Lendiweh's tail flicked as she crawled through a patch of grass. She stared intently as she followed a beetle that flitted through the grass. The bug finally came to rest on a long blade of grass, waving slightly in the breeze. Lendiweh gathered her hindquarters under her tightly, ready to pounce. She took a deep breath and sprang forward, paws and claws outstretched. The beetle flew away as she was mid-air, and she twisted her body to try to reach it before it escaped. It was much too fast for her to catch, however, and she landed in such an awkward position that she lost her footing. Too late, she realized that she had been stalking the bug for so long that she had ended up on top of a hill. Lenni tumbled down, yelping as gravity rolled her into rocks and branches.
The ground flattened out again, and she rolled, slowly losing momentum, until she bumped right into something warm and fuzzy and came to a stop flat on her back, paws in the air. She let out a groan and looked up to see who she had collided with.

Maka'alohi was playing happily at the base of a hill. She was pretending she was hunting gazelle, so she slunk low to the ground shuffled as quietly as a clumsy young cub could towards the "herd", which was actually just a pile of rocks she had put together earlier in a game of "Den".
She was just getting ready to pounce, tail straight up in the air, when she heard a funny sound. Maka sat her behind back down in a hurry and froze. Was a real gazelle coming her way?
Nope, but there was definitely something coming down the hill. The cub let out a startled shriek just as her sister appeared and... bumped into her. Oh. No reason to panic after all. How embarrassing!
Calming her racing heartbeat, Maka looked at Lenni upside down as the other cub lay on her back. Her expression was one mixed with curiosity and concern. "Uhm, you okay?"

Noelani was not far from her new sisters. More of a worrier than her mother, she tried to look after the girls as often as she could. She knew she wasn't their mother and certainly did not expect to be treated as such, but family was family and no matter how much her head liked to buzz around cubs - they had so much potential in their future - Noe was determined to keep closer to them. After all, she had known they were coming before even her own mother did.
Even if she had gotten them mixed up for a rogue lion at first.
No matter.
As such, the lioness was laying atop the hill they were playing on where she could keep a close watch on all of them at once. The large lioness was just tall enough to see over the grass as she lay on her stomach, enjoying the cool ground. All that could be seen of her were a pair of golden eyes surveying things around her and a grey tuft of fur.
That was, until she heard a yelp.
Jumping to her feet, the lioness peered down just in time to see Lenni go rolling down the hill, yelping as she went, only to startle Maka as she came to a crash landing. The initial panic wore off as she realized there appeared to be no blood and instead, a relieved laugh escaped her lips.
Noelani felt for her younger sister. She herself had tumbled down the same hill before.
The grey lioness trotted down to the two girls, a smile playing at her lips, as she inspected them both for any severe damage, sniffing and nuzzling as she went.
"Are you two alright?"

At the sound of familiar voices, Lenni let out a sigh of relief that she didn't realize she had been holding. She rolled over, easily climbing to her feet, obviously uninjured. Lenni's teeth appeared abruptly as she grinned widely before shaking the dust from her coat. "Well, that was fun!" she declared. She then rushed over to her littermate, sniffing her thoroughly even as she asked, "You're alright, right??" Although Lenni didn't mind getting bruised and scraped during her adventures, she never wanted to hurt others in the process. Mostly satisfied that Maka'alohi was unharmed, Lenni licked her face joyfully before turning to greet her older sister.
She wove through Noelani's legs, tail twitching playfully. "Thanks for checking on us! Looks like we're both in one piece," she said cheerfully. A mischevious giggle escaped her mouth, and she dashed just out of reach of her sisters, wriggling. She shook her head, enjoying the extra burst of energy and feistiness the adrenaline had given her.
