Udipti slowed her pace as she felt the sand beneath her paws give way to a rockier substance. Pebbles, gravel, even the odd bit of foliage. She stopped to smell them, her eyes darting along the horizon. Water sources had been secured by the alliance, to some degree, but it never hurt to search for other sources, those with no strings attached. Closing her eyes tight she settled for a moment, brushing her paw against a section of rough brush. Her pale eyes gave her some trouble against the harsh sun and periodically she found she had to rest, look away from the ground and sky, or else she'd see a glittering haze in place of reality. It would be better to work with a partner, she knew, but the silence always gave her time to think. Deep roots, she sighed. No water nearby, at least not near enough to find before she'd need to turn back.
