Samudranta bounded down the slope of the mountain as fast as she could, at times barely keeping her footing but somehow always managing to do just that. She swerved to avoid this and jumped to avoid that, and would have laughed if she'd had the breath to spare. She was chasing nothing, in a headlong rush to get nowhere, running just for the sake of running, and running fast for the sheer thrill of it. It was a beautiful morning on a wonderful day to be alive, and this was her way of making the most of it!

As she leapt over a fallen tree, however, her luck and traction finally ran out, and when she landed, she skidded on some loose rocks and went tumbling. The lioness yelped and tried to right herself, but didn't manage anything more than slowing herself down a bit before she thudded into a tree trunk, which stopped her quite handily. If painfully.

Samu watched, upside-down and head spinning, as Tidis flumped over the log. It would have been amusing that they'd both fallen victim to the same silly, dead tree, if she weren't in a barely-coherent jumble. She continued to watch as he got himself together and headed her way, trying to blink the stars out of her vision.

In response to his question, she groaned, and gave her limbs a cautious, experimental wriggle. She still had them all, which was a good sign, and they didn't seem broken, either. "Nnnnghff." With great effort, she rolled herself over, which only brought another wave of dizziness. She sat still until it passed, then finally formed an answer, "'mfine. I think."

The lioness licked her lips and cleared her throat, attempting to regain coherent speech in addition to thought, all of which had been momentarily rattled right out of her head. Good humor, however, had not been, and she grinned as she gingerly bumped her head under his chin. "That makes two of us."

"Please, my hero!" Unable to resist the offer, she batted her eyes at Tidis. "I'd be forever in your debt." She just had to see this.

With the spots finally clearing from her vision, Samudranta sat back to watch the ensuing battle. It was sure to be a sight to see, and oh, it was! She giggled through all of his efforts to show the terrible tree what-for, and was just about to cheer his victory when the tree got its revenge on poor Tidis by swatting him on the butt.

It was too much to take, and the patchy lioness burst into fits of laughter, punctuated by barely compehensible words that might have amounted to "Are you okay?"

But it was hard to tell for sure.
