Not far from Shard City lies the Grand Library, it is the most famous of all libraries found in Occulas, towering far above the greatness and age of any library that even Entei can offer. Often referred to simply as 'Kuj'anast' I can confirm from old texts of age old scholars that Kuj'anast existed before the events that led to Magic Earth being hidden.

Like a great cathedral Kuj'anast stretches high, wide and below. It offers a cascade of halls, corridors and staircases for the oldest manuscripts, stories, myths and legends every recorded. Although it may be hard to come across more recent writings, I am sure you will be astounded by what the Grand Library has to offer. I have personally visited myself and, without a sliver of doubt, I could not be less impressed by the beauty and the sheer knowledge Kuj'anast has to offer.

Cora Lainey

It was strange that not so long ago she was at home, in the United States. Though her mind had calmed, it was near unfathomable that a pair of wise dragons directed her to this city. Though the dragons of Justice and Virtue advised her to go to the Neutral City for a familiar scene, Cora had so many questions and curiosities. 'What harm is it to explore some answers on my way there?' Cora thought to herself.

Approaching the great, grand building, Cora believed she may be able to find some information, or at least a friendly face who may point her in a positive direction. She pushed open the ornate set of doors, and marveled at the large hall. She stepped in slowly, her footsteps echoing loudly off of the large building's walls.

Lucas Purevelion

Lucas Purevelion was tracing his fingers along the dusty old book edges, hundreds and hundreds of rows of lather-faced books. They ranged from different dull colours, and varied in how much dust was gathered on them. Not many people visited the Grand Library, but Lucas needed to find answers, he needed to understand.

With one hand behind his back and another still following the books on the third shelf up, he heard the colossal doors at the entrance opening, an unfamilar sound at that. He got back to his book finding at the pedastal as the giant green and gold orb revealed itself to him. It was an index for the library, there are several dotted around the entire complex. Then Lucas heard the steps of a person walk in and he leaned back to look up the staircase, where the young girl was standing. Identifying that it was indeed a young person who is unlikely to cause any trouble, he felt comfortably continuing his search for knowledge in the index orb before him.

((feel free to approach him, he's a kind guy))

Cora couldn't believe the quantity of books around her, it was like a dream. She peered all around, so happily overwhelmed that she barely focused on one thing. She half-noticed a staircase looming downwards, and began to step down it slowly, relishing each step further into this wondrous collection of knowledge.

Halfway down the staircase, she realized a man had been there the entire time. His stance alluded that he may be a calm man, but it wouldn't be wise to trust off of assumptions. Should she call out to him? No, not in a library. Should she approach him? Perhaps. If he was a danger, her only means of defense were her nails and teeth. Cora took a deep breath, prayed it was quiet enough so he wouldn't notice her uneasiness, and stepped down the staircase a little faster than her earlier relaxed pace.

"Pardon me." Cora stood behind the man, but a careful distance away. She purposefully pitched her voice to a soft tone, so not to startle or disturb the great silence of the library. "Can you tell me where we are? I'm a bit new to the area." Cora decided it would be best to leave it at that; no need for him to know she is not of this world. She attempted to stand tall and appear confident.

Peering through the flawless magical orb he was trying to find the type of book he needed, and section that he'd need to go searching for in the incalculable floors of the library. Suddenly a shadow stretched beside him, and then a voice pardoned him. Turning, his layers of cloth and hair swirled around him as he looked upon the girl. "yes?" he answered softly with a slight smile, as if to greet her. He didn't hesitate to answer her, he said "You're in the Grand Library of Kuj'anast, in The Shard." he paused for thought. For someone who doesn't know where they are, she appeared pretty confident, but then why would she be roaming the wilds and stumble across Kuj'anast.

As the helpful and dedicated member of the Injustira Syndicate, he offered his aide. "is there anything i can do for you, miss...?" he was asking for a name, with a soft tone and slight smile at the corner of his lips to show he was kind.

A name. Should she lie? What difference does a name make? Though it may show how foreign she is; Cora didn't know how names sound in this world. A last name may be strange, so maybe just her first?

The thoughts rushed through her head in less than a second. With just the slightest breath of hesitation, she answered, "Cora. I'm just looking to get some bearings. I was out admiring the wilderness and I've gotten quite lost." Cora felt a slight guilt for the stretched truth. The man appeared accommodating and kind, but she still felt the need to be cautious in this new territory. 'Well,' she thought to herself, 'that's the truth if you look at it in a broader perspective...'

"I don't know anyone here. Would you be able to help me, mister...?" Now it was her turn to ask for a name. She was anxious to see if her name may fit in.

So, she was called Cora, a pretty name Lucas thought. She managed to get lost in quite the location, she was lucky to come across Lucas, really, no one else was in this cascade of libraries, and the nearest spotlight of civilisation was... well, shard City. And she didn't know anyone around here either? How unfortunate. "oh" he began softly, "I'm Lucas, Lucas Purevelion of the Injustira Syndicate" he added his membership too, it was a regular thing to do if you were in a guild. So for now he presumed she wasn't in a guild, probably from Neutral City.

"If its a nearby city you're looking for, i'd be more than happy to show you the way. Or if you happen to be going near Skyfall i can always offer you travel" he spoke so kindly, and with a wise tone too.

Cora hesitated. Her fingers started to play with the hem of her shirt, her expression blank. She was at a dead end. She couldn't ask him what the Injustira Syndicate was. The way he said it so plainly, it appears to be common knowledge. Cora did not even know of Skyfall, nor if that was the place she wanted to be. Even if he did lead her to a city, what then? Cora berated herself for not considering solutions to the long-term questions.

Cora could only consider one option: the full truth. She prayed this was not a mistake. Cora re-straightened her shoulders, pulled her hands from her shirt and folded them calmly in front of her, and willed herself to stare straight into Lucas' eyes. It was an action she normally hated; her eyes always deceived her and allowed people to see her vulnerabilities. That, or they would change topics to how unique her eyes were. "Can you truly help me? If I tell you the full honesty of my situation?" Cora ensured that her gaze was serious, yet not harsh. Under the facade of a calm and wise woman, Cora prayed that her heart would sink out of her throat and into its normal position.

When he gave her her options, Lucas had expected some sort of yes or not, or thank you or no-thank you. But instead she stared into his eyes with a gleaming aqua connection. At that moment he knew, she was a Fae, and the fae were usually true to their hearts... like beautiful children of the Eternal that gave themselves to the beauty of life.

And she asked for true help, he then felt something was more dire than she had already let on, and Lucas Purevelion was never one to turn down a request for help, as it was always deserved if asked for. He smiled calmly and slowly replied to her honestly. "I can try my best, Cora. And if i can't, hold it against the people of Skyfall." it was like a promise, he knew that to anyone who knew basic knowledge of Magic Earth, saying something like that meant Skyfall had high expectations for Lucas Purevelion, but in this case... she didn't.

The phrase of confidence was lost to Cora. Interpreting it literally, she murmured, "Well, let's hope they don't hear of me in Skyfall and try to interfere, then." Cora kept her gaze strong, determined to analyze his reaction to news that she could only assume was unnatural and foreign. "I'm not from this world, Lucas."

Cora immediately rambled, vocally admitting what her heart and mind had finally realized: "I'm lost in a world I know nothing about. I'm from another Earth, I suppose? I don't know... Two wondrously kind dragons guided me. I lived in a beautiful place called Florida, between the forests and the sea. The other night I was anxious and I quit my job, drove to the Keys, and... Now I'm here. I don't know how or why, but I don't want to go back; I truly can't go back--" Suddenly realizing the imposition of her ramblings, Cora grew silent. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have gone on so much with my troubles. If I'm truly honest, I am ignorant to everything here and I am terrified and alone."

As she revealed her inner secrets, Lucas listened on and the more she spoke the more he began to realise how she must feel. She was quite the rambler, he thought, telling everything and anything as fast as possible until she could realise it. His attention was pulled in specifically after mention of the dragons... most possibly of the Crossing. "From Non-Magic Earth? That's strange" he said. "It's very rare that a mundane finds there way through the border" he was talking to himself almost, until he remembered her eyes. "But you're not mundane, do you realise that? Your eyes, they're not so beautiful for no reason." and then he presumed she would be asking why. "you're a Fae, Cora. Half human, half infused with the magical essences of nature"

For the first time since entering this world, Cora smiled just the slightest bit. "I've read of Faes, in stories. I'm no fairy-thing, I'm not from here. I've never even left Florida before coming here." Cora sincerely thought he may have been testing her knowledge or maybe even just joking. Her smile faded and she lowered her eyes, a bit more reserved now that she had vented all of her confusion. "I'm no different than anyone else; my eye color is what it is because of genetics."

"I'm sorry" he said, not woefully, but because she didn't understand, and that he may have been a bit forward. "I understand you must be frustrated, here" he said, his hand brushing beneath his robe to reveal the hilt of a sword, but the blade was missing. As he pulled his hand back out a glowing light hovered above his palm, it was like a pure white source of light with a dusty white essence floating off of it. He placed it between them and it turned to glowing white dust that gleamed light around them. The essence moving in waves to take form into anything he was trying to describe.

"You're right, you're no different, and yes, it is genetics... but there's more to it that that. A long time ago, before civilsation there was a fallen star, and tribes came to worship it. " then the magical essence between them turned into a white hill, and a white stone henge. "they built Stonehenge where it landed, after many years some learned its powers, and magic was born. even further down the line these people became known as the Eternal" the essence showed humans that glistened brightly and aided the others in building pyramids, and other great monuments. "They soon divided, evolving into other people, Magic Humans, Elementals, High Elves.. and Fae. " he paused for a second, realising this is some bundle of information.

Swiping his hands the essence scattered and accumulated to show "What i mean to say, is that after all these, after these races you talk of in myth, in fairy tales, existed, everyone that was connected to the Eternal eventually relocated here, in Magic Earth, everything that Earth isn't. but some, cora, some stayed in your Earth, where they stayed hidden, sometimes travelling between worlds." the essence showed glowing people vanishing and reappearing. He then canceled the spell as the white glow glided back under his robe and vanished. "I bet your family is all Fae, you know" he now spoke like it was all more interesting, and not so bad. "They probably just chose to stay in Non-Magic Earth, you see?" he ended with a small smile.

she was lucky to have come across Lucas, he was very knowledgeable in history, it was his job, in the Syndicate, knowing law and history, and justice was everything.

Cora watched the essence, simply entranced. It was one of the most beautiful things she had seen. As Lucas told the history of the Magic Earth, Cora recalled Justice and Virtue, who told her that all of the fairy tales and mythos were true. She just couldn't feel certain about her being a Fae. True, she did have a strange kinship with most of the animals she met, but who doesn't? They're one of life's best gifts, after all.

Cora felt a great gratitude for Lucas' patience with her. It was because of this gratefulness that she immediately regret the words that ever so quietly slipped from her mouth: "I wouldn't know about my family. I've never met them." Hasty to change away from such a solemn and awkward topic, Cora spoke up a little, pretending that the previous thought meant nothing to her. "So, what have I disrupted you from doing? It appears that not many people come to this library, though I don't know why they wouldn't." Cora felt wrong asking so much when he clearly was here for a reason. She hoped she may be able to assist him as he has with her.

She was thankful, and so was he, it wasn't so often he got to share his knowledge. She was mature, he could tell that too, she didn't dwell on matters for too long... she was almost to the point, she accepted things, she didn't try to deny it. That was something this world needed more of.

When she mentioned what he was doing, he widened his eyes for a moment to remember, and then he looked at the massive orb beside him. "I'm just here looking for some lost information, for the Syndicate" he said, then realising she won't know what the syndicate is. After looking to her he was realise he was right and found the location of a particular book using the orb. Luckily it was on the shelves nearby. Walking over to one of these he pulled out a grey leather book, dusty from all the years as he blew off the extra. Opening it up there were old scribbles and drawings written within. He turned it to face Cora and with his spare hand pointed at the image. It showed tall straight edged towers in the sky.

"There are five guilds in Magic Earth, Arcaz Sovereignty, Castayu Del'yir, Conclave of Declasia, Asmodius Corps and the Injustira Syndicate - Which i'm a part of. It's common for anyone to align with a guild, or to remain neutral. It's like different groups in America that get elected to govern. Our guilds all work peacefully together, governing different parts of life. For me, the syndicate governs law and order, justice and protection"
