Hi, my name is Professor Drusilla Faithe Somerset.I'm a female. I will be your Divination teacher I'm 23 years old. My birthday is January 12, 1999.My dream job is to touch all the stars and learn their names. My blood status is pure as the flowing water of a river, running as black as the night through my veins.The house I'm in is the door darkened by the Eagle’s wing, protected by talons. I'm interested in people, people are interesting… oh, to see romantically? What a silly question. But I suppose I prefer men to women, at least most days of the week. Ask me tomorrow; perhaps my answer will change.I'm currently with myself, and the ones who sing to me. One of them is off-key; she’s my favorite. I may seem very together and on-point, but I'm really not at all sure my head is on straight. I’m quite certain it’s at an angle. Does it look angled to you? I can’t quite tell. My background story is that well, my mother thought I was an odd duck; when I got the visions she understood, though. It was a trait passed through my father’s line; she never said if he had it, though. He died when I was only three. Strangest thing is that my mum says that for the week before, I would hold onto him with a strange look on my face, like I were gazing past what I was looking at. Most of my childhood was plagued with visions; and apparently, I would spout of nonsense at the strangest of times. I don’t recall any of this; my memories of my childhood are rather hazy. I was always seeing the future clearer than the past. Even now, I have a hard time truly focusing at times. I can do so for brief periods, such as when I’m teaching, but most of the time, I’m far away, gazing into things that others can’t yet see. I attended Hogwarts like any other child, of course, and was sorted into Ravenclaw. The hat said that I had brains behind all those voices and visions; I just needed to find them. I did try rather hard my first few years, truly I did, but, well, it was just rather difficult. I managed to make fairly decent grades, although nothing a ‘True Ravenclaw’ would be proud of, according to my mother. She was a Ravenclaw, too… my father was a snake, and my mother an eagle. Does that make me a Wyvern? I’ve never tried to crawl on my belly, or fly through the sky, but if I tried, could I? I suppose… but then, I’m also an eagle, and my head is always soaring through the clouds. I suppose… I suppose I’m an eagle then. But what of my scales? What of my fangs? Shall I shed these? But then, what will I leave the children?
My only lesson where I excelled was Divination, although I think perhaps my professor only gave me top marks so I’d stop making horrible predictions about her horrible death. I was told that I was quite like another Seer she’d known once. She never suspected I was doing it just to agitate her. I rather didn’t like her, actually… But I suppose it would be rather hard for a Seer to fail a lesson where you learn to see what a Seer can already see, wouldn’t it? Imagine how funny that would be, to fail such a lesson.
Once I graduated, I spent some time with myself, trying to focus. I lost track of how long that was; it was from when I graduated to my mother’s death this year. Without her around, I had to find some way to take care of myself. I’ve learned to stay on track long enough to hold whole conversations, although sometimes I get lost in them. But holding a job would be rather difficult for me, or so I thought. But Hogwarts was looking for a new Divinations professor, so of course I decided that would be perfect. I am skilled at all methods of Divination, and I’ve learned to focus long enough to lecture (I know because I practiced in my room). Working so closely with so many ensures that I will stay on track and be sure I take care of my needs… I have a bit of a problem with forgetting to eat. I enjoy conversations, when I can hold them. I also like kitties and bunnies and other fluffy things, and sweets of all sorts. I also enjoy being lucid, which I’m proud to say I am more often than not currently, and I enjoy it when my dreams are just dreams.I despise that the shadows lurk and won’t just speak. Why can’t they speak? And that the dust bunnies huddle and play when I’m not looking, because I would like to play, too, and I think it’s bad manners not to invite me when they play under my bed. I also dislike when I eat all my dinner and don’t get dessert. And when the clouds hide the moon from me, and I can’t speak to her. And that the stars don’t tell me their names. They say we have to meet first, but I can’t reach them yet.I'm afraid of the dark places in my mind, where the evil things hide. I don’t know if they’re part of me, or just the visions lurking, but I can see them in my mind and they frighten me.My strengths are that I can stay lucid and interact with people! It sounds like it’s not a big deal, but it is to me. I assure you, I’m quite capable now. My flaws are that sometimes my gaze wavers and I see the future more clearly than the present. I look like Juliet Landau. My wand is a shaft of Silver Lime, with a core of Unicorn hair, exactly 13 inches in length. My pet is a Half-Kneazle, although I wouldn’t call her my pet so much as my companion. I mean, I don’t exactly care for her or own her, she owns and cares for herself. Her name is Darla, and she’s quite the hellion. We get along wonderfully… most days. But she’s quite the bossy thing.My O.W.L. Scores Were: Astronomy A

Welcome, students, to Divination I, II, III, IV, V.

spaceHogwarts students must make quite the trek to find the Divination Classroom. Located in a room at the top of one of the towers, they must climb a spiral staircase leading to a floor with a ladder leading up into the classroom. It is a large, round room, kept dark by preference of the new professor, Drusilla Somerset. It is lit entirely by the candelabras that adorn the many tables, as well as a few floating votive candles here and there. The tables, in rows of six with a path down the middle, are topped with old lace tablecloths, and are large enough for two students to sit together. There are two cushioned parlor chairs behind each table. Each row is a level higher than the one in front of it to ensure that the front of the classroom can be seen from everywhere. The central focus is a large, old-fashioned desk, upon which a large crystal ball sits, as well as a stack of papers and a copy of the textbook. Against the walls of the room are shelves and cupboards, all of which are filled with either textbooks or Divination tools. There are two entire cabinets just for tea sets. Behind the professor's desk is a large board, which reads:

Rules
I. All students are expected to be present for each lesson.
II. Students are not to speak while Professor Somerset or other students are speaking, except in the case that Professor Somerset has allowed individual discussions among students.
III. Students are encouraged to help each other with assignments both in and outside of class, but cheating on tests will result in detentions and deduction of house points.
IV. Assignments should be submitted at the beginning of the class when you sign in. If you miss a lesson, you may make it up in my office.
V. Please bring your own supplies. If you are without, borrow whatever is necessary before I begin the lecture.

☆ Somerset Manor is the traditional family home of the Somerset family ☆
☆ Its only living member is Drusilla Faite Somerset ☆
☆ Drusilla is a Seer, and professor of Divinations at Hogwarts ☆
☆ She lives alone with her cat Darla ☆
☆ She's also not entirely sane ☆
☆ Most of the time she's too busy watching the future to see the present ☆
☆ She has been getting better of late ☆
☆ This is thanks to her employment at Hogwarts and her friend Lulu ☆
