This is a RP between Aderyn yr Eira Duliisdi and Badgey.

The world was quiet, as if it was expecting something big to come lumbering out of the shadows and cause destruction in its wake. What was a monster? Was it a figment of your imagination or something so real that it was appropriate to have shivers of fear tingle down your spine? Or was a monster a combination of both? An illusion mixed with reality; those were the most terrifying of them all.

Things that went bump in the night did not scare Aderyn, even with the awe inspiring, terrifying horror stories that her father wove. She saw the night as a sense of adventure, of a world not yet discovered for there were still so many mysteries out there and juicy stories that send shivers down the backs of those who listen.

She has heard rumors about a haunted cave near her location and was curious to see if it was actually haunted or just a figment of the terrified imagination. The mare who loved mystery and horror continued on her journey to find the cave and hoped that along the way she would encounter another who shared the same interest. A wide smile appeared on her countenance, let the ghost hunting begin.

Badgey had had a long day of doing.. well, pretty much nothing. Eat, sleep, graze, relax. That was pretty much all he had done. And it had been boring. There hadn't been anything fun to do all day, no one to even talk to. What was the point of a day like today? Days were supposed to be full of fun and adventure, not wondering how many blades of grass were in the plains. Yeah, that's just how bored he had been.

Night had taken over the Kawani lands and the crickets and frogs and other night creatures began to sing their songs. It wasn't anything he wasn't used to, but there seemed to be an eerie feeling in the air tonight. There were clouds that covered the moon causing dark shadows to cast themselves over the landscape making trees look like monsters and other Soquili like the things of nightmares. But Badgey wasn't afraid. He just thought it looked kind of cool, really.

As he wandered the plains, only his head peeking above the long grasses, he noticed a mare who seemed to be looking for something. Ooh, this could be fun. A broad smile came across his face. He sunk low enough that he could see over the blades of grasses and headed in her direction. Night was the perfect cover for him, considering his dark coat.

Slowly, carefully, he snuck closer to the mare. Closer... Closer...

He was practically right beside her. He wouldn't dare stand behind a Soquili in case they were to spook and buck out at him. So as he stood beside her, his head right under the blades of grass, he yelled, "BOO!"

Aderyn was silent as she walked through the tall grass, the night was eerie and she loved it. Scary stories filtered through her mind and a pang of home sickness hit the mare, she missed her father and mother. She shook herself, she had a ghost to catch and could not think about the past. She was so absorbed in her thoughts that she did not even notice that she was being followed. When the usida yelled out ‘Boo’, the mare gave a start and a little surprised neigh and then began to laugh, “That was great! You are very sneaky.” She continued to laugh as her heart rate went down and her adrenalin slowly dissipated. She smiled at the little dark usida, “You know, not many others would be appreciative of being scared during a spooky night. I on the other hoof, love it.”

She continued to give a soft giggle as she remembered it over and over, “You really got me. I am Aderyn yr Eira Duliisdi, you can call me Aderyn.” She paused for a moment and then a sly smile appeared on her countenance, “So, since you scared me, are you up for a scare of your own?” Even if she did not know him, she wanted to have someone to hunt ghosts with, “How do you feel about exploring a haunted cave?”

Badgey laughed as soon as the mare reacted. He had done it! His first prank of the day and it was glorious. He had just been itching to give someone a good scare lately and now that he finally got to, he felt like he had accomplished something big. At her compliment, though, he was slightly taken aback as the smile slowly froze on his face. She wasn't going to yell at him? Wasn't mad at him? Well, that was new. But he liked it. "I'm glad you enjoyed it, haha!" He smirked.

As she pronounced her very long name, Badgey could only stare at her dumbfounded. It sounded long. And confusing. But luckily she allowed him to call her Aderyn. And she was already inviting him on an adventure? This was definitely a mare he could get along with! "Hey, Aderyn! I'm Badgey. And yeah, I'm totally up for that!" His tail twitched in excitement as he stomped a hoof and grinned. He loved a good adventure! And a haunted one at that? Even better!

"So, where is this haunted cave you're talking about?" He titled his head in questioning.

She saw that her words had taken the little soquili by surprise, he had meant to scare her out of her skin, which he achieved but her reaction was not of the norm; having a father who loved to tell scary stories would definitely change one’s definition of fright. “You did quite well, I have not had someone sneak up on me in a while, I guess I was quite distracted.” She gave him a mirthful smile and bowed her head to the usida, “It is a pleasure to meet you Badgey.” Aderyn turned her gaze to the land before her, they were close to the place of haunts, she could feel it in her bones.

“It is not far from here, it is in the deepest part of the forest, where the light does not seem to be able to break through the thick canopy of trees. And within the cave people have said that they hear haunted voices echoing off the walls and cold compresses if they dare enter too far into the territory of the dead.” She was not sure if the rumors were true, but it was completely worth it if they were, turned her gaze back to her new friend, “Ready to hunt some ghosts?”

Badgey was hooked on her every word, his imagination running wild with assumptions of ghosts and ghouls and monsters. He needed a good fright! It would be fun! At least he hoped it would be. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad with a new friend by his side. She certainly didn't seem scared herself, so that made the adventure even more fun.

As she explained the haunted forest, though, he could feel himself starting to get more and more anxious, as if his adrenaline was already rising. It was amazing just what words could do, but what if those words came to life? Badgey shivered just thinking about it.

"Oh yeah, I'm ready!" A large grin spread across his face as it was met with determination. He had been waiting for an opportunity like this for a long while, and he was extremely excited to be doing something so riveting and reckless! He hoped it would be, anyway.
