Name: Remiel Puskas

Nickname: Remy, El Pupu (By the bratty kids at the museum)

Age: 19

Birthday: September 13th

Sign: Virgo

Gemstone: Sardonyx

Blood Type: B

Fav. Food: Pastries. Every single kind, fluffy, delicious things! Oh and Cream of Potato Soup and Meatball Subs.

Hated Food: Anything with an overly intense taste. Too much salt, too sweet, too much spice, too rich. All those things.

School: Destiny University, though he Works at Destiny City Museum as a tour guide most of the time.

Hobbies:

Hanging Around Delicious Smells: Back in Early Highschool, Remiel definitely was heavy. His biggest weakness... Fresh baked bread. And he ate it and ate it and ate it! Now that he's on his own, and food is more expensive, he's lost most of the weight, but it's STILL hard to resist wandering over to his favorite bakery, or checking out a new open kitchen restaurant. He may not gorge himself on goodies any more, but he will go and sit there with a cup of coffee, just enjoying the scents of the shop.

Role Playing Online: After spending all day in a museum, seeing different time periods, and telling everyone all the information about it, it just seemed natural to Remiel to want to be in those worlds! At night time, or his days off, he goes to his favorite internet forum and pretends he's a character in a different world. His current favorite: The role of a doctor who accompanies a group of warriors who are looking for a new home in a post-apocalyptic Canada.

Wikipedia Surfing: On a near every workday basis, the children he takes about on tours in the museum have questions he can't quite answer. The fastest way to answer these in his free time is to look it up on wikipedia! However, he never stays on the same page for longer than it takes to read it. He enjoys clicking on random links, hopping from page to page, picking up random facts along the way. This could go on for hours and hours, and before he realizes it, it would be time for bed. Random facts pop up from him on occasion when conversations take a turn for boring. All thanks to Wikipedia!

Book Keeping and Reading - Books are something that are just as informative as the internet! At the same time, he reads more fiction than anything else, immersing himself in the worlds that he longs to visit! Still, he'd rather Role Play in that world than simply read about it, so he collects them! Anything with a pretty cover, or with that old world feel, within a reasonable price, will become part of his tiny, cluttered apartment. He doesn't have a couch, no, just stacks of books covered with a sheet and some pillows. He dreams of having a big house, with shelf space for everything, yet he does nothing to actually go about achieving his dreams. Rem often goes about bookstores and libraries, looking for the occasional sale to grab something new on the cheap.

Virtues:

Information Sponge - His ideas aren't new, he's not so creative, but he'd be damned before he'd fail a test or forget a persons name. There are facts that slip by him. Anything that Rem takes to mind can be repeated back pretty easily. Often enough, the information he absorbs is meant to be repeated back, so that he can try to make someone smile with his little tidbits of information. Especially the children that goes on his tours.

Calm - Calm, cool, and collected.. That's how Remiel seems to act in the most stressful situations. From yelling, misbehaving children, to snarky teachers who do nothing but berate students, outwardly, Remiel seems to just grin and bare it. A pleasant smile seems to always be present, and even at the worst of times, his mind is as clear as a cloudless sky. Atleast, it is mainly that way when situations are not specifically about him.

Candid - The words that come out of Remiel's mouth are as earnest and straight forward as they come. He's not going to sugar coat things for you. If that dress makes you look fat, he will tell you and pick out another one. You can come as you are to him, and he won't walk on eggshells to protect your feelings, instead, he'll be as Probably not the best person to come to with relationship problems, because he has no tolerance for anyone who does something bad to you. As much as this is annoying at times, his friends find this very admirable, and value his opinion quite highly, as they know he won't lie to you about anything.

Flaws:

Inferiority Complex - Even if he finds himself good at something, hardly anything will make him feel confident enough to share it. In Remiel's mind, he feels that he can never be the number one at anything; he'll never be the first choice for anything, his work is sub-par, and he will always be nothing more than mediocre at best. Put anything he has given his best effort into next to something better, and he shrinks back against the wall. No one wants to talk about his work anyway. What causes such a feeling? He honestly doesn't know. It's always kinda been there, lurking at the back of his mind since before he could even understand what it was.

Unmotivated - Feeling the way he does about himself and the way he thinks people see him, Remiel finds it hard to find a reason to actively go out and do his best in anything. When it comes to his studies, his grades are just barely passable, not because he finds the work too hard, but because he just asks "why?". What is the point in doing his best? What reason does he have to try to be the best when it will never happen no one will ever see him that way? He has the tendency to give up before even trying, finding it rather pointless.

Superstitious - Evil Eyes, itchy palms, knocking on wood.. Having read so many wiki articles about superstitions and paranormal activities and just being raised in such a household, Remiel finds himself taking extra special care when it comes to anything supernatural. Spill your salt, and he'll be diving over the table to toss it over your shoulder! His actions are often seen as awkward and kinda creepy, and he finds it rather difficult to explain himself at times.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Almond Shaped User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.orange eyes

Hair: His hair is a light, blue green color. The style is Row two, Column five of this reference, but with more fly aways, and his hair is naturally curly, like row one, column four.

Face: His skin is quite pale, from not being outside too often, and He has big ears that accompany a nice round face. His ears seem to end almost in a point, but not quite. He's also kinda stocky, and has been reffered to as having a Samwise Gamgee kind physique.

Clothes: This Outfit~ Perfect, just a bit more raggedy looking and not those colors. I think that would clash with his hair. Ooh, and a Museum of Destiny City Name Tour Guide Name tag!

Knight Title: Ashurbanipal, Page of Mercury

Challenge: Every burned book enlightens the world.

Uniform:

Top -- More of indoor wear.
Bottoms -- Pants
Gloves -- Wintertime, so yes
Belt -- I don't think you can see it
Shoes -- Thin boots
Shoulders -- uh... Just shoulders.
Accessories -- Not sure!

Overall, I have no real idea what I'd like his uniform to look like. Only that the color scheme is on the lighter side of Mercury's scale. He's very much an indoors-y kinda man, and he'd have most likely been inside, working in the archives or hiding out out of the actual really cold places. Though he fights, he'd most likely be at a desk, doing paperwork, or in a lab, doing experiments. I feel like he'd be more towards the tron/sci-fi part of Mercury, rather than the cold.

Weapon

Page - Small, plain, open wooden box of burned book scraps and Ashes

No powers or anything. The ashes can be used to throw in people's faces, but that's about it. The Book pages have text on them in a language that he cannot understand. No page is big enough to hold more than one word.

Squire - a larger wooden box with intricate designs and a handle, over- filled with Burned Book Pages and Ashes

Magic: Old knowledge is beginning to return to the pages, and though still in scraps and pieces, the words on the ancient books holds power that Pergamum has yet to begin to completely understand. One word does stand out to him. "Glitch". With this word in his hand, the ash now possess the ability to distort the vision of whoever it makes contact with (An example of which is here.). It is temporary, and their vision is only partially distorted. Although Whole Images can be seen, there are multiples now, as if a picture was separating by color layers, and it becomes difficult to see which target is the real one. On the whole, however, a person can still understand what's going on, and if they concentrate, they can still manage to move about.

The ash is only effective to who it touches and does not have to make direct contact with the eyes, but is limited to the amount that is in the box. The pool lasts for 40 seconds, though he can release the magic that the ash has at any time.. It can be used repeatedly as long as he doesn't run out of ash. If he moves more than twenty feet away from the affected person, the ash loses any magical properties. (Main Effect: Powered Ash: Vision distortion/Glitching effect. NonPowered Ash: Temporary Blindness, lasting as long as it takes to normally get sand or dirt out of one's eyes, or choking from too much dust.))

Knight - a box larger than his squire form, made of light weight metal with a latch on the side and a handle on top (think of old time metal lunch tins). All of it's intricate designs seem to have a tron-style glow to them. Inside it is filled with frozen bits of Burned Book Pages and Ashes

Magic: As more words become recognizable by the Knight, the stronger his magic becomes. The scraps which he now finds in his box read "Distortion", "Glitch", "Error" and "Vision". As in his squire form, the distance remains the same for his control, though he can now control his ash's effects for 60 seconds, and all vision is lost to the target. All they can see is a steaming of colors, with no shapes or real form, such as this. The frozen bits now sting a bit more when it makes contact.

Cooro Cooro

Hi Cooro! Let's work on getting Remy all approved<3

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:

Remy's hobbies look good for the most part, but I'd love to see a more social aspect added to them, just because hobbies are usually a jumping-off point for RP~

Right now Candid is reading kind of flaw-y, since it highlights how blunt he is - and if someone is very blunt, that might be something I would dislike? So a bit more information on how this is a good thing (people admire him for his honesty) would be great!

Inferiority Complex is somewhat more internalized than I'd like for a proper flaw; you've noted it appears as modesty which seems to negate it being something he would be disliked for! Just removing that, or noting that he behaves in an overly self-deprecating way, would smooth this out for me.

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

I should note that it's not really necessary to have a "cooldown" on how long it takes for the box to refill! Especially since his powers aren't very strong or game-breaking, I see no reason for there to be one at all.

Overall, the powers make sense with the weapon, but aren't very...Mercury, to me? Mercury's themes are technology and intelligence - powers should reflect these!

Songstress Kitsune

ON THE CIVILIAN SIDE:
Hobbies: I edited the Book keeping part a bit, but I'm not quite sure how to edit the others. He's not very "got out there and do things" unless invited, or something goes and triggers something for him. I thought his love of smell (visiting coffee shops), working at the museum, and his gathering of books at bookstores and libraries would be good enough. If you have any other suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Candid: Edited it! People like his honesty and value his opinion!

Inferiority: removed the Modesty Tidbit~

ON THE POWERED SIDE:

I was thinking more about what you said about his powers, and I'm not quite sure how to edit it. I had figured his power would be fine, as he is controlling the pieces of paper and ash with the ancient words that are written on it. So he's using that ancient knowledge to fight, which would be intelligence, right?

I had originally thought about the pieces of paper being little nanobots that he could control and do all sorts of weird things with and gradually got stronger, with the ability to do more things, but that seemed a bit too OP'ed to me.

Civilian side looks great, with the tweaks you've made!<3

However, the powers as they are really aren't Mercury - I see what you're going for, but it's a bit too far of a leap as far as I'm concerned? As it is, it's really just boosting his ability to control the ashes.

Other Mercury Knights whose powers pop to mind are Alexandria, who overloads his opponents' mind with knowledge; Babylon,w ho boosts allies' accuracy; and Lina, who caused a static or dial-up type tone in her opponent's head that was painful and distracting.

Songstress Kitsune

interestingly enough, I chose his powers based on the fact that his wonder, a large library, was burned to the ground by the Babelyonians. (forgive my spelling, typing on a cellphone was always a problem for me.) The idea of the remains was to be the few last remnants of the original library, before it was recovered and relocated to mercury. i also know that he became a knight in order to protect his library, just as the king of nineveh did before it was destroyed.

i want to keep his weapon the same, the chest of ash, but instead of controlling it, perhaps we can think of something else it can do. With such few examples of Mercury Knights, I can't really think all too much about what his powers could do. anything that does pop to mind reminds me of an old way to store recipes, with each one on an index card. XD

Maybe an illlusion of sorts? using the ashes to bring up the images of how glorious his old library used to be, mezmorizing the opponent. then again, that seems more like a memory thing, which isn't very mercury at all... Any suggestions?
