Expectations Contrary to popular belief, rules and expectations are two different things. They are both, however, important to follow.
RespectHey, guess what? The world does not revolve around you. There are, in fact other people in this guild, and people have feelings, and feelings can get hurt if you aren't careful. So, even if someone is being a complete idiot and/or jerk, please treat them with respect. We will not tolerate ridicule or insults, and especially not talking about others behind their backs. We do acknowledge that there is a fine line between pointing out a fault and being rude. Don't cross the line, and we won't have to deal out any consequences. Activity"B-but, I can't post! I gotta go to school and do my homework and my chores and go here and do this!" Okay, cool. So does everybody else. We totally understand that you have a life outside of the Internet and we don't expect you to drop it for us. If you can't post at least once every two weeks, then please post in the Absences thread. Occasionally, we will do Roll Calls. These are to make sure that you are indeed still around. When this happens, please post in the thread stating your username and all of the characters that you have. Failure to do so by the end of Roll Call will result in not only the deletion of your characters, but also in the deletion of yourself. You will also be removed if you have not posted for three months without reason. If you come back and want another chance, get in contact with a Crew Member and explain what happened. Abide by the RulesThere are two sets of rules you really need to be concerned about here. There's our guild rules, and then there's Gaia's ToS. It's important that you follow both. Breaking of the guild rules, will result in a warning, whereas breaking of Gaia ToS will result in banning. LiteracyNo, you don't have to write a novel. What you do have to be able to do is follow the basic rules of grammar. Things like knowing the difference between "to" and "too". We know that you don't know how to spell every word ever created, but we do know for a fact that you are on the Internet. If you use a browser that doesn't have Spell-Check built in, you can always check out Dictionary.Com. Also, one line posts will not be tolerated in roleplaying subforums. We want some substance. We would like to see at least two meaty paragraphs. What do I mean by a meaty paragraph? I mean a paragraph with at least five sentences. Occasionally, you can get away with less if you're stuck, but being constantly stuck isn't cool and you shouldn't do it, cause you're probably lying. Nobody is stuck all the time. As far as perspective goes, first person is not cool, and you will make yourself look like the biggest fool ever if you use it. So personal pronouns (I, me, you) should not be used outside of dialogue. And I really don't think you'll enjoy writing in second person, so you're going to want to use third person. That means "he, she, they," outside of dialogue. You should also write in the past tense. Here are some examples of what we mean: Lean Post Dakote was tired. It had been days since he got any sleep. Certainly nobody would mind if he fell asleep right now. Meaty Post Truth be told, Dakote was exhausted. He had no idea how many nights had passed since he last spent time dreaming of a simpler time. A time where the Games didn't exist. Now that they had kept him up, constantly worrying that someone was coming to kill him, the young man wished even more so that the world he imagined actually existed. Leaning against a tree, he felt his eyes slowly starting to close. Certainly he could rest for a moment. Boom! went the cannon, jolting Dakote back awake. Did they have any idea how difficult it was to sleep with the cannons announcing death? There were twenty-four of them, and only one could live. That meant twenty-three blasts, twenty-three inconveniences. Oh, how he was regretting not forming an alliance. At least then, he could sleep without worrying about the cannon being an attack. He was certain that he wasn't going to make it much longer. Soon enough, his body would start to fail. He would be incapable of living, let alone running. Yes, Dakote was certain that he would never see his District alive again. Bad Example1 I stayed silent as the man spoke to me. Bad Example2 Runyon runs to the Cornucopia and grabs a sword.

Rules Remember how I said we had rules too? Well, here they are! You should read them too! Gaia is the Boss Gaia is nice enough to let us roleplay on their site. Their site, not mine, not yours. They have rules, and we need to follow them, otherwise, some pretty serious things could happen, and we don't want that. Go against Gaia, and you will be banned from the guild, no questions asked.
Respect "Haven't I seen this section before?"
Yes, observant one! Thanks for taking notice! You see, respect is so important here in the guild it's both an expectation and a rule. If you do anything to make yourself out to be a complete a**, you will face consequences.
Drama Awesome for in character, llamas, and in-character llamas, but totally lame for out of character relations with your fellow roleplayers. Take your childish, immature crap elsewhere. I don't want to see it.
Swears Please note that if swearing makes you uncomfortable, Gaia does have a filter you can turn on. Otherwise, please suck it up. It's not like you've never heard and/or used some of these words before. So, yes, it's okay to swear in guild. Just, don't swear every other word. That's annoying and makes you look unintelligent, and I like to think that if you're here, typing up a huge post that you are intelligent.
Roleplay Ettiquite (AKA: Don't be an a**) You're here to roleplay, which means you need to follow the basic rules of roleplay. These are all non-negotiable.
+ No auto-hitting + No God-modding + Killing other characters not belonging to you requires the permission of that roleplayer. + No Mary Sues. EVER. Mary Sues will be destroyed. + Posts will be in Third-Person, Past Tense + No bright texts. Also, no ridiculously small texts. We want to be able to read your posts. + No stretching the page
Approval In order to post in the guild, you must be a member. This is because we have had issues in the past of non-members posting in our guild causing issues.
Trolls Eat Spam Want to Spam? Cool. Leave it in a Can, or put it in our OOC forum. Want to Troll? Not so cool. Don't do that in the guild. Ever. You can go to Chatterbox in the main Gaia forums if you want to do that.
Reality Fiction does not always mean fantasy. The Hunger Games is set in a science fiction world of Suzanne Collins' creation. That being said, please try to keep things as close to canon as possible. You do not shoot fire out of your hands. You are a normal human.
In doubt? Google, Yahoo, Bing, Blackle, or use any other search engine to look it up.

Consequences Mess up, do something stupid, and there will be a consequence for that. We hate to have to do this, but there are some people who just want to see the world burn. Warning This means that you've broken something minor and we're willing to give you another chance. However, if you do the thing we told you not to do again, you will face a different, more severe punishment.
Probation A member will be placed on probation if they break a minor guild rule. A PM will be sent stating the reasons for probation and the duration of probation. During this time, the member will not be removed from the guild, but they may not post anywhere in the guild. If they are caught doing so, they will face more consequences.
Suspension A member who breaks a major rule or breaks probation, and is a first time offender on either will be suspended from the guild. In suspension, you will be removed from the guild. A suspended member must wait a certain amount of time before submitting a request to re-join.
Banishment If you have broken major rules more than once, or have done something extraordinarily appalling, you will be banished from the guild. You may not re-join the guild and your characters will be removed.

Let's Get Started So you have no idea what to do. Well, here we have a step-by-step list of what to do.
Step One: Read the Entire Guide. Entirely.No. There won't be a quiz, but you'll look really stupid if you mess up cause you didn't read it. So seriously, read the whole guide. It took a long time to make, so you can spend some time reading it. By the way, the secret phrase, it's Prim's Goat. Step Two: Read the Other GuidesWhile I wanted this to be complete, I didn't want this to be the fourth book in the series. So, there are other guides available here to make your life easier. Step Three: Read On!More reading? Yes. Now shut up. This thread has important information on creating your own character. Step Four: Create a CharacterYou can't roleplay without a character, and character's can't exist without a profile. Once you post it, a crew member will come around and accept you, or give you tips on how to improve your profile. If you've been accepted, you can start roleplaying.

Roleplay It's the reason you're here, isn't it? Well, you should probably know how to roleplay within the guild then! Freeform Roleplaying This sort of roleplaying involves multiple threads in the same storyline. The threads are all an individual area. A lot can go on at the same time. People could be fishing while others are swimming, and while someone else is trying to get a girlfriend.
To prevent confusion with all of the people posting in the threads, it is highly suggested that you quote the people that you are roleplaying with. There is a lovely spoiler feature that can hide your quotes. We ask that you use it.
The Games This is one of the huge things that is majorly important, since the guild really revolves around them. So, there's a few things you should keep in mind.
1. If you volunteer, you better be active. Seriously. There is nothing worse than having someone want to be picked and then just drop out cause they don't feel like posting.
2. Drop out before the Games start, and your character will be dragged along until the Bloodbath, where they will be killed.
3. If the Games die, the crew reserves the right to bring them back to life in any way they see fit.
4. If you do not post at least once every two weeks in the Games, your character will be killed off.

Events Hey, we like to have fun, and these are ways that we do that. In-HouseOccasionally, we'll have some sort of event in our Event Subforum. These events are either planned by the crew, or by members. So how can you host an event? Check out this thread for more information. Out of HouseLarger events that take up a lot of time, will be held in our event guild, which for the moment, is coming soon. RecruitmentOccasionally, events will be set up out in the Main Forums of Gaia in the hopes of getting people to join the guild. These are planned mostly by the crew and will be announced.

Contests Occasionally, contests will occur in the guild, hosted by the staff of the guild. The Reaping Don't worry, we're not talking about throwing you into the Games. We're talking about our lottery. Taking place on a random basis a thread will be opened. If you post there, you will receive a number. When the thread closes, a random number will be selected. If it is your number, you have won a rule-free wish. Of course, the Captain has to approve of it.
Prizes Occasionally, events will open up that will give out prizes other than wishes. You shouldn't bribe anyone in these, and you should never whine about not winning.
Donations The crew is not made of gold. So, if you're feeling like a nice person, you should donate to Gamemaker Muffincakes. She's our mule!

Battle Yeah, we know. Fights are going to happen in this guild. There are a couple of ways you can roleplay them out. Discussion If you don't wanna use the dice, just have a nice discussion with your partner what you want the result to be. Now, just cause you know who wins, doesn't mean they escape without a scratch, or that the other person is dead. You can still get pretty beat up, even if you win.
Dice This can be pretty complicated. So, you're probably gonna want to take notes, or at least bookmark this post. Here's what you want to keep in mind:
+ We use a D20.
+ If you roll a 5, 10, 15, you hit your opponent. - Five hits results in loss of one life.
+ If you roll a 20, you critically hit your opponent. - One critical hit results in the loss of one life. + If you roll a 1, you have critically failed. - This results in the loss of one of your own lives, as you have likely caused damage to yourself.
+ You have three lives unless you are a Career, or have scored above 10 in Training. - The loss of a life should seriously affect your character. - Lose all your lives, and your character is dead.

Thread Construction There are threads you can create in roleplay areas. These are the kinds you are allowed to make. Homes Your characters need someplace to live, and if they live in the Districts, chances are, they only have one house. Here are the guidelines:
1. Homes need a title. Something like "Odair Cottage" or "Effie Trinket's Apartment." District 13 residents should set their homes up as "Compartment 207: Everdeen."
2. The first post should be describing what your home looks like. Talk about the rooms, and any outdoor property that may be attached to the home.
3. The second post should have a list of the current occupants and their current location.
Shops If your character owns a shop, they may set up their own thread, however, please make sure that your shop is canon, or at least would make sense where you set it up. Otherwise, the crew may lock and move your thread.
