Did some dumb thing at 30 that got her laid up for a week or two, couldn't ride for a few months.
MORE STUFF.
She kind of accidentally didn't Revolution? Was unaware of why there was violence and booked it to her cothold instead of Trine. Hit up Trine after figuring out wtf happened.
Midlife crisis at 42, decided to be a weyrlingmaster, is currently working towards that.
SHE'S PRETTY MUCH LOVING LIFE ATM
Lee was born Leond, the long awaited last child and only son to a pair of Weavercrafters in Havenk Hold. He had four older sisters, three female felines, and was constantly being pushed to be a smoothing talking, debonair sort of man his father always wanted in a child. Think Gaston from a certain movie - all swagger and prettied up hair, big shoulders and a loud, masculine, manly voice. Leond completely failed to live up to that ideal, falling over his words and trying to be classy when he should have been steamrolling over those quieter kids.
Can't win 'um all. His father proceeded to be disappointed and pushy, verbally attacking Leond whenever something did not go exactly as he wanted or whenever Leond acted less than expected. Leond's mother and four sisters did not appreciate this. At all. It caused upset in the household, mixed with yelling and Leond doing his damnedest to stay away from it. He started to learn what was technically Harpercraft but in reality was learning stories and epics and poems in order to entertain the children of the Hold whose parents had more important things to do. Epics and poems and teaching children them were important, right? He knew the basics of tailoring from his family life, and eventually, at sixteen, his father dragged him away from the storytelling to start learning For Serious on the whole Weaving thing.
Between the ages of sixteen and twenty-three, Leond learned quite a few things about himself: he sort of hated everything about Weavercraft despite being good at tailoring and designing, women held no appeal, and he was not a man. The last part was the most important part, brought into the light by the same woman who made it very visible that Leond had no interest in women. Amille and Leond began to 'see' one another when they were both twenty; Amille liked women and they clicked in the same way any conspiring young adults would. He kept her parents happy, and she kept Leond's parents happy. Through Amille, Leond came out of his shell, fessed up, and she assisted in making pretty clothes for Lee.
At twenty three, stuff happened in those aforementioned clothes. Lee wore them, went home, all pretty and what have you, and her father threw an absolute bloody fit. There was yelling involved. He had all the women in the household on his case, and all of them on Lee's side. It was a truly awesome sight. Seriously. If only you could see the scene.
Even with the scene of epic, Lee booked it to Torkel not a sevenday later. A Searchriders dragon turned to her and said, You. and just like that, she'd been Searched. Amille stayed, unSearched, and with no desire to be a rider, and the vast majority of Lee's family bade her a farewell until Sometime In The Future.
Enter Torkel Weyr.
Lee stood for clutches for two turns. She looked horrible in white and disliked walking away from the Sands after watching the happily bonded frolic gaily off into the sunset of the Weyrling barracks together. The Weyr was nice enough - she returned to Weavercrafting and hit up the tables at twenty-five, finding the Craft much more relaxing without the constant family pressure breathing down her neck. She made friends, grew comfortable in her new skin and life, and prepped herself to spending the rest of her life without a dragon. Returning to the Hold was not a possibility. Making pretty clothes for riders was.
The last hatching before she aged out, a wonky little orange burst from it's shell like a bat out of hell. It chirped and barked, generally tearing up the rest of the Sands, more distracting then destructive. The orange flopped then at the tall womans feet and stared up at her with rainbow eyes. I'm tired now. Let's eat. The rest of them can hatch later, Lee.
And that was that. Lee was Orangerider Lee of Lycath and the pair never looked back. Their Weyrling years were typical - Lycath was a team player, more for taking orders from the higher rankers and making sure the others could keep up. Lee just liked not screwing over everyone. Uneventful, fun in it's own way, the two proved to be a capable pair. As soon as she was able, Lee applied/offered/what have you to be an assistant to the Weyrlingmaster. She likes small things. They both like helping the smaller things learn not to be stupid. And since cut off is 25, they're all younger then her anyway.
Description: Lee is tall, hitting 6'2" in flats with her shoulders back. She's best called 'distinctive'. Lee has strong features, complete with a long, straight nose, high cheekbones, and a firm curve of a jaw. The severity is softened somewhat by her eyes, dark and thickly lashed, and full lips. She attempts to keep her hair back in some sort of loose bun and often time fails in the midst of the day, ending up in little strands sticking up each way. She's invested in pretty things to hold her hair and it seems to be working okay so far. When it's down, it falls to the middle of her back and is a pain in the butt to keep untangled. She started going gray around 39, a fact that delighted her, and was one of those lucky people who aged in patches so she has streaks of gray and silver threaded throughout her hair. Most of her hair accessories now match to some extent either the silver or the clothing she has on at the time.
When it comes to clothes and accessories, Lee is a fan. She only has a pair of large hoop earrings that she wears and a large wooden bracelet, worn and smooth over the turns, but her clothing is impeccable, preferring to keep to full skirts and high-collared dresses. Skilled tailors have a way of keeping her shoulders from looking too broad, cinching her waist in enough to actually curve and accentuate, and she quite adores her pretty clothing. Her Serious Ridertime Gear is practical and sturdy, but off-time requires nice things. Lee does, however, always wear makeup. She is not above carrying small amounts of it with her just in case and she is quite good at it, but there will never be a time without Lee in makeup, unless a fire is started at 3AM some idle day.
Personality: (COPY PASTED FROM AN OFFSITE GAME, WILL BE EDITED ACCORDINGLY)
When she'd been younger, Lee had issues with talking to people - she stumbled and had absolutely no filter, more insecure than herself than anything else. Age has healed that somewhat, and so hasLycath. Lee is wonderful with children when first meeting them and she enjoys weyrlings of all ages. She chills with weyrlings or her Craft instead, avoiding those of higher rank until called to the wingdrills or Meetings and everything else Responsible Adults have to do in order to make it through day to day life in the Weyr. Outside of first impressions, and once she's more comfortable with the persons around her, Lee is able to relax into her natural personality of dry, blunt wit and, sometimes, her soft-natured side. The two aren't always exclusive. The only time Lee doesn't fumble all her stuff up on first (or second or third) meetings with those More Important Than herself is when she is working; her professional manner is something she takes pride in, regardless of the situation. She can keep her act together, though any personal questions can still knock her off her game. The best bet of getting a conversation without stumbling or horrible things would be hitting her up during work, where she has to pretend to know what she's doing, whether it be in the barracks or the Crafters area.
Lee has a BS Meter higher than yours and it Beeps. Loudly. Flirting does not fly over her head - Lee generally knows when she's being hit on. She just pretends she doesn't. It means she can stay classy and avoid awkward conversations and even more awkward breakup situations. That's sort of high on her list of things not to do.
She is energized. She may not twitch or fidget, nor will you see her talking fast and high pitched, but the woman constantly has at least three things on her 'To-Do' list. Having less than all these attention grabbing things results in Lee losing focus, and she could very likely abandon the project as being 'too boring' unless there is something else actively distracting her at some point. Were she an internet kid, she'd have an art program up, four IM's going at once, music playing, six RP posts to do, and a homework assignment due, and would hop from one to the other until they were done. Since she isn't an internet kid, Lee decided to be a useful thing by working with weyrlings, diubg her dragonrider duties, and throws in time with her Crafting as well. She is the MASTER of living off of klah and four hours of sleep - maybe less if there is an emergency going down.
Being smart does not make her an incredible genius; the only reason she's succeeded so far is because she's kept busy and is never lacking in interesting things to learn. Weyrlings make sense to her. Stitches and draping are a math problem in and of themselves, puzzles to be solved, and in both situations, you get a finalized result of a dragonrider pair fit for battle and a nice dress. It is satisfying. Try and ask her to break down a sentence, though, and she'd just stare at you like you've grown six heads and sprouted blue hair. Weyrlings are the best thing ever and she takes pride in their accomplishments and tries to help with the ones who get hurt or don't do as well as they hoped. The complete and utter lack of a social life does not help her break this habit of doing ALL THE THINGS as unless a person is endeared by awkward, she has a difficult time at it. She tries to be sassy. It doesn't work.
When she thinks she's alone, Ler sings or talks to herself. The former is more frequent; she's not amazingly talented, managing to barely carry a tune, but her memory serves her well in remembering lyrics to Harper songs, ballads, and the poems of older times.
Despite her overall niceness, Lee has her Issues. She is insecure about herself and her life, she isn't sure if she's making a difference, and that upsets her more than she'd care to admit. the orangerider is well aware that by isolating herself with her work that she is keeping a wider variety of friends away, like a shield of Busy. Putting pressure on her for these things upsets her, though she doesn't lift her hand in violence, and picking on one of Her Kids is simply not allowed. Cruelty in general is a Beserk Button for her. She is tall and imposing when she wants to be, oh yes she is, and her tongue lashings hurt. This isn't out of any sort of justice or the desire to keep people from the truth of "People suck a lot of the time", which is something she believes despite attempting to convince herself otherwise, but simply because they are Smaller and it isn't fair. Lee likes fair.
