When his sister announced her decision to choreograph some new acts for an upcoming festival celebration, Tayyib had supported her. Being called upon from time to time to demonstrate a new dance move or try out an extended dance pattern would cut into his leisure time, sure, but he was happy to support her dream.
What he hadn't expected was just how much time it would take. Unlike his parents, his sister lacked experience to fall back on, and the process dragged out. Her perfectionism gradually came to eat up almost all his leisure. Finally he put his foot down during a particularly knotty seession, suggesting to her that it might be more helpful to take some time off and gain a fresh perspective on what wasn't working out.
Her reluctant acceptance sent Tayyib bounding off to Yaholo's home. His best friend had arrived home to a hero's welcome a while back, and the Leaf prentice had seen him around the settlement, but they hadn't had time to catch up. It was well past time to remedy that.
It didn't take him long to reach his best friend's abode. Hanging upside down from a sturdy branch out front, he started to flick pebbles, one after another, at the door.

At first it seemed that nobody was coming to the door, as there was no sound from inside. However, after a few minutes, Yaholo poked his head out the door, his antenna twitching wildly. He looked a little tired, or annoyed at least, until he spotted Tayyib hanging from the branch. "Taaaaay!" He cried, scurrying outside. "Where the heck have you been? I've been looking everywhere for you!"
He leaped outwards and grabbed onto the tree that Tayyib was on, and swung himself next to his buddy with a grin.
"Have I got some stories for YOU!" He boasted. "You won't believe some of the crap I've gone through! Augh!"

Tayyib was about halfway through his handful of pebbles, wondering if he ought to searching elsewhere, when Yaholo came to the door. The Leaf youth's hopeful face shaded contrite as he noted his friend's expression. Weary or annoyed, he couldn't quite decide. It had really been much too long since they last saw each other, he thought regretfully.
"Sorry, bad time?" he asked, worried. But Yaholo was already joining him in the tree, to his relief. It might have been a long time, but their friendship hadn't changed.
Letting the remaining pebbles rain down between his fingers, Tayyib grabbed the branch and pulled himself up to sit properly next to Yaholo. "You know my family -- rehearsals upon rehearsals." Smiles always came easily to him, but the grin he offered his friend now was radiant with delight. "Glad your adventures haven't charmed you away from us altogether. I'm all ears for your stories."

Bad time? Heck no, it was perfect timing! He had been looking everywhere for Tayyib and there was nothing that was going to keep him from catching up with him! He scooted closer to the red head and echoed his grin. Tayyib would never know just how much these talks meant to him.
"Oof, non-stop rehearsals again? Where's your time for a break, Tay?" Yaholo sighed, chuckling lightly. "You should come with me to Jauhar for a day, you'd have fun!" Sure, maybe it wouldn't be relaxing, but it would be fun! "Anyway, you ready to hear about my mom? She's awesome! Oh, and, I've got another sister! I'm not sure if word has traveled about her just yet, but she was the other Youngling I had to rescue along with Pahana! She's a terror, but I love her just the same!"
