Name: G'nar

Age: 39

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Isn't really interested in either gender unless his Dragon is chasing a female, he will just go along with the situation without much thought.

Craft/Rank: Wingrider (Juggernaut.. lol)

History: To say the teenage G'nar was disappointed to be passed up on Search, when his sister was taken to the Weyr was an understatement but he held out hope that someday he would be joining his beloved sister. His wish was granted a few turns later when he was picked up, granted that he was on the older scale of candidates to be searched but the dragon had sensed SOMETHING promising in the 16 turn old.

He'd been in the weyr for several hatchings and had gotten into countless scrapes because of his increasing temper, while most of the time he could control it, sometimes he got carried away, even threatened with expulsion from the Weyr if he carried on with such behaviour but he was allowed to stand. By the time G'nar was 19 turns old, no one expected him to Impress at all, in fact, the Candidatemaster had enquired about sending him back after this latest clutch had hatched, rather than have the lad make more trouble within the weyr if the kid stayed.

In time the clutch hatched and as expected he was left standing alone, with one egg left unhatched and many other candidates left for the last hatchling to chose from, G'nar was downhearted, but he refused to let it show, he was determined to see it through. It took a long time for cracks to appear, and many thought that the egg just wasn't going to hatch. Suddenly a burst of shell erupted outwards and an unusually large Blue shook it's head free of shell shards, Quickly his eyes turned yellow/orange and turned his head towards G'nar "Mine, i waited a long time in there, I'm Jareth and you should have come to get me" G'nar was so happy that he finally got to be like his big sister, a Dragonrider.

Fast forward a couple of turns and G'nar was in yet another scuffle with a rider who taunted him about his dragon, that he was a freak, too big to be a 'proper' Blue. G'nar returned this with a blow to the mans face, he didn't think he'd hit hard but it seemed he'd knocked the other out cold. The mans friends piled in and that was when Jareth came diving down, wings flaring to deflect the others away from His, however as he was back-winging he accidentally knocked G'nar backwards, who lost his footing, fell and cracked his head against a rock. G'nar recovered but it was noticed that he was somewhat changed, although his temper didn't flare as easily, when it did he was almost unstoppable. This showed when someone had tossed a rock at him, trying to get a rise out of him, which it had and he nearly beat the man to death. Only being pulled away by several older riders, Jareth would have reacted but the Queen had forced him to stay, this annoyed the Blue but you didn't ignore a Gold.

G'nar was shut away while it was being decided about what to do with him. He'd been 'imprisoned' for several days when his sister came to him. She told him that she was taking him somewhere better and, with the cooperation of Jareth and her dragon, they managed to leave the Weyr, spending their time living rough, moving often, especially when Threadfall occured once more, having to Between to the safety of one of many cavernous 'boltholes'. After a few turns of this they were found by an agent of Keller's. The council, having seen potential in the two broad riders convinced G'nar's sister that he would always be safe among the Wherholds, he would have a place to belong to and most importantly not be forced to be kept away from others, he would have an outlet for his 'episodes', and G'nar fitted right in, once he knew who was in charge, he'd follow the orders given to him. He and his dragon have seen many battles and are both heavily marked by this, but G'nar is happy to be useful.

Within the Wherhold, G'nar is respected as a physically strong person, however with his slightly diminished capacity to understand the more complex things, it often leads to him being used more as a physical force than a tactical member. He is often in a fight, while he might not understand the difficult things, he understands being taunted and the easiest way to get him angry is being hit, or insulting his sister or their Dragons. He's seen every Wherholder battle, and has been in a fighting ring countless times and usually comes out on top purely because there's not many that can match up to him physically, although, if they're fast enough to avoid his blows, you can tire him out after a while, unless that is, you've injured him, then he is like a charging bull herdbeast, until he's caught you he won't stop unless someone can call him to order.

Description: He's a BIG man, tall and broad, very wide shoulders, huge chest, big thick arms and legs. He has short dead straight black hair, he likes to keep it very short. He has scars all across his chest, arms and a few along his face. His nose has been repeatedly broken and more often than not is seen sporting a few bruises as results from fights. He dressed fairly plainly not given much to how he looks, though if they're torn/ripped/cut .. he will replace them.

Personality: He's fairly hard to get angry but physical pain will enrage him. He's great at taking orders, and is very good at following them through but he has a tendancy to go a little too far if he's not watched carefully. If he has a target or someone hurts him, he's like a raging bull with an iron will. Sometimes though you have to explain something more than once, especially the more complex things. An accident when he was younger slightly addled his brain and can sometimes 'zone out' and just focus entirely on one thing. He often needs someone to remind him to come back to 'reality'. More often than not that will be his sister, she's the only one that can usually get close to him (physically) to snap him out of it.

When it comes to Jareth, G'nar is somewhat more vocal, at least mentally. He gets edgy and jealous when his dragon speaks to others, or is spoken to by others, he is extremely possessive of Jareth. This jealousy has formed over time as the less people understood him, the less he understands the world around him. He likes the privacy of the bond between him and Jareth. The blue indulges this a little too much, which means that when someone intrudes on that privacy, G'nar feels put out and there lies the jealousy. The pair gets much enjoyment from hunting felines, Gnar from a safe distance once they've tracked a lone one down experiences the hunt through the eyes of Jareth. This might seem odd when coupled with his love of animals but as long as Jareth hunts cleanly and without cruelty then he can easily enjoy it.

There's not much G'nar wants out of life except the companionship of his sister, her dragon and his bond with Jareth. He does love his food and the best way to keep the big man happy is to keep him fed, a hungry G'nar is a grumpy G'nar. He doesn't really socialise much beyond learning a little bit about those he's going to be working with directly. He doesn't think about the complexities of Wherhold life. His only real social contact is through Healers, since often enough they're patching him up for one thing or another. He has a very real and deep respect for Healers, since it's Healers (and crafts that closely work alongside them) that keep Pern going since .. EVERYONE needs a Healer at some point in their life, don't they.

Other: He is good around creatures, as much as he can rage, give him a young animal and he'll be transfixed. He is as calm with a raging bull as he is with a small puppy, nothing much moves him into excitement around animals, some instinctive thing within him knowing to be calm with animals, including Dragons.

He is great at hunting felines (well Jareth is). When it comes to hunting them, he can focus completely on a task, his whole being is honed in on tracking the creatures down to let Jareth finish the hunt. If he is heading a force to capture or kill felines, you can be sure that he'll stop at nothing to get his quarry. As a result, he often has fine furs, that he will usually give to his sister, sometimes keeping the odd pelt that he likes.

Blue Jareth
User Image

Name: Jareth
Age: 20
Size: Large
Build: Above Average
Personality: Jareth is hard working and will often push himself into working harder than needed, just to prove he's the best Blue out there. Unless His has been hurt or he is fighting, he isn't given to much anger (unless a Gold is speaking to him, he doesn't like golds much at all, since he was prevented from 'rescuing' G'nar from the second Incident by the Senior Gold there. While he will listen and obey.. he doesn't have to like it), in this way he is similar to his rider, however that's where they begin to differ, Jareth is smart, he often spends his free time going over lost fights and situations to try and improve himself and do better the next time, G'nar has to help since Jareth's memory is just like most other Dragon, so Jareth will ask G'nar to write things down so that they can both go through it together. With G'nar Jareth is still a little overprotective and is often close at hand, usually hovering above when His is out and about. He doesn't mind one bit when G'nar's sister's dragon bespeaks him so much asking about His, he understands that her rider has a bond with His, and is tolerant of it, unless he's been spoken to by a Gold, then he gets an attitude. However he is rather sarcastic at times, depending on his mood at the time it could be amusing and friendly, or totally scathing.

When it comes to chasing females, Jareth is very selective, he wont go for just any Green, in fact there are few that give him cause to chase, though he likes to be challenged, if he respects that Green then he will chase but he respects few dragons at all.

Other Information: Jareth knows when G'nar 'targets' someone, and will alway warn G'nar's sister, through her dragon because he knows she's one of the few people that can bring him out of it before he does too much damage. If they are too far away he will bespeak one of the higher ranking Dragons to get Theirs to come and deal with G'nar, he doesn't like it but he knows it's essential to prevent G'nar getting in too much trouble.
