more and more dangerous, and the things that came around more and more frequent. Had they always been here, or were they drawn here?
Whatever the case, he still felt that strong pull that he was searching for something, and despite how safe it felt in the Shrine, he couldn't stay there. Venturing out was becoming a trial on it's own, as even going a little ways out resulted in something coming out of the waters.
Again, a lumbering shape of a creature moved it's way out of the waters. Dripping, the creature clicked and clunked about before swiping out at him. Not one to be done in just yet, he went to try and break a limb, but it didn't work. It had never occurred to Linswo that there could be other things lurking in the area, but that was probably why he was in Longing and not in Paranoia. Unlike the others, he had been fortunate (or unfortunate?) enough to not encounter any creatures. At least, not until now. He stopped in his tracks when he noticed a rather odd creature with multiple appendages. "That...is that normal?" he asked no one in particular as he continued to stare at it warily.
And then it attacked him.

Naian hadn't really intended to wander into a dangerous place... it had just happened. But when she saw that figure, shambling towards her on those awful long limbs, she shrieked and ran. And then she fell. And then she just kind of laid there, feeling absolutely overwhelmed. He wasn't sure he entirely knew what was going on, but it seemed like the best thing to do would be to help out the grey beings around him.

He turned, noticing some gray figures he hadn't noticed before panic around him. "Be careful! It comes after you." Whatever IT was, he wasn't sure. All he knew was that they went to him whenever he thought he was alone, and that they were aggressive.
Seeing as the group seemed a bit shaky on their feet, he continued where he was to keep the thing away. He kicked at one of it's weak legs, causing it to tumble to the side but then rise up again, hobbling it's way to them. Something whacked against the side of his head. Rune gave a pout, stumbling around a little. "So I've noticed," he said, rubbing at his face with a woebegone expression as though he had been mortally wounded by the creature.
He tried hitting it again.

He turned, watching as others got hit or fell back down. "Yeah. I don't know what they want, but they didn't leave me and my..." Was it a friend? "...friend alone last time." He guessed it was easier to call it that.
Not having much time to debate on the titles of just-met strangers from past battles, he gave it a kick after seeing another person kick it. "I'm Velmin, by the way." He liked names. Saying his name made him feel more - here. More solid. He swung his arm out in another hit towards the creature, though he doubted it would have much effect since apparently he wasn't particularly good at defending himself oops. Naian scrambled to her feet and looked around for something, anything, to defend herself with. Another blow sent her sprawling, but this time she came up with a rock. "G-go away!" she shouted at the creature, beaning it with the rock. She stood there shaking a bit, her fists clenched at her sides, then looked at her fellow... allies, maybe? Well, they had a common enemy, at least. "I-I'm Naian," she said, after a moment. "What is that thing? I hate it..." As Linswo heard someone speak their name, he opted to follow suit and said his own. "I'm Linswo! It's nice to meet yo--" And then the creature hit him and he stumbled forward. He tried to remember the names, smiling. Even if they were in a fight, he was meeting new people with blue hearts just like him. That had to mean something.
