Ethanol felt so happy..she'd never known life could be so amazing, that you could feel so over joyed. While her mate hunted she kept an ever vigilant eye on the little foal, whom had a penchant for mischeif already. "Look now Pali! Look who's come back with a surprise!"

Said foal sat by his mother's feet..little tail wiggling to rustle the grass. "Dat! Dat!" Giggling in delight he hurried to greet his dad, bumping and nipping curiously at Raphael's leg. He wantd to know what was in the basket that smelled so much like him. Was it a surprise? Would it be tasty?

Ethanol tried to contain herself but, ended up laughing..she had her own worries over their son disliking meat but, whatever he chose he'd still be family. Still be beloved..treasured. "Now now. Let Dat sit it down..be a good boy."

Pali puffed himself up a bit, looking as cute as he possibly could, pale blue eyes staring up into his Dat's. "Yes! I wanna!" Peeking and sniffing once more he looked startled when his nose met feathers. Feathers plus a warm body that did not move..how odd. Intruiging as well.

Ethanol watched nervously, hovering over the two she loved more than anything in the world. "Maybe..cut it open my love..let him get a taste." Others who did not understand their ways would be mortified but, she felt it was their right to offer him meat like they ate.

Blinking in surprise the little male stepped back as he was told, then looked down at the offered piece of meat. It smelled..like more than the young colt's mind could ever hope to describe aloud. Though a part of him thought of a sound instead of a word. Yes in that moment of his first sniff Pali's tiny tummy gave a not so mighty growl of hunger. "Food?"

Ethanol was trying, honestly she was! It was simply hard for the mare to not hover..to not peek at her adorable son trying meat and blood for the first time. Though she offered no encouragement and let him choose..just as she herself had chosen so long ago to to live her life as one who ate both meat and plant life.

Seing as the meat smelled okay Pali gave it a lick, nose releasing a tiny snort of surprise. Blood dotted his mouth, coloring the pale white and black colt's muzzle. Yet he did not stop at a lick..instead Pali flopped down and began chewing with a curious sound at what was obviously, in his mind, food. "Dat! Is yummy Dat!" Giggling with a delighted wiggle he went back to work. For now his tiny teeth didn't do much damage to the meat..still he chewed it till it lost it's flavor..then looked up with hopeful eyes to his father..
