Thamin Akira sniffed and snorted as she rifled through a rather dense bush. She could tell there were berries in it, the scent was overwhelming, but not a single one could she find. She huffed quietly as she suddenly pulled her head out of the foliage, quite bewildered by the situation. Phail Ninja Ladon raised his head towards the direction the wind was blowing in and took a deep sniff. He carefully filtered through the scents, searching for any tasty morsels that might be in the vicinity. Though there was plenty of grass - as well as other bits of foliage - around, the stallion had quite the sweet tooth and enjoyed getting his hooves on whatever unusual foods he could acquire. As his stomach let out a loud growl, he trotted forwards, nose held high in the air. There didn't seem to be anything here, but maybe nearby he would be able to find a nice snack. Thamin Akira continued to search, circling the bush over and over again to no avail. It almost seemed like a very cruel trick that nature was playing on her. Hoofsteps halted her search though. Almost instinctively she jumped straight into the middle of the bush to hide. she peeked through the branches and leaves to see who may be approaching, hoping it was not an unfriendly soquili that may find her to be a nice snack. Phail Ninja Ladon slowly inhaled again. What was that? Was that... He took a few more sniffs. Yes, just faintly there was the scent of some sort of sweetness... berries? His tongue flicked across his lips as his mouth began to water. Berries were exactly what he was looking for. Walking around in a quick circle, he tried to determine the source of the delectable smell. After a few moments, he found himself near the edge of a thick bush. Yes, the smell was definitely one of berries, though he couldn't see them. "Mmmm, I know you're in there. I'm going to dig you out, and you'll be my tasssty snack." His tongue seemed to catch on the 's', stretching it out in an ominous manner.
Thamin Akira began to tremble. The being just outside of the bush she was in hadnt seemed large, the hoof-falls hadnt been the normally loud thuds of the larger soquili, but despite this whoever it was did not seem like a friendly at all. She crouched down as low as she could and closed her eyes tightly. Had it seen her? All she could imagine was whatever it was ripping her out of hiding and eating her. She bit her bottom lip as a whimper began to escape. Oh how she hoped she hadn't been seen or now heard! How was she ever going to escape this situation?!? She fully believed she was a goner. Phail Ninja Ladon chuckled as he almost thought he heard a whimper from the bushes. Yes, the berries should be afraid, he was going to eat them up, and that was that! He stuck his head into the dense matt of leaves and branches, trying to work his way through to the delicious food. Bits of twigs scratched at his face and the delicate skin on his muzzle. With an undignified whinny, he backed out of that bit. There had to be weak spot somewhere in this thing, it was a pretty big bush. Lowering his neck, he tried to see below the leaves to check if there were any big gaps he could work through. But what he saw was neither a gap, nor berries. Four hooves appeared to be planted into the ground, though he couldn't see if they belonged to anyone else. A spark of alarm shot through him. Had someone lost their hooves?!? "H-hello?" He wriggled backwards away from the bush, "Isss anyone there? Are you okay? Did your hoovessss fall off?"

Akira shook even more vigorously, biting down on her lip as hard as she could not to cry out in terror as she herd a chuckle come from the ominous being on the other side of the foliage. And then... She just froze. She relaxed and basically became limp as she huddled in fear. She was beginning to accept that this was the end for her, and since there was no way that she could think of to avoid it she figured she might as well accept it. It seemed as though the entwined branches were keeping the creature at bay for the moment; but... She knew this was the end.
And then the being spoke again. It took a moment for the words to register in her mind. Was it talking to her? Why wasnt she dead yet? Slowly she opened her eyes and let go of her lip. She blinked a few times before she raised her head ever so slightly to look under the leaves to the hooves on the other side of the branches. "You..." She stammered as she watched the tiny hooves. "You arent going to eat me?" She questioned before answering any questions that the other posed.

How peculiar - not only were there hooves in the bush, but the plant appeared to be shaking! Ladon hook a confused step backwards, giving a snort. He'd heard of moving bushes before, of course, but only in the stories he'd heard as a foal, never in real life.
He pressed one ear backwards, thoroughly confused, before peering down to look at the strange hooves again. Only as he did so, a voice began to talk to him. He froze for a second. No way, the bush couldn't be talking, could it? He dipped his head again, and saw a terrified face looking right at him from inside the bush.
Not the bush at all! An Usdia hiding in the bush. A slight frown crinkled the corners of his mouth. "Eat you? Well, ma'am, I am not in the habit of nibbling on people I meet." He wriggled just a little closer, giving her a tentative sniff. Why, she didn't smell of berries or cookies or anything delectable! Why on earth would he eat her? "And, you don't ssseem to be made of out any food-ssstuffff. Sssso I would sssay that you are quite sssafe." He gave a firm nod, daring to give her a quick smile.
