What Of Your Past: Aqua lived most of her life in the sea with her father. Since she lived near the coast she was exposed to the above world. She'd sometimes swim off on her own to observe the different kinds of people that visited the coast, whether it was trading or just to swim.
On one of her visits when she was in her mid teens, Aqua met a young elven boy. He noticed her frequent visits to the coast as well as her fascination, so he decided to help her out. He told her stories about the surface world, the different landscapes and kingdoms he's traveled to as a merchant's son. Aqua's fascination grew due to his stories. They'd meet every day in the morning for a few weeks. They quickly became good friends.
Her father noticed Aqua's trips and tried to stop his daughter from making a mistake, but his warnings weren't enough to stop her. She continued to meet The elven boy up until two and a half years, since his father had opened a small shop near the coast. Aqua and the boy were drawn closer with each visit. It was at the end of the second year that the boy confessed his affections to Aqua. She was overjoyed and gladly returned his feelings. Their relationship was short lived, however. Just a few months later the boy told Aqua he had to leave on a trip to a far kingdom with his father due to financial problems and they wouldn't return for another two months. Hoping to solve this, Aqua gave him a box of her family's treasured jewlery to help him and his father, and hopefully prevent him from leaving. He said it wasn't enough, but he promised her he'd return to be by her side again. After he left, Aqua visited almost every morning. After two months, he did not return. Aqua convinced herself he'd be back in another week, but he never returned. Weeks passed, then months, then a year. Aqua lost hope he'd return and her tenderness towards him slowly turned into bitterness and frustration. Aqua stopped visiting the coast for another year after that.
This caused Aqua to develop hostility towards males. She was convinced she'd been tricked out of her money, and that it wasn't worth severing her connection with her father. She was cynical, reserved and cautious towards others since then, afraid she'd have her heart torn again. Aqua was close to her father before the incident, but their connhection had been broken after. He was furious towards her for giving strangers their prized jewels from 5 generations before. They were distant, hardly ever talked. Fed up with her father's behavior despite the incident being a year ago Aqua decided to leave to the surface world and start a new life by herself.
Since then, Aqua's been traveling around from place to place doing small odd jobs to get by with.
What Are You Able To Do: Aqua can freely switch between her mermaid and human form. She will remain in her human form unless she touches salt water, which will immediately switch her back to her mermaid form until she dries off. She needs to drink a lot of water when she is in her human form or she'll risk dehydration.
-Aqua can manipulate water to an extent. She can make water levitate and change shape to attack her opponent. She can also make currents of water as a boost when she swims.
-Aqua has a super high-pitched screech that can deafen her opponents for several minutes, potentially stun them. Her screech is loud enough to break glass.
