The road was long, but it was glorious; the sights of the world changing around her in pace, from desert to tapering bits of brown to the swamp itself, fascinated her and only reinforced her believe in what she was setting out to accomplish. Though the trek was not for those of meager stature, she was able to traverse the sands well enough, even with her extra weight. The greatest glory of her journey was the life that swelled within her, the tiny lives that were testament to the love of the two forbidden lifemates.
It was that precious cargo that had brought her to the edge of the Swamp, seeking the fabled Ascended of yore. Of course she had heard stories, passed on amongst her own tribe and whispers still amongst the fleet-footed Acha, but it was the Firstborn she sought, those painted in the image of the MotherFather: the Kimeti. It seemed proper to her, to pay homage to a race outside that of her and her mate, especially for the blessing she sought. She was not without her reasons, and where there was a will, there would always be a way for the stubborn Kiokote.
Unfortunately, though it was Ascended she sought, Ascent knew not how to find one. She was counting on the stories she'd heard to lead her true -- or rather, to have what she desired to be brought to her.Jun D SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG TO GET STARTED!

"A pregnant doe, out of the plains - no, farther, I can smell the scorch of sand on you - tapping about the edge of the Swamp, eyes searching," the voice was sudden, dry - right in her ear. The dark mare had melted into form beside her, perhaps before she had known it, "what it is, I wonder, you could be searching for?"Chrystali Aww never worry, I'm never in any hurry these days - I'm so sorry I took so long to reply though, it's been crazy here. The Kiokote jumped. It was no small feat for the sturdy built kin and her given weight plus a bit more in her belly, but jump she did, tossing her auburn mane and rearing her head back, one leg lifted. It was not often she was surprised, but she could have kicked herself for being surprised in this instance: the irony of seeking the unseekable and expecting a known outcome was laughable. Her misgivings were easily lost once she set her wide sage eyes upon the great Kimeti, having no doubts in her mind just who and what this majestic being was. She was beautiful, moved in the way only the Swamp knew and even her voice sounded like she was reciting stories with a word. Ascent was enthralled and deeply humbled.
"Forgive my ignorance, beloved lady - I've heard only whispers of you in story; I'm afraid even I, in my staunch upbringing, was never taught how to address such a Beloved of the Swamp." The Kiokote took care to press on knee onto the uneven land of swamp and sand, the other front leg stretched before herself, one of the only times she felt submission was of a proper response in meeting such a one as this. "I seek your counsel - and your blessing, if you find me fit to do so."
Lifting her head despite her position, Ascent smiled. It was not as graceful as she would have liked, worn from the journey and tempered by her awe, but she was doing everything - anything she could to do this right.Jun D So. A year later... *hides face in shame*
