The two had not stayed the previous night, having only just arrived at the hotel earlier to find someone, and knew the rules - they could only spend one night here before leaving again. Well, one night of not having to worry who or what might show up was better than nothing and Rayen was almost as grateful for that as she was that she had found someone to go with them. Eysteinn was waiting for them in the lobby as they went downstairs, the young woman thinking over Broddi's questions as she walked. Perhaps he thought she was angry or annoyed at him, with her silence instead of immediately answering him, but she wanted to give him a proper response and it seemed better to wait until they were comfortable to do so. That, and she wanted to think of how to put things for him, as he clearly had never heard of such things before - at least, not in the context of them actually existing.

The bungalow was rather nice and she let out a sigh of relief as Eysteinn opened the door and nudged her inside, following Broddi and locking the door behind them. Nice, and quiet. "Are you hungry, lady?" the golem asked her, as the nephilim flopped down into a chair with a heavy sigh that suggested she was exhausted. Rayen nodded and he copied her motion before going into the small kitchen area to poke around and see what there was to cook. He was quite capable for a golem, more advanced than normal spells. Meanwhile, Rayen gestured for Broddi to sit. It made her nervous when she was the only one sitting and waited for him to comply before sitting up a bit. "Perhaps you had best show him," Eysteinn suggested softly, knowing that sooner or later the werewolf was going to see the result of a shaman's curse. Her lips pressed into a thin, straight line, one of obvious displeasure, but it wasn't directed at her golem. She truly hated how she looked and what the mark had done to her face. Rayen had never been much vain before, but she had taken pride in her appearance. Now she felt as if she were unfit to be seen by anyone.

"I know, Eysteinn," she said softly, just a hint of sharpness in the words. He nodded his head and resumed his search, finding things to make sandwiches and settling on that. With a sigh, Rayen turned her attention back to Broddi and clasped her hands in her lap. "Kobolds are...much like the fantasy creatures you see in games. They have tightly-knit clans that war with one another for territory, and are vicious creatures with no compunction about killing anyone who has something they want." Her tone was bitter and she looked down at her lap. "They wanted my family's estate and my parents refused to acquiesce. We fought with them and one night they ambushed our home, slaughtering my mother. My father fled and Eysteinn rescued me before further damage could be done. But...they have shamans. Ones that practice black magic - just as there are humans and other creatures who are all capable of magic of some sort, so are kobolds. The shaman...did something to me." Her hands twitched in her lap before the young woman reluctantly brought one up to her face. Lifting up her hair, she pulled it back to show him the dark mark that covered her left eye and part of her face, spreading over the bridge of her nose, threatening to swallow the other eye as well. It was a nasty sight and she quickly let her hair fall back once it was obvious the werewolf had seen it. "That is a kobold curse, though I don't know what it does or will do," Rayen said quietly. "My eye could still be there, or it could be gone. I don't know, I can't feel it at all."

Setting a plate of sandwiches on the table for the both of them, the golem sat down on the couch and crossed his long legs. "My mistress and I move quite often. There are creatures in power that could help her get her estate back, but getting the support to do so is quite hard. It's all politics," he explained. "The kobolds are determined to finish off her family, or at least the nephilim bloodline. Where her father is, we don't know." And his tone implied that he, at least, didn't care where a man who abandoned his daughter had gone to. "However, there have been...creatures that have attacked us. Summoned things, dark things, and we have had a few close calls. You will be keeping the lady safe, and escaping with her if necessary."

Rayen took one of the sandwiches, hungry but lacking much of a will to eat now. The golem looked over at her and his face fell, knowing she didn't like anyone to see the mark, or talk about what had happened that night. He hoped the werewolf wasn't going to mind hearing screams at night from her nightmares.

INDENT The bungalow was a disappointment. If one had cared to look, they probably would have been able to see the slight downturn at the corners of his mouth intensify as he investigated more of the room. Well! For a hotel, they sure put all their niceties into the merchandise rather than the customers! The ornate furniture and elegant scrollwork seemed to be something the hotel reserved for slaves only since all the furniture of the bungalow was smooth with modern, round shapes. The disappointment did not stop there. When Malkuth discovered that there was only one bed he was further troubled but by that point he had smoothed his features into placidity once more. He did not like people sharing a bed with him. He didn't even like people in the same room as him, when sleeping. It seemed, upon further inspection of the room, that there was little other choice. The first night with his new, personal slave and she may get to see him at his worst: sleeping and waking up.

INDENT Now, Malkuth wasn't sure he was an ungraceful sleeper. He wouldn't know if he tossed around much or snored or spoke or ran marathons during slumber because, obviously, he was sleeping. As a precaution against being seen in such a state he always locked his bedroom door. There was no bedroom to lock in the bungalow. A little knot of dread formed in his stomach. Perhaps Rowena was worse? Perhaps Rowena would pass out like a log and wake up after him, ensuring that his own rest was completely unwitnessed? He could only hope. The mutual silence - broken only by an occasional what is this or watch out for xxx - left him to brine in his own worries. The hotel had done well in getting their things to the room and leaving it all in a pile; he found his own small bag among the things. Though he had left his cane on the bed - as if claiming it without the use of words in fear of sounding territorial - he kept the doll on his lap as he unzipped his bag and felt the contents - as if he didn't remember what he had packed!

INDENT Malkuth felt like a teen again: embarrassed. Silk sleepwear was nothing to be ashamed of, but he still worried about how it would seem in another person's eyes. The last thing he wanted was to seem like another Hugh Hefner. Planning very carefully, he moved into the bathroom to wash his face (and replace his blindfold afterwards, of course). He then returned to the main chamber of the bungalow and suggested, "Why don't you take a shower before bed?"

INDENT Whether she wanted to or not, his suggestions were more like orders; he fully expected her to comply. When she had hiddn herself away in the bathroom he finally set his doll down next to the bed, facing towards the couch where Rowena would be sleeping. He then stripped like his clothes were on fire and changed into the navy silk. His old clothes were folded and hung up, when appropriate. He hit almost all the light switches he could find to (with any luck) darken the room, then slipped under the blankets of the bed. Though his opinion of the room was unimpressive, the bed had all the comfort of a luxury mattress! He rolled from side to side for a few moments, trying to decide what position would be the least degrading, and decided to lay on his side with his back to Rowena. Content with his chosen position he finally removed his blindfold and, just as the water in the bathroom was shut off, he pretended to be asleep. Hopefully she would buy it and not try to investigate her new master, believing him to be unconscious. He kept an attentive ear alert to track her movements and actions, ready to press his head deeper into the pillow if need be.

And if you ever find the time...

...You know I'm not far behind.

And if you ever need someone...
.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••

Although still technically on the property of the Hotel, it was nice for Broddi to actually see anything beyond his once former room. In fact, he was not realizing Rayen was being quiet. He honestly did not mind it since silence was common for him to be around. He preferred the silence when it came--well, his time of the month. Luckily, that was a few days prior to Rayen coming around; so she's golden for a few weeks or so.

Following Rayen and Eysteinn in, Broddi quietly observed the front area of the place before looked over to the golem and gave a big-eye look and nodded.
"Oh. So famished. You will become a saint in my books whenever the food will come down from the Heavens of Big Man." Finding out Eysteinn left half-way through the words of praise, Broddi furrowed his eyebrows a bit in confusion. "I'm this century's Rodney Dangerfield." Placing his arms downwards in a distraught, he mosied on over to where Rayen gestured to sit. It would be rude to decline the offer so quickly, so he plopped right down beside her and relaxed as if it was his own place.

When Eysteinn spoke of showing something, Broddi sat upright and peered over to Rayen; raising an eyebrow a bit.
"Show me what?" Glancing over to the golem briefly, who turned away to continue on his hunt. Looking back to the young woman, he leaned forward before resting his forearms on his thighs to listen in carefully about her story. One of the few things about Broddi that seemed a bit strange, but practical--story-time, to him, was always to learn about history. History of any sort. They were always the bedtime stories his uncle read when he was a kid; so there was some sort of comfort in hearing one talk about their own past or something else that had been. Of course, he was not ready to fall asleep--not even close--but it was unusual undivided attention the young man gave to Rayen that may have put her off...or made her feel uncomfortable...or whatever else he could not think of at the moment.

So many questions to ask, Broddi's mind was going a mile a second; but he held his tongue. It was not the moment for him to ask anything; especially if she was not even done. Sitting up straight, though, as she reluctantly pulled her hair back; the young man was taken aback at the sight. He was not freaked out or even remotely closed to grossed out. There was nothing there to do any of that as it was just all darkness. When the hair dropped back down, it kind of let him go of his daze as he paid attention to her once again. Looking over to the settled plates on the table, it was easy to tell he was famished. Nodding his thanks to Eysteinn, he reached over to grab a sandwich and ate it ravishingly. Sure, the Hotel fed them, but it was nice to have variety for once. This was a sure-fire way to keep his mouth shut from talking when folks are telling their stories.

Not knowing if he was so hungry, anything would be so delicious or if the sandwich, in fact, was quite tasty; Broddi nodded his thanks once again before glancing over to Rayen who had a grimaced look upon her. So many questions and yet none of them were about her face. He wanted to ask; but it was easy to tell she just wanted everything to be on the table now and simply not ask questions about it. Possibly for another time. For now, it seemed like it was his turn and he sighed a bit at that. Sure, he loved stories, but when it came to his own? It just seemed completely inane to what he just heard. Scratching the back of his head a little, his eyebrows furrowed a bit.
"I don't know how much was on whatever file you looked at about me; but I understand about the family and politics. It was actually more of family and legalities, but close enough. My cousin believed down to the last drop of his soul I was the bane of his existence--as I was intentionally born to mentally and emotionally destroy him. I had no intentions of that. Hells, I thought the Gods or whomever placed me here just to poke fun of me." Broddi shrugged a bit before stretching out and finally continuing.

"After my uncle passed away and the will and testament hearing claimed me as the sole beneficiary of his estate and inheritance, Wesley--my cousin, my uncle's true and only child--went on a rampage to do anything and everything he could to destroy the income I gained. Sued me for emotional damage and that didn't get accepted by any of the courts. Called the Income Tax to have me audited for potential fraud. They found nothing but everything done and by the books. He even tried to hire thugs to pose as trainers to be part of the professional and legal fight club I recently owned; that fell apart before they were officially hired as it is required for me to do background checks on potential trainers. The last resort he did was kidnap me and placed me one of those underground fight clubs with supernatural beings, though. Lo and behold, got into a fight with a werewolf. Turning about, Broddi held up his shirt; showing his back. The three claw scars nearly missed his spine, but it seemed to continue beyond what he was showing above the pulled shirt and and past the pant line as well. "The one on the far left continues down mid-thigh." Pulling down his shirt, he turned back around to peer back to them before giving a bit of a shrug. "For about six months, I hid myself away in the storage basement of the fight club and came out in the daytime only--to make sure everything was still running smoothly above. When it came time for it, though, I ran for the coastline. I didn't know where else to go without harming anyone." Another shrug as it was his turn to have a sullen face before looking back to the two. "Eventually poachers found me and turned me in to the Hotels here for far better profit than the underground fight club I would have been in."

.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••
...I'll still be waiting.

In all honesty, Rowena thought the bungalow was very nice. Then again, she obviously hadn't been exposed to the sort of luxury and lifestyle her master had and knew her opinion counted for less than nothing when it came to such things. Quietly making sure he knew where things were and wasn't going to fall over and hurt himself, the young woman noticed that there was only one bed and knew that she would sleep on the couch. It made sense to her and there was no reason for her to question it, at least in her mind. He was the master, so he got the bed. That was how it was supposed to go, wasn't it?

The young woman had no idea about his insecurities and would have thought them silly if she had. Instead, she helped him over to the bed and then moved away, placing her bags on the floor by the door and pulling out fresh underwear and a pair of pajamas she'd bought. It was partly to avoid simply standing there like an idiot and waiting for him to tell her what to do - that didn't seem to be the right thing for her to do, at least she thought. Wouldn't he want a slave that could take the initiative and act on their own, rather than a dumb puppet? Pleased at her conclusion, Rowena looked up when he suggested she take a shower, exiting the bathroom himself. It was very obvious it was an order, but she had planned on it anyway and nodded obediently, though the gesture was lost on the blind man.

"Of course," the young woman said agreeably, gathering up her things and heading into the bathroom. It was luxurious to her and she wondered if she should take her time or hurry. Given that her master probably wanted privacy to settle himself, she decided to take her time and enjoy the nice bathroom she found herself in. So Rowena got the water in the tub the temperature she wanted, turned on the spray and stepped into the shower. After years of living a lower-middle class life, she wasn't sure she would ever get used to such nice things that these people seemed to take for granted, she thought, washing her hair thoroughly and enjoying being able to relax. Of course she had showered in the hotel, but...well, being worried someone might walk in at any minute - with her luck it would be when she was in the shower - she had rushed and had never been able to relax. Here she could, at least.

The bungalow, and the bathroom, weren't as fancy as the room in the hotel, but she liked them infinitely better. It was for the simple fact that at least she had an idiom of freedom here, more than being locked up in a room for people to come look at like she was in a zoo. Once she'd finished her shower, Rowena toweled off and combed her hair out, putting it in a french braid for the night and pulling on her pajamas. Carefully opening the door, her dirty clothes in a bundle to go into an empty bag, Rowena looked out and saw most of the lights were off and her master was already in bed. Blinking, a bit surprise, she quietly crept across the room, doing her best not to make much noise as she put her dirty clothing into a bag and then went over to the couch. There wasn't a spare blanket, but at least there were pillows on it.

Deciding to remain quiet, assuming he was either asleep or trying to go to sleep and didn't want to be disturbed, her usual 'goodnight' was abandoned and she simply settled down onto the couch, glad it was more comfortable than some of the ones she had had to sleep on in her life. Despite being in such a strange place, Rowena was able to fall asleep fairly easily, tired from such a strange and long day.

INDENT Malkuth heard Rowena emerge from the bathroom and he heard her soft steps upon the floor. He tracked her movements around the room relative to his own position and was relieved when she seemed to settle own on the couch behind him. Eventually he succumbed to sleep and could only hope that he was the first to rise.

    --------------

INDENT Whether it was his anxiety that woke him early or Rowena was more tired than he thought, Malkuth was the first to rise. At least, he assumed so - he could hear her slow breathing from behind him. As quietly as a blind man could, he slipped out of bed and began to wander. His jacket was hanging in the closet, he knew, but what of the clean pants still packed away in his bag? Would they need ironing? If they did, then how would he accomplish that? He would need Rowena to do it. Then... what did that mean for him? He would be stuck in his sleepwear until then? Oh, agony!

INDENT Malkuth decided to act now and address any possible issues later. He seized his bag and stowed away in the bathroom, shutting and locking the door. A good morning shower was in order. He found a clean shirt and pants in his bag and hung them behind the door. Given that they were hung properly, the steam from a hot shower would probably get out some creases, if any. His sleepwear was stashed and he began the adventure of an unfamiliar bathroom. A toilet was relatively universal (once he had found it) and he was relieved to discover that the shower temperature control seemed easy enough. It was a single lever with a pin to switch between the spout and the shower head. A fresh facecloth and soap were easy to identify but two little matching bottles of viscous liquid briefly stumped him. He squirted a little of each onto the back of his hand and judged by the feel and smell that one of them was probably lotion while the other was shampoo. Having identified all resources needed, Malkuth enjoyed a Hotel Esclaves shower as best as he could.

INDENT By the time he was finished, master was sure that slave was awake - or at least would soon be. Though he had covered his bases for the actual shower, he forgot to secure a towel beforehand. Wet and dripping, Malkuth had to feel his way around the bathroom several times before he finally found a shelf with clean, folded towels impractically high. After having patted his way around the bathroom's perimeter a few times, there was no way a delicate little girl like Rowena could still be sleeping, right? Malkuth dried off as thoroughly as possible then slowly began to dress himself. Underwear, undershirt, socks, pants, shirt, and lastly his belt were all donned to the best of his ability. Towelling his hair to get that last bit of moisture out, he exited the bathroom confident that he wouldn't be a total mess. He felt around for his blindfold and slipped it on, pinning silver-gray hair down in place. If he could help it, he would rather not unnerve anyone with unintentional creepy spacey eye-staring. All he needed was to put on a tie and his jacket, but that could wait if only for a moment. First he wanted to see what Rowena was up to - if anything.

Once she was asleep, the young woman remained so, despite being on the couch. It was surprisingly comfortable, at least, and she remained on her side facing the cushions on the back throughout the night. She was typically a sound sleeper and little disturbed her, save for loud noises or someone shaking her quite a lot. That said, she did stir a bit as Malkuth woke and began to move about the room, but she remained half-asleep and kept her eyes closed. Rowena doubted he would appreciate her surprising him by suddenly moving and she didn't want to patronize him by helping him around. She would ask later if he'd prefer she wake up first and help him or remain asleep, but for now it seemed best to just be still unless she heard him fumbling and needing something. Listening to the sounds in the bathroom, she didn't hear any banging or falling.

Rowena only got up when she heard the shower go off. Going to her bags, she quickly changed from her pajamas into clean underwear and clothing, a new pair of jeans and a long-sleeved T-shirt with sneakers, comfortable and yet stylish. She had a feeling her master wouldn't want her to go walking around looking like a bum, but she wasn't very fashion-forward either, so had tried to compromise. Getting her toothbrush and toothpaste, she brushed her teeth in the kitchen sink, rinsing it out before putting them away in the plastic case she'd gotten for things like that. Unbraiding her hair, she combed it, finding it still damp and curling, tucking some behind her ears. Once everything was neatly put away, the young woman went out onto the deck and took a deep breath as the sun rose. She didn't want to sit and watch the man move about, so waited until she heard the bathroom door open. Turning around, she saw he was partially dressed and had to admit that he was very handsome. Maybe it was the fact he mourned his wife still that kept other women from approaching him, she wondered.

"Good morning, Malkuth," she greeted him cheerfully. Stepping from the deck, she went over and straightened his shirt out for him. He'd been correct, the steam had smoothed out any wrinkles, but she fixed where it had bunched up around his shoulders. "I didn't know if you'd prefer me to get up before you or after you," Rowena told him apologetically, stepping back and going over to get his jacket and tie for him. She set them near him on the back of a chair and clasped her hands in front of her. "Oh, um, I meant to tell you yesterday. You don't really need to call me Miss Rowena - I'm fine with just Rowena. Or Roo, it's a nickname I've had for a while," she added with a faint smile. It would certainly make her a bit more at ease, every time he said 'Miss Rowena' she felt like he was going to scold her for something. It was like having a professor talking to her and made her jump every time he said it, no matter how gentle his tone was. Pushing some hair from her eyes, she let out a breath. "Do you want me to get you anything for breakfast? I can cook a little bit, but nothing fancy, so I don't want you to think I can really do that and be annoyed," she added sheepishly.

Rayen actually hadn't been going to press him for his story, as she already had the gist of it by reading his file. But she appreciated his willingness to tell her himself and listened quietly, her hands occupied with the sandwich. She only took a few bites of it in the time that it took him to tell his story, despite stern looks from the golem in an effort to make her eat. Eysteinn rather hoped that the werewolf would be more than a bodyguard, though he wasn't holding his breath. It was a faint hope at best and merely something to keep an eye on as they traveled, he reasoned. And not traveling nearly as often would allow his mistress to catch her breath. The werewolf's story was intriguing to him, though he frowned a bit as he listened to the end of it. "If your cousin becomes a problem, you will have our help in that matter," he informed him solemnly. The golem liked to anticipate everything that could go wrong and then assumed it would, to avoid being caught unprepared. It had worked best for him so far and he saw no reason to stop.

At the declaration, the young woman nodded, though she knew she would be of little use in any physical altercation. She had been more worried about Broddi saying anything about her mark, or asking questions, and his unblinking stare when she'd shown him had unnerved her further. But he hadn't said a word and she couldn't tell if he didn't care or just wasn't going to ask her about it. Either way, it calmed her down just a touch and she finished her sandwich slowly, not having much to say at the moment. At least here she felt safe, completely safe. With Eysteinn she never was worried about being hurt, but she didn't want him to be hurt because he was trying to keep her safe. It was what scared her, being completely alone and on her own. Partially because she would have no one to hide behind, she knew. But mostly because she couldn't stand the thought of being by herself at all, it hurt her on a level she couldn't understand and didn't care to dwell on.

"Thank you for being so honest, Broddi," Rayen told him softly, looking from her now-empty hands back over to him. Realizing she hadn't taken the collar off, she frowned and leaned over, her arms going around his neck as she fiddled with the magic clasp. Of course he couldn't take it off himself, it would defeat the purpose of it. It was the closest she had been to someone other than Eysteinn and in a few moments she had sat back with a small smile, the collar dangling limply from her hand, now completely impotent. "There. I don't think any of us would like to see this nasty thing," she remarked, tossing it with surprising accuracy into a wastebasket near the kitchen area. Eysteinn smiled a bit in approval and his eyes followed her as she got up and picked up a bag on the floor. "I"m going to shower and change," Rayen told them, bringing the small overnight bag she'd packed with her into the bathroom.

Looking over at the werewolf once the female was safely ensconced in the bathroom, door shut and locked, Eysteinn returned his gaze to the other male in the room. "I do not need to sleep, so you don't have to remain on guard at night," he told him calmly. "It would be best for you to sleep and regain your energy and remain at my lady's side during the day awake and rested." The bed was large, but he wasn't sure if Rayen would want to share with the werewolf or not. She was too giving sometimes, despite her lack of trust, and the golem frowned at the problem. "You could sleep on the couch, or you can ask my lady if she wouldn't mind sharing the bed," Eysteinn finally said, deciding to leave it up to Broddi.

I couldn't remember if she'd taken the collar off or not, so if she did, I'll rewrite that bit. xP

...You know I'm not far behind.

And if you ever need someone...

It seemed like he would be the kind who did not have much care about his past--and he doesn't. How can he if it was all in the past? Broddi was never one to dwell on it, so he doesn't. Also part of the reason why he never pressed on about Rayen's eye. It happened--it was most unfortunate for such a lovely young woman like herself, but it did. Briefly looking up to Eysteinn, he gave a small shake of his head. "No need, really. From what I heard before being captured, my cousin was treated the same exact way as I was. He never took the lessons from Uncle so seriously as I did, so he may be inflicted as well. Thanks for the offer." It was a thoughtful gesture to have back-up; but unlike the young woman here, it was more of a family thing to deal with. If, by chance, he ever does come around; he would be able to take care of it on his own.

Just like Rayen, his own sandwich was finished--actually quite some time ago. He was more hungry than he thought he would be. There was a bit of jolt when she reached over to take the collar off; but not a jolt backwards or forwards--more of a surprise than anything else. Breathing her in silently but deeply, to get used to her smell, there was something different about her. Well, yes, obviously species-wise--but something he never smelled before on anyone that came so naturally. Moving his neck about a bit more freely, now with the collar gone; Broddi could not help but give a soft smile to her. Giving a silent shake of his head, he quickly watched the collar being tossed in the wastebasket with perfect aim. Eying back to her suspiciously, he quirked an eyebrow up.
"Basketball as a child or you have eyes on the back of your head?" It was unfortunate she did not give an answer before grabbing her bag on the floor and heading towards the bathroom area. He wanted to say something, but she was being too kind for any of his quips; so, instead, he gave another small smile and a nod.

Standing up and stretching, as if there was twenty pounds just recently lifted from him, Broddi looked over to Eysteinn and chuckled a bit.
"No worries, Big Man. Sleep and I are like this." He crossed his index and middle finger together--a common way of showing the metaphorical bond. "I will watch over her with care. Not like a hawk, though. Never liked hawks." Shrugging a little, he looked back up to the Golem and nodded. "Sleeping on the couch is fine. Intruding on the first night is not a good way to spend the rest of the time together."

In the meantime, while he waited patiently for the shower as well--in hopes to get the Hotel smell off of him forever. Heading over to the kitchen, he glanced over to the Golem briefly. "We are going shopping tomorrow, correct? I don't know about you, but I am done with these Hotel threads. Thank goodness these are a fresh set; but still. You and I both know that hanging out in the same clothes day in and day out would just get boring." He honestly wasn't asking for a whole new wardrobe collection--just enough to get by without wearing the same clothes four times a week in a row. In the meantime, though, he glanced around the kitchen and pondered briefly. "Who do I need to kill for some lemonade right now?" There was an instant look of regret when he spoke that. He was not too sure if death would be a touchy subject; he glanced back to Eysteinn. "Metaphorically."

INDENT Soon after he had emerged from the bathroom, Malkuth was greeted by Rowena. He had just slipped on his blindfold when he heard soft steps carrying the girl closer to him. He expected her to stop in front of him for an exchange of words and was caught slightly off-guard when, instead of mere conversation, he could feel her pulling on his shirt around his shoulders. She had not transgressed; there was nothing to scold her for. He would simply have to suppress the slight feeling of unease that stemmed from his inaccurate expectations. Fixing him up was perfectly acceptable and that was all she had done, he told himself. After she had fixed his shirt he heard her moving around the room to do something, then move around again. It was slightly disorienting, as he couldn't identify the noises of the unfamiliar territory.

INDENT "You can wake whenever you'd like, within reason," Malkuth commented as he attempted to track her movements around the room. Though he remained facing the same direction he had been since seeking his blindfold, when Rowena finally stopped moving he turned towards her approximate location. He was informed of her childish nickname and had to admit to himself, he didn't immediately like it. Calling his girls miss made him feel like he was respecting them - even if deep down he thought they were nothing but pawns and playthings. Miss Roo just didn't sound right at all but he wasn't quite there yet to call her dear Roo with any genuine affection. With the distance an unfamiliarity they shared, calling her dear would be too similar to how he passive-aggressively mocked others and there was no cause to hold contempt for Row-- Roo. He'd have to decide how to cross this street when he came to it, he decided, opting to avoid addressing her for now.

INDENT "No need to worry; we can pick up something later. Wash up and get dressed. As soon as you are ready we will be checking out and heading home." Having said his piece, Malkuth fetched his doll and cane and set them near each other. He then headed to the closet to fetch his jacket, unaware of the fact that she had moved it. His hand waved around in the void for a moment before concluding that it was no longer there. Sliding the door closed, he identified the sound as the one Rowena had made just moments earlier. Had she moved his things? He was hesitant to ask; what if she hadn't? That would mean he misplaced something, wouldn't it? The last thing he would want to admit would be to have forgotten something. That was a terrible sin not only for a visually impaired person but also for someone who fought so desperately to control everything around him.

I decided to wait until the next post or so to move them out of the hotel.

His bright eyes watched the werewolf as he moved about, not suspiciously, but out of habit. Eysteinn was a golem, made to guard Rayen, and it was an automatic thing to keep his eyes on anything that moved in her vicinity - and sometimes what didn't move as well. He found the man curious and was unsure if that was a good or bad thing. In any case, he was certain Rayen would enjoy his company and that he would protect her, and that was all the golem was concerned with. At least for the moment. Eysteinn was pleased that the man was willing to take the couch, rather than take advantage of his lady's easy nature and share the bed with her. At the question, the golem nodded patiently, arms folded over his chest. "Yes, there are shops in the city that we can go to and get you whatever you require," Eysteinn confirmed. While he couldn't understand what Broddi said about wearing the same thing day after day - he was a golem and actually never changed his clothing, as it was a part of him - he knew from Rayen that humans and the like did not enjoy wearing the same thing all the time, so he simply nodded in quiet agreement. "Look through the cupboards, there may be some. If not, we can get some tomorrow," the golem said with a faint shrug. He was pleased by the regretful expression that came across the werewolf's face - it meant he realized he shouldn't speak of death, even jokingly, around his lady. He was vaguely amused by the phrase, however, especially in such a careless manner.

As the werewolf took his advice, Eysteinn was left to his own thoughts for a moment. He was a sentient creature, though born from rock and stone, and was able to have his own feelings. His ultimate goal, however, was to keep his charge safe, at all costs. He was pleased to have found this male who would do his best as well, since the golem believed him. There was no reason to disbelieve him, at least not right now, and while the golem normally didn't trust people first, Rayen seemed all right with him and that was good enough for him.

More than relieved to have some time to herself, Rayen retreated into the hot shower with a sigh. It was odd to have someone around other than Eysteinn, it had just been the two of them for so long. Not that she regretted getting Broddi - buying him, her traitorous brain reminded her - but she just had to adjust to having someone else around to talk to and listen to. He was a bit overwhelming, at least for someone like her, and the young woman wasn't sure how to take him. Was he serious mostly, or usually joking? He had done both since they had met and she wasn't sure if he was always so sporadic. It would certainly keep her guessing, she reasoned, as she worked shampoo into her hair. And she was glad that they wouldn't have to move around so much, sometimes it made her head spin, and she hated living out of a suitcase all the time. She at least wanted some time to unpack and catch her breath before another meeting, another call, another move.

She lingered in the shower for a while before making herself get out when the water started to get cool. Drying off, she pulled on her pajamas, just simple fleece bottoms and a camisole top under a T-shirt, and braided her hair down her back. There was little point in keeping her bangs over her eye, but she did out of habit before going back into the main room, her clothes folded neatly before they went back in her overnight bag. "Is there anything to drink?" she asked, going over to the kitchen area. She wanted something other than water, but she wasn't sure how well it was stocked here and didn't feel like going out to get something, either.

.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••.´¯`.••

Moving over to Eysteinn briefly, this would have been the perfect time to pat someone on top of their shoulder or right on the back at the shoulder blade. Even with Broddi's height, there was no way to do so with the golem. Instead, he gave a rather light tap on his arm after forming his hand into a fist. "Thanks, Big Man. Ya know, there was a brief moment when we first met I was intimidated by you. Very brief. Seems to me you are a tootsie pop. Hard shell and slightly less hard gooey center." Giving him a simple nod, he left the golem be as he headed into the kitchen.

Now. With the time alone, any paranoid new owner may be freaking out since their newly purchased person is not in sight. Strangely, it did not seem to be that way with Rayen. Might be also because they were technically still on the Hotel's property, just different building--but that's beside the point. The point of it all, Broddi had time to stretch his Humanoid legs beyond his old room and he appreciated it. Even better, though, all the food in-take he desired. Of course, he would not gorge himself on the first night...or any night for that matter...but he would have more variety and that sent him into a silent wiggle of glee.

For now, though, it was lemonade he had on his mind. Looking about the cabinets, he was able to find one of those Country Time powder jars that was still within it's expiration date. It took him a bit to get the amount of the powder and water--but never wasted either--to the point where the lemonade was not too tarty. He nodded in satisfaction, which oddly enough, could have been taken as a nod for Rayen's question when she came into the kitchen. Looking up to her, he chuckled a bit; only to wonder if they were on the same food wave-length. Instead of kindred spirits, they could be long-lost foodie-buddies.
"Better than nothing." He gestured to his own glass briefly before he grabbed another glass from the cabinet and placed in the same amount as his. Luckily for her, he knew the precise amount of the water and spoonful ratio to make it hopefully right to her liking; so it took an incredibly less amount of time to make it. Stirring it to make sure the vast majority of the powder was dissolved, he finally handed the new glass over to her.

"Took me forever to figure out how much to put in there." Well, of course Broddi had to be over-exaggerating. How else would he get the sympathy? Even if it's just for play, he had an unusual need to make the two brooding friends slightly more alive. Sure, he was BFFs with the darkness as well--well, mostly--but he was one to kid around from time to time; just to make sure no one goes all Bruce Wayne on him. In the meantime, he rose his glass a little in a silent salute to the young woman before taking a couple of sips from his own lemonade. Smacking his lips a little, he nodded once again in satisfaction. "So. Might I ask what the agenda will be? Short-term? Long-term? Over-Easy?"

The kind of dark that haunts a hundred year old house,
I wrestle with my thoughts I shook the hand of doubt,
Running from my past I'm praying feet don't fail me now! ஆ

Kyoya smirked as they were led to the bungalows of the hotel. He had put his arm around Delmar, clearly showing that she was his now to anyone who dared to look at her.
"Since it's already so late, we'll be staying overnight in the bungalows until our plane ride tomorrow. Your room will be done by the time we get home so you don't need to worry about anything. As for your collar, you are required to wear it while you are on the hotel's property. Once we are travelling, I will remove it."
Kyo followed the guard to the room and then locked the door behind him. He was tired since it was nearly midnight and he had travelled a long way. He had finished an assignment before he had arrived at the hotel so he was exhausted at this point. Yawning, Kyo stretched his lean muscles showing once again. He looked around the room he had been led to and smirked. It was a very nice room and he was glad that he had decided to stay here for the night. Usually, he slept under the stars but he figured that a mermaid would not like that kind of thing. Thinking about it, Delmar seemed like the type of girl that wanted to be pampered so he knew he would have to work hard to make sure she was happy while she lived with him. Kyo turned to Delmar and finally noticed her dress. It was form fitting like her robe had been and it was low cut. Smirking, Kyo knew he had down a good job at her wardrobe for back home. He had bought her a few casual outfits like jeans and nice sweaters as well as getting her plenty of fancy clothes. Low cutting shirts, nice dresses, and skirts. Of course he had bought a few shoes as well and other things like undergarments that were to his liking.
"I'm going to take a shower and then I'll be going to bed. You are welcome to join me or just hang around the room."

Kyo turned and walked into the bathroom, leaving the door open. He started the shower, turning it to hot water just liked he enjoyed. Stripping down, Kyo tossed his clothes in a corner of the bathroom before he transformed into his human form. He showered, working out his muscles to make sure that they didn't cramp from the hard work he had to perform earlier that day. He washed the dirt from his skin and the sweat, relaxing under the spray of the water. After he was done getting clean, he shut off the water and towel dried his hair before running a brush through it. He didn't mind leaving his skin slightly damp and he pulled on his tight boxer briefs before he walked out into the other room, finding Delmar looking out the window. He watched her for a moment before he went over and turned off the lights to the room. Walking back to where Delmar was, Kyo picked her up and walked her over to the bed. Gently, he laid her down before he crawled into bed next to her and pulled up the sheet around them. He pulled her into him and began to run his hand over her head and hair.
"I may not be what you are expecting of a master, but I promise to protect you and I'll do my best to make you happy."
Kyo continued to run his hand through her hair and he closed his eyes. Within a few minutes, he was sleeping soundly.

It was not what the mermaid wanted to hear, that she was stuck with this stupid collar another night. Making a face up at him, she didn't object to his arm around her. If anything, she rather liked it and kept herself tucked up against his side as they followed the guard from the hotel to the bungalows. It gave her time to look around the place she'd been living at the last six months, as she hadn't seen much outside her room, and had to admit that it was impressive to her. At least she'd been held in a nice place, instead of a cage in a back room or something, she thought to herself, and made a face at that thought. It was awful to think about and she was glad she'd escaped a fate like that. The bungalow room was nice as well and she looked around once they were inside. Smaller than she had expected, but then again, it was only for an overnight stay. She supposed the people at the hotel didn't want them to get too comfortable and want to stay longer, the mermaid reasoned to herself.

At his words, Delmar glanced over her shoulder at him and raised an eyebrow. Did he honestly expect her to get in the shower with him, or was he simply teasing? Whatever the case may be, she snorted a bit and kept an eye on the bathroom as she moved around the room to look at it. She could see him stripping down and had to admit that he was handsome. Once he was in the shower the mermaid went over to the small bag she had and changed into a silk slip to sleep in, figuring they were going to share a bed. She hung her dress up to wear the next morning and went over to the window, looking out at the stars. She remembered laying on beaches, or on a rock in inlets, looking up at them from the ocean. They were so much brighter there. Or maybe that was her mind playing tricks on her, making her hurt more than she should for her lost home.

She was lost in thought and started a bit when he suddenly picked her up without a word. Delmar looked up at him in confusion, wondering what he was planning. They weren't allowed to do anything in the bungalows - was he going to try to break the rules? But no, he just settled down in the bed and then cuddled her up to him, much to her surprise. She listened to his words as she curled up against him, thinking that over. Hm. She hadn't had someone tell her they'd do that - protect her and keep her happy - for a long time, if ever. It was sort of nice to hear and she closed her eyes, the touch of his fingers in her hair soothing to the mermaid. "Good night, Kyo," Delmar whispered back, settling against him. She was asleep rather quickly as well, tired and lulled to sleep by his body heat alongside of her.
