Since 2 or 3 weeks Suki has been having weird wounds on her cheek/lip and in her neck (where a tick used to be). It feels like she isn't herself either. So we're going to the vet tomorrow.

I really, really, really hope the little wounds in my cats neck and face are “just” an allergic reaction and nothing else/worser. gonk

Oh, I didn't see this thread yesterday!

I guess you've been to the vet now? What is it? Is everything okay?

Allergic reaction to food.

But now the cats have fleas too. We found out last Monday. They're inside cats so we're like: "HOW?!". But we can't get rid of them. I've been cleaning the house for the 2nd time already. I groom the cats throughout the day (2 to 5 times a day). I used anti-flea drops in their neck from frontline which doesn't work. So now we have to wait 2/3 weeks before we can apply with another brand.

*sigh*

Well, that's not too scary a problem!

I'm sorry about the fleas though. I'm really lucky, I can't remember having to deal with a flea infestation ... uh, ever, actually. When I was growing up, my parents used to get the house sprayed for bugs and spiders (mainly because of me, with my huge spider phobia), and that seemed to keep the fleas away. Since then... well, Cricket was always inside and I guess it's just a fluke that the dog hasn't brought them home yet.

Maybe some of the others here have some suggestions for fleas...

BATHE THEM. With Dawn dishsoap if you have it available in your country. The original works best. It helps to suffocate the fleas. Then use a flea comb and rinse it off if in a little bowl of diluted soap. Then, pack up the family, and bomb the house. (flea bomb). Youll have to stay elsewhere for a few days to make sure their dead.

The thing with fleas is that when you vaacum, you need to throughly clean the vacuum, wash all pet bedding, human bedding, clean the couches, etc. If theres one pregnant female, you will have an infestation on your hands. D:

Fleas are the devil. emotion_donotwant

Im allergic to flea bites so even though my kitties are indoors only, if there is even the suspect of a possible flea, they both get baths and my clothes go right into the wash.
