Yaholo had finally recovered enough from his injuries to travel great distances again, which was a huge relief. He was getting more than just bored sitting around in Yera! It wasn't like he didn't love his family, or that his village wasn't enough to keep him busy, but he could only take so much of his sister's dancing and his mother's coddling. He was growing up and needed to see the world before it was too late!

He made a rather quick decision that he wanted to travel to Sauti, a place his father had always chatted on and on about. Apparently they had some friends there, a small family of Wind Tribesmen who hunted for a living. While Cusick wasn't sure of who was still living there, which made Yaholo feel slightly awkward about going if he were to arrive and find that no one was there, he was confident that at least one person Yaholo's age would be there to greet him. With his father's confidence in mind, Yaholo packed his things and set out for the village of Mez.

The names he had been given, jotted down quickly on paper by his father, were each described by a defining trait or two. Mycah was scruffy, but good natured. Fakih could be an idiot, make sure to respect him. And Natsu was someone you could trust with your life. The thought of finding someone his own age with that level of care for others made Yaholo smile. He hoped he would be able to greet Natsu first, instead of Fakih, who sounded more insane than respectable. He mulled over each person as he entered Mez and laid his things out in the center of the village, deciding to take a rest before looking for anyone.

Natsu was fairly excited about the coming visitor that Mycah had been chattering on about for the last three days. He was a resident of Tale, but traveled to Jauhar each day, and was half-Alkidike, which piqued Natsu's curiosity. He had never met an Alkidike before, despite all his travels to Jauhar, but this one was a half-breed, too! What would he look like? What would he act like? Would he want to go running around Sauti with him? He damn well hoped so!

He had woken early on the day that this guest was due to arrive and prepared his satchels, just in case he would be traveling around with this man. Everyone else was still sleeping or slowly waking up, which meant that Natsu would be the first to greet the traveler! He would show him all around Mez and then out to the rest of Sauti, if he could! TODAY WAS GOING TO BE AWESOME!

A pair of blue eyes peered out from a tent flap and spotted Yaholo sitting upon the ground, sorting through all his things. That HAD to be him! Okay, okay, be COOL!

"You must be Yaholo!" He exclaimed, bounding right to his side. "Welcome to Mez and to Sauti in general! Did you have an easy journey?"

Yaholo peered up from his seat on the ground as Natsu greeted him and grinned. Wow, this must be Natsu! He looked about his age, around his height, and seemed friendly, which was good. Maybe they'd get along!

"Yep! I'm Yaholo!" He replied, rising to his feet to greet Natsu. "My journey was fine, I can't complain! I did run out of water just before I got here, though, but I saw some pools of water just a minute ago. I can fill my canteen there." He paused, looking the other man over, before continuing. "You're Natsu, right? My father told me that you're an excellent guide! Care to show me around Sauti?"

Natsu stifled a squeal. So this was his new friend! Oh, they were going to have an awesome day wandering together! What would he show him first? The largest lake? The smallest mountain? Maybe he would take him up to meet Viveka! He grinned and shook Yaholo's hand rather furiously.

"I'm the best guide around! He's correct!" He boasted, pulling the other man towards the tents. "And there's no need to go back to the pools for water! We have some stored here if you need to replenish! I'll show you where to find the containers while I go get my traveling gear ready!"

He pulled Yaholo into his tent and motioned to a water container in the corner before rushing through another flap in the side of the tent.
"I just need to get a few things!" He called. "Take as much as you need!"

Yaholo squeaked as he was suddenly tugged away from his belongings and heaved a sigh as he was left in the tent. Natsu seemed fairly excitable, which was both a relief and a stress. He hoped today wouldn't be too chaotic but still a lot of fun! He nodded towards Natsu as he rushed out of the tent again and set to filling his water skin. The container that held the water had a small spout on the side which Yaholo figured was for dispensing the liquid, and grinned at just how cool the contraption was. He would have to make something similar when he went home to Tale!

Several minutes passed by while Yaholo waited for Natsu to return, and he couldn't help but peruse some of the objects and things that Natsu had laying about his room. A few necklaces, some twine and shells, a pair or so of bright orange pants... A giant fluffy cloak? He blinked and petted the furry edges of it's hood. What was this...? It was... So... Weird...

Natsu came bounding back into the tent with his satchels tied around his waist, grinning from ear to ear. He gazed around for his new buddy and hopped straight to his side as he observed his cloak. Oh! He was looking at the cloak he used to visit Viveka! He probably hadn't seen Roati wool before, which was why he was so transfixed by it. He tapped Yaholo's shoulder and gave the cloak a gentle tug.

"This is Roati wool, it comes from an animal native to the continent of Zena to the far east of us." He explained, caressing the fleece gently. "I use this when I travel up to visit my partner and his family. The mountains there are always covered in snow and it can turn your skin blue! Cloaks as heavy and warm as this one are needed for traveling around Zena's cliffs, valleys, and hills."

Yaholo jumped slightly as Natsu came up behind him and relaxed when he began to explain what the cloak was made of. Okay, so it was made out of a material that was from a very fluffy animal, THAT he understood. But... What was snow...?

"Forgive me, but..." He paused, looking to the side. "What is snow? I've never heard of such a thing."

Natsu blinked a few times at Yaholo's question and started to snicker. Oooh, how could he have been so silly? Yaholo was from Tale! They didn't live anywhere near snow! He covered his mouth, stifling his laughter, and smiled.

"Forgive me, I had forgotten that you lived in a very hot place." He explained. "Snow is frozen water from the clouds above our heads that falls down like rain, but comes down softly and stays for a looong time if the area it lands in is very very cold. It's something that Zena is almost always covered in."

Again, Yaholo's face froze. Frozen? Cold? Rain that wasn't rain and falls softly? What the hell? He shook his head to convey that he still had no idea what Natsu was talking about.

"Maybe you can show me this stuff?" He shrugged, rubbing the back of his head. "I've never heard of frozen rain, nor have I seen rain that falls softly... Would you mind showing me this snow stuff sometime while I'm here? I'm staying for a few days at least..."

"Absolutely!" Natsu exclaimed, his eyes gleaming with excitement. HELL YEAH! He would show him ALL OF ZENA in one day if it were possible! They would have snowball fights, drink hot cocoa with Viveka, and climb mountains allll daaaaaay loooong! It would be the greatest day ever!

But first, before they could even dream of going up to Zena, Natsu would have to hurry up and introduce Yaholo to Sauti! He grabbed Yaholo's hand again and tugged him out of the tent and towards the edge of the settlement.

"Okay, so, everyone is asleep right now." He said when he finally stopped running. "We can either go to the beach and swim for a while or head towards the mountains for some climbing. Which would you rather do first?"

Yaholo clenched his hand repetitively after Natsu had let go. This guy had a really strong grip! More reason to like him, he supposed. He paused and tilted his head slightly at Natsu's question. Climbing or the beach? A swim sounded fantastic right about now!

"Let's head to the beach for a little while!" He replied. "Traveling through Tale and then through Sauti has made me very hot. It would be nice to be able to cool off before doing anything strenuous like climbing."

Natsu let out a very shrill squeal and latched onto Yaholo's arm again.
"THEN LET'S GO SWIMMING!" He cried, dashing through the rocks and trees in front of them. He had hoped that Yaholo would choose to go swimming! Early morning swims were the best things EVER! The water was cool, the air was perfect, and the sun wasn't beating down upon you!

The sand hit his feet like a welcome mat and burst up while he lead his friend straight for the water. Of course, being ever excitable, he neglected to ask Yaholo if he could swim, and tugged him in anyway. Together they dove as Natsu pulled him down and rose, Natsu's face suddenly filled with fear.

"OH GOD, I'M SORRY I...!" He stammered as Yaholo rose from the water, his hair covering his eyes. "A-are you okaaay...?"

Yaholo hadn't bothered to pull back as Natsu tugged him towards the beach. He was grinning and laughing all the way there! This guy was amazing! Where had he been all his life? A crazy, cheery friend like this was just what Yaholo needed to shake off his weeks of boredom and work! He allowed himself to be practically thrown into the water and came up from the water with a massive grin on his face. AAAAHH YEEESSS, SWEET RELIEF! The water was perfect!

Green eyes settled upon Natsu's worried features and rolled, before he blew his hair out of his face.
"I'm fiiiine! If I hadn't wanted to dive in, I would've fought back!" He exclaimed, smirking. He raised his hands suddenly and began to splash Natsu, before diving back under the water and swimming a few feet away. "Bet you can't keep up with me!" He teased.

Natsu's eyes widened as he was splashed and a giant grin of his own started to form upon his face. OH, IT WAS ON NOW! Yaholo wasn't going to get away with that so easily! He dove after the half-breed man and splashed at him several times.

"You're going to feel the pain of a thousand Sautian Splashes, ye blithering Tale dweller!" He shouted, teasingly of course.

"And ye shall feel the watery wrath of which only the Alkidikes can bring forth, ye spineless rock climber!" Yaholo retorted, slamming his arms into the water to create a mini-tsunami of which to drench Natsu with. He chortled rather loudly as his "hit" caught it's "victim" off guard and dodged the resulting rebuttals with ease.

At the end of all the splashing, the pair decided to linger around the rocks and chat. Natsu had found himself a rock to sit on while Yaholo gathered shells as they talked.
"But, in all honesty, if you were to ask me..." Yaholo said, gathering a few small, purplish shells in his palms. "I think my sister should be sent to some sort of training camp for the critically clumsy or the dutifully ditsy, because she just doesn't seem to be improving with her footing AT ALL."
