Hobbies:

Reading -- Liryn really enjoys reading, however the lack of opposable thumbs makes conventional books difficult to read when he's in cat form. Fortunately in this age of modern technology they have finally thought of things from a Mauvian's point of view and come up with (in Liryn's point of view) the best thing ever - aka audio books, although E-book readers are pretty good as well. His favourite books (perhaps unsurprisingly) are DIY books, with 'how to' books coming a close second. He does however also enjoy reading fantasy-type stories - particularly ones where animals have large roles and do not come off as stupid.

Tinkering with things -- Liryn is fascinated with how things work. He fancies himself an amateur DIY-er and will quite happily take things apart in order to get a better look at the different parts and to make 'improvements'. He'll put stuff back together once he's done, but it's not guaranteed that it'll work as it should (or even at all). He's particularly fond of messing around with clocks for some reason and has a few stashes made up of the odd cog here and there as well as other bits of dismantled clocks left over from past 'projects'.

Exploring -- Destiny City is a big place for those with four paws (or even those without), with lots of places for the curious soul to explore. From wandering around the park or checking out the flowers in one of the community gardens to exploring back alleyways or around shops and buildings - there is always something interesting to see, something new to check out and mayhaps even a part or two for the next tinkering project just waiting to be uncovered. When not reading or fiddling around with clocks (or other projects) Liryn loves getting out there and uncovering the city bit by bit.

Virtues:

Curious -- Liryn is a Mauvian that will try just about anything once; he has a naturally inquisitive nature and loves trying out things that will further his knowledge. He’s picked up a bit of general knowledge here and there from poking around things (and from those DIY and 'how to' books he’s always reading) and is always happy to share what he knows. He’s also pretty optimistic, believing that there’s always something to learn from each situation - even when things haven’t gone as planned.

Brave -- Despite his slight frame, Liryn’s not one to scare easily. Said slight frame hides a spine of steel and a huge pool of integrity and he takes his duty as a Mauvian to protect seriously. Large youma threatening a senshi? Nega-person picking on a chibi? No problem! If he’s around and there’s someone in trouble, you can be pretty sure that Liryn will be one of the first to step up and give what help he can for no other reason other than it’s the right thing to do.

Flexible -- It may be a side effect of being so curious, but Liryn’s also pretty good at adapting to changing situations. He does his best to stay optimistic while trying to make the best of things when things don’t go as planned. Liryn will try to make the best of things even when the going turns difficult and tries to apply what skills he has to attempt to turn things around so that they are in his favour instead. It doesn't always work (not all situations are salvageable) but he's not one to let potential failure stop him from at least trying.

Flaws:

Nosy -- The flip side of being inquisitive is that sometimes it can cross the line into actual prying and there’s been many a time when Liryn’s drive to seek out answers has landed him on the wrong side of that line. He can get quite single-minded when in the pursuit of information, without stopping to think about whether the consequences of his actions means that he’s involving himself in something that perhaps he shouldn’t by invading the privacy of others.

Impulsive -- The twin things that seem to rule Liryn most is his curiosity and his heart and both have landed him in trouble on more than one occasion. He’s not good looking beyond the immediate situation to the long term impacts of his choices or actions and quite often the ‘changing situations’ that he’s found himself in have been of his own making - after all it might be commendable to go charge a large youma threatening a senshi but it’s certainly not smart given that he’s a Mauvian not a one-person army - worse he's even a particularly big Mauvian in or out of cat form.

Restless -- Although by no stretch of the imagination stupid, Liryn is a doer more than a thinker. He has a lot of energy and at his best when throwing himself into the next project or checking out the next mystery. Liryn tends to get stir crazy when he has nothing to do and a stir crazy Liryn is not a fun Liryn to be around given his tendency to share his unhappiness at the state of affairs (his boredom) with everyone around him - whether they want to hear about it or not.
