With all due respect to Wiccans that recognize their truth is but one of many. I have a beef with how some Wiccan books are written. I've found some of them aren't clearly labeled as Wiccan. Now, Wicca has offered history of many culture's practices and made them available; easier. For this I am thankful.

However, these books tend to treat Wicca AS Witchcraft when there are differences between the two. I can understand the grey areas though. Wicca has information that is used in Witchcraft and vice versa. So, you get a natural crossover between practices.

It starts out as the practice of magic according to that culture as we are able to understand it. Then, it turns into a Wiccan ramble of "THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT" ... Basically using a sneaky tactic to enforce their paradigm of truth as the only way of doing things.

Which makes it so I'll skip entire sections of the book because it amounts to little more than Wiccan rambling of their ways. Personally, I work with Lucifer and I loosely identify as a Satanist since I do enjoy the adversarial philosophies I keep finding. I see Satanists, Luciferians, Wiccans, Pagans, and Christians do this. Along with so many other paths and religions.

Honestly? It's very very very thoroughly annoying. I think, we should filter carefully and find our own truths for these reasons. /polite rant.

Seriously, this habit needs to stop.

The problem has been that so many people say that Wicca and witchcraft are the same. It is important to remember that all Wiccans are witches but not all witches are Wiccans. Most are not. The idea is that Wicca is the religion of the witch when in reality witches who had religious practices would have had practices associated with which ever culture they were apart of.

The idea almost falls the same into Paganism in that all Pagans are witches or perform magic of some sort. It does seem that the four major Pagan paths I have found (Celtic paths, Germanic Paths, Witchcraft traditions, and Egyptian traditions) often involve and encourage magical studied and practices while Greek and Roman practices not so much.

Not all pagans are witches. The idea of paganism is you worship more than one god. Although most pagans are witches the term pagan doesn't mean witch. I agree that most books you fund on witchcraft is probably written by wiccans and no they sent interchangeable terms. You might just have to check out some books on ceremonial magick and insert chosen deity into the ritual. I haven't ever looked into Satanism before because I don't believe in the Christian god, and to believe in one is to believe in the other in my opinion.

I, actually see Satan more philosophically and less literally. Adversarial, challenging self and sometimes others to grow/look at all angles of things. This is something I did long before I found any form of Satanism. Basically, the Satanic Adversarial current of "I am going to free think and have a voice even if it offends traditional establishment or offends some" is exactly that in a philosophical nutshell.

There is a pit fall though... Left Hand Path is about restructuring of self. So, your ego comes out, then it gets broken down, consciousness expands. So, when your ego combines with the Adversarial current. Well, it can get very 'foot in mouth' which is one of many reasons why self honesty is so important with Left Hand Path.

Left Hand Path also steps far outside of Christianity. For instance, darker deities like Hecate can be very Left Hand OR Middle Hand path.

Bit of a tangent. Excited to have someone reply. smile

Ah but there are monotheistic Pagan traditions. Pagan does not mean polytheist. Its anyone who does not practice Judaism, Islam, or Christianity.
