After taking advantage of the late working schedules of her household to sneak out. She wasn't really there to patrol, even though she'd powered up. She was mostly out and about thanks to a deep need to escape the Caffrey household and all of it's smothering rules and secrets to think about things.

She had a lot of things to think about.

Somehow she ended up on the swing set at Knightside, taking comfort in the fact it was both familiar and currently abandoned, at least as far as she could tell.

Languidly swaying back and forth and kicking at the dirt while heavy thoughts weighed on her was one way to spend a school night, though probably not a recommended one.

Letutia just wanted more answers. She had more questions than she thought it was possible to have, and she didn’t like it. It made her uneasy and rather frustrated. The chibi was glad at the very least she had figured out how to power up and down and was now on a hunt for answers to the rest of her questions.

She figured that if senshi were around her age, which Goretti had been that perhaps a school would be the best place. She chose Knightside since it was the one that had the most meaning to her at the present time. Sure, she was going to high school this fall…but Knightside had been her home for years. Making her way over there, she wasn’t let down, and honestly she couldn’t tell if that fact made her happy or unhappy, but she approached the other senshi(?), with caution.

Well. She figured it had to be a senshi…or just a kid dressed up strangely…but now she automatically equated that to someone being a senshi. “Hi. My name’s Letutia…who are you?”

Short, sweet and very much to the point. She even held a hand out for the other girl to shake…if she chose to.

Columba snapped out of her trance and suddenly became acutely aware of the presence of another senshi's aura... a little too late because she was standing in front of her talking. The extra sensory stuff that came with being a senshi was something she was going to have to work on.

"Oh... 'ey," She dug her sneakers into the dirt to stop the slight movement of the swing set and reached one gloved hand out to take Lutetia's. "Lu--... uh... Hi." She cleared her throat and took an extra second to shake off her daze before she hopped of the swing and adjusted her hat. "I'm Sailor Chibi Columba," She introduced and pointed to the bonnet on the other senshi's head, cracking a crooked smile. "That's awesome."

Hey, she hadn't seen another senshi with a hat. It was a solidarity thing.

Chibi. That wasn’t a word that was in her vocabulary at all. What did that even mean? “What’s Chibi mean? Is that just part of your name…? ChibiColumba? That’s a strange name, no offense meant of course…”

She made a face and her free hand went to touch the dumb bonnet that was again perched on her head. “Uh…thanks…I…you don’t think it makes me look like an idiot? Because I feel like an idiot when I wear it. I tried to leave it in the woods the last time I was um…like this? But then when I became like this again it was back on my head. Fit as a fiddle…is that normal do you think?”

Question after question, she sounded like the teachers pet on the first day of school. This other senshi was going to think she was retarded or worse. Just plain dumb. Maybe she ought to clear that assumption up before it began to take root in ChibiColumba’s hair. “I suppose I’m really new at this. And I didn’t get many answers from the dumb talking cat who popped up in front of me…so I’ve been trying to find some and here you are so I’m trying to use you for answers…”

She paused. “Is it ChibiColumba like one word or is Chibi not a part of your name and it’s like, two words? Or is there a hyphen between them? Because Goretti was just Goretti, and I’m just Lutetia…your name seems super long to me or something…” Letutia fell quiet, feeling rather stupid.

Make that very stupid. With life.

Columba was still finding her way in a lot of aspects of being a senshi, but if there was one thing she had thought about and discussed at length, it was the nature of the 'chibi' title.

But first thing's first. "Well we all kind of look like idiots," She said with a snort of a giggle and shrugged. "I mean what is up with this?" She picked at her collar for emphasis. "And you know what our ultimate reward for badassery is? Wings. On yer butt."

She took off her own hat and squished it between her fingers. "I think it just fixes itself when we go civilian. I got my collar torn in a fight once but it was all better next time I powered up. But it's not the weirdest thing I've seen."

"But anyway, the chibi thing, nah. It's part of my title, like Sailor. The cat who taught me to power up said it was because we're younger than the average senshi. Once you're fourteen you can be a grown up senshi but until then you don't get as much magic. 'Chibi'," It required air quotes. "It's pretty dumb. But it's okay, I'll fourteen this month!"

Her grin had sort of a lopsided feel to it. Her dad still hadn't gotten around to arranging to get her chipped tooth fixed and the shorter canine felt weird.

"I dunno who Goretti is, but full senshi usually just... feel... more?" Aura senses were hard to explain when you didn't even fully understand them yourself. "Oh, but anyway, dumb titles an' s**t aside, I'm just Columba. I'm the senshi of correspondedence."

Wings. On…on their butts? That sounded…

To be honest, Letutia was not impressed with any of this right now, and her impress-o-meter was going down as every second passed. “Wings…on our butts? And why does that signify that we’re badass? We become little farting angels or something? Spreading good will and bad smells?”

She snorted. “Oh. So I guess I’m a chibi too. I’ll be fourteen later this month as well though…so I guess you and I will become…a lot more…moreish by the start of high school, eh? That’s good at least. I don’t really like to be less than I should be. It feels unfair, I guess.”

Letutia nodded. “Columba, senshi of Correspondence, hm? Then I’m Letutia, senshi of Migration. I don’t really understand the point of it, but hey. Whatever. It’s not like I’ve gotten to choose any of this anyway, why start complaining about what I’m the senshi of, right? Even if it is lame as anything.”

“Goretti is…I assume a chibi senshi. The senshi of glue. He was a very happy kid. I’m thinking he was younger than me. He didn’t seem like he disliked this, and he talked a lot…a whole lot. But he helped me out, so I guess he wasn’t as terrible as he could have been.”

"Cats talk," Columba deadpanned as if nothing was allowed to be 'weird' unless it happened to be weirder than the feline race speaking perfect English.

"The point? To fight bad guys, duh," She didn't know what cat awakened this senshi but she felt they didn't have near the sales savvy Sheena apparently did, since the kitten knew exactly how to phrase the entire situation to get at least Columba on board.

"We're superheroes, we have magic powers."

She was much more focused on the topic of birthdays, though. "Oh Oh! When? That's so cool. We're almost exactly the same a-- oh!" She realized where they were and dramatically and frantically pointed one fully extended arm towards the school building, voice cracking in ecstatic excitement. "Do you school here?!"

Complete sentences are irrelevant when making new friends.

“Yeah…I got that.” The answer was really for all of the things that Colomba had said, cats talking, fighting bad guys…being super heroes…she had heard it all from Goretti and really…it still didn’t seem like that big of a deal. Well. Maybe the talking cats, but that was a whole other story in itself. So far the talking cat she had met hadn’t really wow’d her.

When the other girl began to talk about normal things though…well. That sparked a bit of excitement. “I’ll be fourteen on the twenty ninth…what about you? I used to go here, but I’m going to be going into High School this year, I’m excited, and so nervous…I’m hoping to get into Crystal Academy, but I don’t know. I’ve talked to my mom and dad about it, but they’re not sure they can afford it, so I really don’t know! All I know is I’m more excited than I think I can stand, I can’t wait until September!”

She was grinning now, eyes bright. This was safe ground, a conversation she was used to. Gabbing with another teenager. She liked that.

"Augh, that's so cool," Columba wailed. "I'm gonna fourteen in seven days," She said, as if this anguish was an unbearable force she had been dealing with for ages now.

But her eyes half lidded with a jealous, "Oh, really?" At the mention of trying to get into Crystal. But then she shrugged it off. "My sister went to Crystal. On a scholarship. But I don't think I qualify for that so I'm prolly gonna get stuck in Meadowview. But that's okay, because there's boys there."

Not that she didn't like admiring girls, either, but coed seemed much more interesting.

"The colors are ugly though," She scrunched up her nose. "I hate orange."

Lutetia nodded excitedly. “That is so cool! I’m so jealous of you! I have to wait…” She thought for a moment, frowning. What was the date today? “Twenty five more I think. I’m pretty sure it’s twenty five. It’s something around there at least. Twenty something.

She gave a sympathetic little shake of the head at the mention of not being able to get into Crystal, though added as an afterthought to her own hopes. “I’m most likely not going to make it in either, if that makes you feel any better…I do suppose that Meadowview wouldn’t be too bad. But, I totally agree on the whole orange thing. They need a uniform makeover, and they need it quickly.”

The chibi gave a happy sort of sigh. “If we do end up going to the same school, I hope we have the same classes! That would be beyond wonderful. It’s good to know that people my age are…you know. Running around and fighting people or whatever. But to be honest. I’d rather be at the mall.”

"You'd rather be at the maaaall?" Columba said, her jaw dropping in incredulous shock. Well, wait, the mall was awesome even if you didn't have a ton of allowance to spend, but, "Really?! Instead of fightin' badguys and junk and saving the world? Well I guess the mall is pretty fun," She concluded with a nod.

"But I like being able to do something! My sister has been a senshi forevers and she's such a stuck up bitchface about it, it's nice to do things on my own and not have to wait around for her to save my butt. I can save my own butt!"

She heaved a huge sigh at the thought of being stuck in Meadowview orange for the next four years but... it was at least offset b the fact it was high school!

"Yeah! I'm uh... I'm not so good at makin' friends."

Lutetia began to shake her head, opening her own mouth to go into a rant about just how wonderful and perfect the mall was, but then the other chibi took her words back and she let the air out of her lungs in one long woosh. “Oh good. I was about to get really upset. I love the mall. I love shopping. I love it all, really. And I guess…saving the world seems like an okay concept, I just haven’t done any real saving anything, you know? All I’ve done was met a rude cat and a cute little kid and you. And um.”

She reached a hand up. “And of course, can’t forget my bonnet. I’ve gotten to wear it too, so that’s a big plus.” The chibi rolled her eyes and sighed heavily. “I don’t know. I think you’ve been pretty good at making me a friend. I want to hang out with you quite a bit, okay? I mean who else am I supposed to talk to about all of this senshi stuff with? And we can go shopping. I love shopping. Plus, if we go to different schools isn’t that twice the gossip, that we get to share? I mean, that’s two thirds of the teenage population in Destiny City, right in our hands. Or at least kind of in our hands. I forgot about the boys’ schools.”

Columba nodded excitedly and powered down, running her fingers through the limp fauxhawk cut now that she was just plain old Dana Caffrey.

"M'name's Dana. I live a few blocks away." She stretched her arms over her head and yawned.

"We should hang out sometime! Or patrol or something. I can show you all kinds of cool things. But... not tonight. Dad's probably gonna notice I'm gone soon if I don't get back."

She looked towards the playground gate and back to Lutetia as she waved and ran towards it. "Bye!"

Lutetia blinked when the girl powered down and then did the same. “I’m Samantha. It’s good to meet you like this too.” When the other senshi—Dana ran off so suddenly, Samantha blinked, then laughed. “Bye Dana! I’ll see you sometime soon I hope!” She turned and began walking in the other direction. That had been fun, and she liked finding people her own age and besides all that. Dana just looked like a cool person. She liked cool people.

Grinning, Samantha ran the rest of the way home. Maybe this senshi stuff wasn’t going to be so terrible after all. Not if cool people were senshi too.
