Fact. Belladonna had pissed the punk off severely. He was still pissed off--and intent on proving something, on top of it. He did NOT spend dates comparing his date to his ex, okay! The very thought of that made him faintly sick to his stomach, he thought with a scowl as he headed for Circe's dorm room. And he was going to prove it to himself--Bella would never know, because seriously, he didn't ever want to talk to the judgmental, nosy--

Well, either way, he wanted to get away from this campus, and until his official graduation exam came, he couldn't leave officially.

He reached up, paused, took a deep breath to try and calm himself down, focus on what this date was about, and grin slightly. Yeah, forget about Bella and her mermaid biased BS, he thought, Circe had been his pal long before he even met Amphi, so clearly she wasn't comparable. She was Circe!

He knocked. "Yo, Circe! Y'home?" he called through the door.

"Well I promised t'take y'to the freakshow, right?" he said. "If y'ain't busy, I figure t'day's a good day t'do it," he offered, stepping into the room and looking around curiously. His eyes caught on the minipet and he grinned. "Hey--that's one of those sex ed pets, right? You actually did it right? Mine came out all ugly looking."

He grinned, simple minded enough to forget his problem with that easy acceptance. "Yeah? I got a couplea pets," he said, moving to the door and stepping out, expecting her to follow. "I usually name them music terms--well, most of them. I got a new one recently! He's named Beat," he said, offering his hand without thinking. "He's a cute little jacker--I'll have t'show him t'you sometime!"

He gave her time in case she wanted to lock the door or anything, then headed for the dorm exit. "In fact, I got a pet or two I could give you if y'wanted," he offered. "Since it looked like y'only had the one?"

"I got... mmm... four that hang out on my bed, a tank full of fish types, a herd of England's Bulls, a pile of rocks an' one rawker," he listed, wondering how he had gotten to have so many pets over the years. "But the bulls an' the rawkers, I got the stockpile... like, for the bulls I got a case of guitar picks that never run out an' turn into the bulls, an' for the rawkers I got a pile of rocks like that--"

He dug through his pocket, pulling out a purple guitar pick. "This'd turn into a dog," he explained. Then he dug again, pulling out a rock, "an' this would turn into a rawker. Want one?"

"Y'got time t'decide," he said, putting the things away. The change of subject had him frowning slightly as he remembered prom. "Eh, it was alright," he said finally. "I really liked bein' on stage. Other than the song requests, that is. The song requests sucked a**," he said bluntly. "An' how can y'expect a BAND t'know songs that they've never heard of--much less learned the music to? But... eh, we survived."

He headed out of the dorm and started off campus, holding her hand without a thought. "Did y'hear us play?" he asked. "How'd we sound?"

"Yeah, y'can't play a song when y'don't know the music or the words," Roch said, shrugging. "An' as for music..." He thought for a moment before speaking. It was a bit of a walk, and it was too nice of a night to take the bike. "When I was six--well, I stepped outta the house," he said, not finding a better way to put it. "I walked down the street--it wasn't a reaper town, in fact me, my pa, an' a metal worker--pretty sure Steel's a reaper, well we were the only reapers there. So I'm walkin' down this street, surrounded by monsters--an I hear this sound."

He grinned slightly, remembering the past. "There was an old skeleton man on the corner--he smelled terrible, like a million years of alcohol, but he had a guitar that he was playin'. It was the most beautiful thing I ever heard," he said. "Y'hear about siren songs--hell, I dated a mermaid, but that guitar--that music was literally reachin' out an' grabbin' my heart."

He held out a hand, mimicking the grab. "An' it pulled me in. I begged Bones t'teach me--an' I tried an' tried, workin' till my fingers bled--and I learned how t'play."

He went still, looking away from her as she asked to learn to play. He'd been teaching Amphi--

But it wouldn't go like that, he swore to himself. "Ah... actually, I'm just waitin' for the final exam," he admitted. "Soon as that's over I figured I'd head out, do some travelin', see the world. Then I need t'get t'work as a trick or treater, I guess," he said. "But... I dunno, sometime?" he offered. "I don't know when I'll be comin' back t'this school, but I figure I'll be in town often enough! Y'could come when I'm there?"
