I'm doing a poster about saving the flora and fauna for Geography . I have worked out my wording (since that's the most important part of the poster) but I don't think the message from the drawing is quite good. Here's the description of some ideas...

Version 1:

The wording on the top first line curved and the second straight. 'Around' the wording from top to bottom is a forest with some endangered animals around the area. Then, below the second line wording, there's an image of the Earth.

Question here: Does it mean anything to you?

Conclusion: Ideas and comments needed. (Please do not be so hostile during the time of comments. Much appreaciated...)

This is kind of hard to visualize. What is the assignment? Poster layouts and graphics should illustrate main points in the text. Can you summarize your text or at least list (in order) the labels for the section headings?

Here are some general tips that I use when making posters:

1) Put the title across the top and make it big. Make it short and to the point. You want to grab your audience's attention, not put them to sleep.
2) Put your name just under the title. Center both.
3) Organize your text into 3-4 columns. Posters generally read from left column to right column, so start out with an introductory statement, section, or purpose of the poster in the upper left. End your poster with a conclusion or "take home message" in the lower right. Whatever images, diagrams, or graphs that you feel are most important in getting your point across, put in the center column. This is where most people will focus.

Check out this website for tips:

If I'm understanding your idea of the forests and critters image, I think that would be neat. I would put that on both sides of your title/name so that they are in the uppermost left and right corners. I wouldn't overlap the image and text of the title because it may make the title harder to read.

As for curving the text in the title, that might draw more attention to your poster, certainly. You'll have to play around with ideas to see what would look best.

Hope this helped. Good luck.
