Kadryn had taken a ferry to the Captial of Serenia to pick up some supplies for her upcoming journey into the deep wilds of Soudul and the Terra Expanse. Kirosh had said to meet her in a weeks time with all the supplies and stuff she thought she'd need at the Smugglers Bay.. where ever that was. So here she was in a city she disliked, surrounded by too much noise, sights, and smells that were almost foreign to her after her long trip in the ice waste lands of Aisko. Grumbling to herself, she hoisted her bag onto her shoulder and walked into the port marketplace of Ashen City.

Morwen was going to be in SUCH trouble with her parents if she was caught on this venture. Her parents had been quite determined to send her to school in the capital, to learn some subject she wasn't interested in, in the hopes of her being a 'useful' member of society later on. The girl wasn't exactly keen on her parents' idea of 'useful' at all.
On her way to her fate, the girl had heard a ton of rumors about groups of bandits and marauders who sailed the seas and lived freely, all spoken in hushed whispers by awestruck young girls who had probably been reading too many romance novels. Morwen had been annoyed by them, till she was struck with inspiration - why not run away? She wanted these girls to go away, and at school she'd be stuck with them...why not just go away herself? Go join one of those marauding groups, actually live - or just, anything but this!? Her parents were letting her travel to the school with other potential students from her home, sending her trunks on ahead, and leaving her with a large amount of pocket money for shopping...why not steal away?
And that is exactly what she'd done. But plans not thought out were...well, not very well thought out. At present, she was attempting to make her way through an familiar part of the city, and had absolutely no idea where she was going till she bumped into someone older with blue hair, who sounded rather grumbly.
"Ack! Sorry!" Morwen flailed a little, looking up at the older person she'd run into.

Kadryn looked down at the girl who had just run into her. She barely felt it and smiled at the child. Such fancy clothes for one so young, she thought to herself with a smile. "No apologizes needed." She said to the young girl. Looking at the girls outfit, Kadryn was reminded of the stories she'd heard of pirates when she was younger. Pirates would know where a smuggler's bay was, she thought, perhaps she would know? Or she could just be dressing up as a pirate... "Do you know this area well by any chance?" She asked the girl, "I normally don't come to the city and I could use some directions."

Well that was good. At least she wasn't mad. Arriving in the port and already pissing people off would be a TERRIBLE idea. That'd just get her into such trouble.
"Ah...um." Morwen looked a bit oddly at the question. She probably looked like she belonged in a port at least - she'd managed to toss and change a few bits of her uniform and get a new little coat till she was suitably 'normal' looking. Which to her was kind of fancy because that's all the girl was used to. But did that actually give her knowledge of anything?
"Actually no, not really. I've only just gotten out here myself. I'm sorry. Are you from elsewhere too then?"

So she wasn't from around here... blast. Guess I can get lost in cities just as easily as I do in the wild.. wonderful, Kadryn thought with a sigh.
She looked down at the the much younger girl, "I'm from a small town called Hot Springs Village. I tend to avoid places like this but had to come to get some information." She gestured disgustedly at the loud smelly busy port. Cities just got worse and worse the more she saw of them. Only thing good about them was that she could find good food and recipes here. "What about you? Where've you come from?" Kadryn asked curiously.

Morwen looked embarrassed. "Ah ha heh heh...no where important. Honest! I'm just- Do you want help looking? For information I mean?" the girl piped up, grinning up at Kadryn with wide eyes. She didn't want to reveal she'd run away from a trip to school - she might get sent back!
"Company's always good right?"

Kadryn looked down at the girl and wondered, no where important? Why does she want to hide where she's from? City people are so strange.... Oh well, she offered to help which was a nice thing to do. Kadryn was at a lost in the city, not sure of where to go for information on anything.... "Thanks for the offer..uh... Silly me, we haven't actually introduced ourselves have we?" Kadryn laughed as she shook her head. Where were her manners? "I'm Kadryn. And I'm trying to find someplace called 'Smuggler's Bay.' Kirosh told me to meet him there. But I have no clue what or where it is nor who to ask."

Aha! Questions she could ANSWER! And a similar destination! That sounded like the right place to be going indeed!
"I'm Morwen and I want to find Smuggler's Bay too." she said, almost conspiratorially. Then she peered at the older girl, "Just why do you even wanna find it? Are you with the law or do you gotta smuggle something? Who's Kirosh?" She was mostly being playful.
Looking around, the girl thought hard. "Maybe we could get information from the vendors or the sailors? Or people in a tavern?"

Chuckling at the younger girls questions Kadryn smiled. "Kirosh is a friend in the Wild Tribe, and I'm to meet him there to learn what tasks I need to do to join the Tribe. Not the law! Certainly not!" Kadryn laughed at that. She was a barbarian from a small village, what did she care about the law of cities? As for Kirosh. Well, she wasn't going to tell an Orderite that she was meeting an Oblivionite! Lets just leave it at that. That's simple enough....
"Hmm, maybe that'd be best... I suppose that a tavern would be where sailors go." Kadryn mused and looked down at Morwen. But should she take such a young girl inside a tavern? Well, I can protect her if anything untoward happens so I guess it's okay? Hope her parents don't mind!

Morwen seemed a little proud of that. "We've gotta watch our stuff though, right? People who hang around taverns aren't always nice. Or they try to sell you stuff, right? I've never been in a tavern." Obviously.
She made sure her money was safely in her bag and that was stapped close to her. The girl was ready and eager to go!
"I'm excited. I wanna be a smuggler. Or a pirate! I'm gonna adventure."

Checking her bags as well, Kadryn made sure her orbs and bag of coins were safely stowed. "I've worked at a cafe... and entered my town's tavern but never a city tavern before. I've heard stories though. And a pirate sounds fun. But dangerous and not legal at all." Kadryn said conversationally to Morwen as she maneuvered her mace about to make it easier to grab and look much more prominent. Better that people see the mace and back off then her having to actually use it on someone!
Entering the tavern she looked about. For mid day it was certainly busy! Must be the lunch crowd, she thought. "You go and ask those ones and I'll ask them." She motioned at a group of younger sailors in a corner for Morwen to go talk to and pointed at a near by group for herself. "Maybe one of them will know."
But they didn't. In fact, Kadryn noticed that the group she tried to talk to seemed to get slightly hostile when she asked it... weird she thought as she left the group and looked around to see if Morwen had had better luck.

Morwen quirked a brow at Kadryn. "I'm pretty sure Smuggling isn't legal either." she pointed out with a small smile and poked at the older girl. However, on being given instructions, she nodded firmly and tried to be casual as she went over to ask the young sailors.
They were not at all pleased to be asked questions by a little kid and tried to ignore her till she stepped on someone's toes to glare at him. He rolled his eyes and tried to make her leave, the group saying they knew nothing and shooing the girl back.
Morwen tried not to pout too heavily as she went back to Kadryn.
"No luck. Should we try someone else???"

She shook her head, "No luck either. They got slightly hostile at its mention.. which shouldn't surprise me considering the name..." She sighed, why had Kirosh told her to meet him there? What was wrong with asking to meet in the port on Eowyn? She knew where that was at least!
"Maybe they don't like being interrupted while they're drinking?" She mused out loud before sighing and heading for the door. "Maybe the sailors that are sitting idle near a ship will be more willing to help?"

"Well I mean maybe? People don't like people interrupting their dinner afterall...but if smuggling's not legal is it really safe to go around just asking people where it is? Wouldn't it be like secret or something?"
She looked puzzled while following Kadryn, just sort of musing on this train of thought.
"Like um, if I walked up and asked where I could find a bunch of murderers who hide...wouldn't people worry I was trying to find out who knew illegal stuff so I could arrest them?"

Kadryn stopped adn looked at Morwen before laughing. "Now I feel silly! That's probably it. Maybe if I say I have to go meet Kirosh there you think they'll answer? People and their laws. I just don't understand why people can be so picky about how others act! So long as no one gets hurt everything's fine right?" She sighed. The wilderness and country towns were so much better than cities! not only were they not this noisy and crowded, people were more open, or at least that's what it seemed to her.
She looked about the chaos of the docks. So loud, smelly, and crowded! Spotting an older man off to the side weaving a net, an idea occurred to her. Old men were the worst gossips in her town, perhaps this one would be the same? There where a ton of people carrying boxes and bags in between them and Kadryn didn't want to bull her way through and cause things to fall plus there were too many people flying about for her to safely go up and then land without hitting anyone. But the smaller Morwen could sneak through... probably! She pointed at him as she asked Morwen; "Can you go over to that old man and ask him if he'd tell you where the bay is? Mention that I have to meet a member of the Wild Tribe there, Kirosh. Maybe that'll open him up. Or he can tell us something. Old men gossip a lot in my town, so hopefully we'll get lucky with him."
