So, now that I am not working stupid hours and have a character accepted and up on the site, I was wondering where I could jump into RP. I see most of the activity, almost all of it infact, is in Egypt, and I'm not really sure where to jump in there. I don't mind actually being there, but I don't want to disrupt whats going on too much, so I was wondering if anyone was down to either start something in Egypt, or elsewhere, with my character. I heard there was possibilities of Japan as well, so either one.

The other stuff was a couple questions. What sectors are aligned to what ideology? Also, what is the real state of East vs West? If a westerner is in the East or vice versa, what happens if their identity is known? The last being, since America and Canada are deciding to send troops over, has that happened or is just on the agenda, and what has so far been the response to that?

I do concur with you that most of the activity is indeed in Egypt. There will be some activity starting in Japan with the captain and I, so hopefully that will inspire others to start posting there, too. Honestly, you could jump in anywhere and someone would join you. Whether it be in Egypt, Japan, or elsewhere on the map. People are always looking for someone to roleplay with(including myself) so if you post, I don't think you should have a problem with someone replying.

When it comes to the whole, "Ideology" thing of the sectors, in my opinion, it is as follows.
The Western Sectors, what you would think of as mainly the "Super Power" nations, have views that technology benefits humanity greatly, and they try to use it as much as possible. With technology comes the price of natural resources, which is where the act of sending people in comes to play. Just like in any war, there are leaders you wish to kill. The troops that are being sent over are doing just that. Killing diplomats, politicians, etc. Anything to keep the other side's words away from the people. This is the WESTERN ideology(to me). I'll put it simply:
We have to kill everyone we can to get anything we can, and we won't stop until we do it.

The Eastern is a different story. And I think a lot of people are also confused about what is East, and what is West. I believe that all of the West is North America, South America, and Europe. Russia confuses me because I expect at least half of that country to be Eastern, unless in the Roleplay the Westerners have kicked them out. I'm not sure!

East would be Africa, That tiny part of Russia perhaps?, The Middle East, and Asia. I also understand how South America being part of the west could be put into question, but like I said before, I think of the West as some of the main superpowers. South America in itself is probably an Agricultural Superpower, and with their close proximity to North America, I assume they were industrialized even more. Anyways! The East's ideology would be a little more complicated that the West's. They would live just as they did in the times technology was not introduced. I'm talkin' ox carts and like...Meat dried with salt. What would make the East's viewpoint a bit more complex would be that a lot of the parts of the East are literally in different points of time. Africa, for example. Their people probably have no qualms about living life as they did thousands of years ago. Even with wars that might've raged on there because of the West, I suspect that they would still have the tiniest bit of technology, just as every other Eastern sector has.

So. Africa is living in their own time. Then you get to the Middle East, which is a bit more modernized than Africa. (Egypt is it's own story, i'm not even starting with that...) Then you would go to Asia. Japan would be isolated just as it was many years ago, and China would be made up of farmers, and other people wanting to make a living. China would most likely be the most industrialized of the East. They are a superpower themselves, so they would have bits and pieces of technology, too. To be put simply, East's ideology:
We want to live our own lives with what we've got. If someone comes and disturbs our peace, we will strike back.

This entire blurb of text is just saying that East and West, just as they are now, are in chaos, and most have taken steps back in time, and most have stayed in their place, advancing bit by bit. But I believe that the East influences the West, and vise versa. I can tell you for a damn fact that the Politicians in the the West love the all-natural Moroccan and Egyptian NATURAL oils that make their skin oh-so-soft and manage to be stolen from the East. And I know that the leaders in the East find guns and computers freaking fascinating, and they probably have their own collections to show guests. That's just how it works.
Their ideology's are intermixed with each other in the slightest of ways.

If a westerner is caught in the east obviously killing someone, lol, they would be sought out. If they are just spotted in the east...They could be lucky and pass as a tourist, or be exiled. The eastern people just want to live life. It's like being in South Africa right after the apartheid period and seeing a tall, rich white man. (...Is that a good analogy? I don't even know. ) Same goes for Easterner in West.

Last thing. America and Canada. I...didn't know they were planning on sending troops over? If they are, I'd like to know who the hell ordered that, because that's totally not happening. The idea of America and Canada sending troops over to the East would just end up in total shitstorm.
What would they even do? Watch civilians closely? They're just living their own lives. Nothing bad has happened in the Roleplay yet to ignite such a reaction. What's going on now is the "calm before the storm." Everyone is waiting for something big to happen. Right now, I can only guess there are small things. Spies being sent out, spies being killed. Small bases being blown up, information being received. Plans about attacking being thought out. Plans of defense. If troops started being sent over, it would just be one whole clusterf*ck. Their are small amounts of troops in every area, for sure, but they're just scouting. Being given missions that correspond to what comes up. Got me?

I hope this has answered your questions. I know most of it is rather long and...Well, not useful, but...It's there. c:

Hey, thank you for answering my questions, it did help quite a lot, especially figuring out what everything is. That was one of my major problems, trying to figure out who'd be where and why.

As for the America/Canada sending troops over idea, that was from one of the guild announcements about the time skip occurring by MsFireStarter. The small scale stuff sounded like what I thought was going on, I just saw that and wondered how far into that plot arc had occurred and how much was coming on.

Thank you again for helping me out with that much info. That's exactly the kind of stuff I was looking for. biggrin
