Mirari trotted into the meadow, the sun reflecting off her silver coat. She loved summer; she was born in the middle of it; so the hot, warm sun on her fur had an almost calming effect on her. She hadn't been far out of her herdlands in many moons, so she was hoping someone was about she could talk to and maybe make a new friend? Her fathers were still so protective of her - even though she was obviously a grown mare now. Well, maybe not all the way grown...but not a filly at least.

Thamin It had been quite some time since Linn had left her immediate family or her home; she had been in an extreme bout of depression since her mate had disappeared. She knew he would return, he always did, but it didnt keep her from being saddened by it. But she was feeling much better today. It was almost in an instant that she had gone from her morose thoughts to being her usual self. She wandered across a meadow, lost in examining the flora that surrounded her. It was so vastly different than that of the forest. Suddenly she spied movement out of the corner of her eye and actually jumped in surprise. It was only a young winged mare, but so strong was her concentration that Linn had almost panicked and ran. She paused and pinned her ears back, offering a smile to the mare whom she did not know. "Sorry about that...." She said quietly.

Mirari jumped in response to the newly arrived dark mare jumping, then chuckled to herself at the ordeal. "Oh my, I'm sorry." she said with a warm smile. She tossed her curls over her shoulder and regarded the coal-colored mare; her jet black coat and super long, glossy mane made her quite a sight to see. "Let's try this again, shall we? My name is Mirari. It's nice to meet you!"

Thamin Lin blushed as the mare before her jumped and apologized as well. It had turned into quite a comical predicament she had to admit, and though she felt sorry for startling the mare she felt no need in dragging things out. After all, the mare had already remedied the situation. "Yes..." Linn murmured quietly. "A pleasure it is to meet you Mirari." She added with a slight bow. "My name is Aislinn; though, most hav just shortened it to Linn."

"I love your coat," she said, looking at the intriguing deep black fur of the mare. "But isn't that hot in summer?" The tone in her voice made it clear she was earnestly curious; there wasn't any disdain or mocking in her expression. "Your hair is so long and pretty! I wish my hair would get that long, but it just curls up and gets tangled in things."

Thamin Linn chuckled, feeling quite a bit more at ease and relaxed. She shrugged a bit at the mare's curiosities, debating on the best possible answer. "Well, yes and no. For the most part I stay in the forest where my home is, and in the shade the color of one's coat doesnt have such an impact as in the sunlight. But out here..." She added, looking about to indicate out in the open. "It is a tad bit warmer. I must admit though; it is not unbearable." She blushed a little more at the mare's complement about her mane. "Oh, thank you very much." She started. "If I could I would trade you in a heartbeat. I've always wondered what it would be like to have shorter hair like I had when I was a foal. I've had many compliments on it, but it is so difficult to deal with. It gets tangled all the time, it gets caught on any passing branch or bush, it is so heavy when it gets wet, takes forever to dry... I honestly would give anything to have such beautiful and bouncy curls as yours." She said in all earnest with a slightly embarrassed smile.

"The grass is always greener?" she said and smiled. "Well, I guess I can understand how it may get caught in things, but it is very pretty." She looked around at the meadow, "So do you live around here?"
