I. Students will introduce themselves to the professor by stating their name and house.
Homework: Read Chapters One and Two in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade One.
Lesson One: Wingardium Leviosa
Time: Two Weeks, Six Remaining
I. Students will review the four essentials of spell casting (concentration, wand movements, pronunciation, and visualization) in regards to the Levitation Charm.
Pronunciation: win-GAR-dee-um lev-ee-OH-sa
Wand Movement: Swish and Flick!
II. Students will practice casting the charm on feathers.
Homework: Read Chapters Three and Four in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade One
Lesson Two: Lumos
Time: Two Weeks, Four Remaining
I. Students will review the four essentials of spell casting (concentration, wand movements, pronunciation, and visualization) in regards to Lumos.

II. Students will practice casting the charm in the darkened classroom.
Homework: Students will read Chapter Five in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade One
Lesson Three: Incendio
Time: Two Weeks, Two Remaining
I. Students will review the four essentials of spell casting (concentration, wand movements, pronunciation, and visualization) in regards to Incendio.
Pronunciation: in-SEN-dee-oh
Wand Movement: Trace the outline of a flame
II. Students will practice casting the charm to light a candle.
Homework: Read Chapter Eight in The Standard Book of Spells, Grade One
Lesson Four: Spongify
Time: Two Weeks, None Remaining
I. Students will review the four essentials of spell casting (concentration, wand movements, pronunciation, and visualization) in regards to Spongify.
Pronunciation: SPUN-jih-fie
Wand Movement: Backwards "S"
II. Students will practice casting the charm on hard stools.
