On top of loving Vocaloid music so much, some of the videos that have been made for them just make the songs even more amazing.
So, here's some of my favourite Vocaloid videos, and why I love them so much.

Redial by Livetune
This is a great example of how a song I really like can become I song I absolutely love based on a video. The quality of the art and animation in this is spectacular and it's hard for me to think of a video where Miku was more beautiful. heart Even though it's yet another story of Miku being alone in a world that has long since collapsed, her joyful nature still shines through so brilliantly that I can't help but feel some of it.

Project Diva F Opening (Odds and Ends by Ryo) Like Redial, I just love the art and animation for this video, as it's completely top notch in every respect. Add to that, the strong, emotional narrative, and I fell in love with this video immediately.

Continuation of the Dream by Dixie Flatline This one might just be my favourite Vocaloid video of all which, considering the "rudimentary" art and animation, is really saying something, and just goes to show how a carefully crafted story can transcend the medium by which it's told. I don't know how one would ever go about making it happen, but I would desperately love for this video to be re-done by the people who did either of the first two, because imo, it's worthy of receiving the best treatment available.

One of the things that makes me love Vocaloid music so much is how emotionally earnest so much of it is. I think the fact that it's not being churned out by professionals and tailored for the mainstream makes it more honest and real than pretty much everything released for mainstream consumption. The strong messages of love, acceptance and friendship that are at the core of so many Vocaloid songs (and apparently too "uncool" for the mainstream) really resonate with me, and many of the videos that have been made to support them really enhance those sentiments.
