Charlotte ran until she was out of breath and gasping. She was afraid to look back, fearful that the slight delay would give the much faster Dragon a chance to catch up to her and snap her petite body in two with those powerful jaws. By the time she noticed there was nothing chasing her down, she was in a small wood. The tree cover wasn't very thick, and the trunks were slim and scraggly. But small as the cover was, Char felt a little safer for it. Hiding beneath the greenery, the blond Orderite leaned over, putting her palms on her knees as she panted. Her eyes drooped lazily, slowly closing from her exhaustion. At least until she spotted the gash on her arm.

With a gasp of surprise, she held the offending limb out, as if the wound would spread if she kept it too close to her other appendages. Now that she saw it, it kind of hurt. A lot, actually. Slowly, she drew her arm forward to inspect it. The gash was thick and deep on the inside of her upper arm, but as it drew toward her wrist, it became thinner and more shallow. She'd hardly noticed when the Dragon's fang pierced her, but looking at the gash made her nervous.

Gulping she found a slightly larger tree to lean her back against. By now she was fearful of using the arm, of losing any more blood than she already had. She carefully pulled the canister of water she'd brought along from her pouch and a small roll of cloth to cover it up with. Maybe she should head back to her ship... The medic would be able to take better care of this injury than Char ever could. Still, she could do a minor patch up. She gingerly poured a bit of the water on the loose cloth, and started dabbing delicately at the wound. The clean water stung and she whimpered, but it had to be done. Once Charlotte was satisfied it was as clean as she could get it herself, she wrapped it up in a clean piece of cloth, tying it securely and tightly in place.

It was the sound of twigs crunching and low breathing that had Charlie rising slowly to her feet. And then a snapping in another direction. Her head swiveled back and forth toward the sounds. Through the thin branches, she caught sight of the tough scales of a dragon. It hadn't noticed her yet... But the scent of her blood drew it nearer. She dropped the dirtied cloth on the ground beside the tree, hoping it would briefly distract the Dragon. Dragons, she noted, as the other sound drew closer.

She slunk away from the tree, watching the ground so she wouldn't step on any crisp and crunchy branches. Her steps were delicate, but she wasn't sure where she could go to get away from them... Leaving even this small cover didn't seem like a great idea. In the open they could fly her down in seconds flat. She'd just have to sneak far enough away... She walked in a broad circle around the sounds, trying to keep at least one of the beasts in her sight. It wandered toward her red herring. Charlotte couldn't help but feel pleased at that. Then the creature shook it's head and huffed disinterestedly at the cloth, turning away to head off.

It would have if it's stalking companion hadn't caught sight of Char's shimmering golden hair. the Orderite was more interested in teh other creature at first, but it didn't take long to notice she was being watched. The second Dragon slunk through the trees toward her. Charlotte bit her lip. She'd have to run. Hopefully the thin trees would be enough to slow the larger creatures down until she thought of a better idea. Her injured arm made her weary, but what choice did she have?

Inhaling deeply, the girl took off, not caring about stealth anymore. With the sounds caused by her fleeing, both dragons swiveled toward her. Their heavier bodies were more difficult to maneuver through the denser areas, but they could crash through the trees without too much hesitation. Char was smaller. She dodged and weaved, scarcely noticing as small rocky outcroppings started popping up amongst the grass and trees. Still, when one such outcropping had an opening small enough for her to scramble through, she took it. With a shout of exhilaration, she dove for it, sliding across the ground on her belly through the tight opening.

It was all she could do to hole up in the small nest and hope they left her alone... Or maybe Kayden was watching her, after all, and he'd come to her rescue like he had before! No... She didn't want that! Charlotte shook her head fiercely. She would be okay without him! She picked up a loose pebble from the ground and chuckled it full strength toward the two dragons outside. She heard the sound it made as it hit one of them, but the creature only snarled and shook it off.

She picked up a few more pebbles and threw them. None of them really hurt the scaled Dragons, but surely they'd find something better to attack! She hunkered down against the side, angled so neither could get their claws in to scape at her. She was running out of small pebbles, though... Whimpering, her gaze raked across her tiny cave. It was dark, but she could make out a boulder that might be large enough to cover the gap, if she could only move it... It was her best bet. Charlotte didn't have a whole lot of space to move in, but she hardly needed it with her tiny frame. She pressed her back to one of the rocks, kicking her feet up on the boulder and pushed, stretching herself out to shift the rock toward the gap. One of the Dragons outside roared as the boulder toppled onto it's forearm. With another heave, Char was completely shrouded in darkness. There was faint scratching on the top of her sanctuary, but after a short while, all was quiet, and the two dragons grew bored and left in search of easier prey.
