Natsu was brimming with excitement. The moon was shining, the breeze was light, and the snow-covered landscape was a diamond wonderland! He was going to see his Viveka, his sweet, loving, irreplaceable Viveka, high up in the mountains of Zena. His hair was freshly combed, his clothes clean and pressed, and a make shift "bouquet" of grass and wild flowers was held gently to his side. It had been so very long since he had been able to travel up to see his lover without anyone wishing to follow him. Mycah wanted to see a friend, Rastian needed a guide, even Sangita had requested to accompany him on his trip, marring any chance he had at alone time with his beloved! Well, no more of that! At least not tonight, tonight was going to be perfect!
He snuck his way around the back of Viveka's home, a lovely little abode made of stone which had been painted many colors over the years, and knocked softly upon small door that had been partially covered with snow.
"Veka, oh my Viveka?" He whispered. "I've come to see you, alone this time, I swear!"

Ever so slowly the door squeaked open and a pair of glowing amber eyes peered through the crack. They moved up, down, and all around, before the door swung wide open and a hand lunged out to yank Natsu inside. It was a gentle tug, really, but a very excited one at that. One that spoke volumes on just how much the visit meant to the one doing the tugging. He was relatively thin, with more a of a womanly shape to him, and as soon as he was through locking the door, he was all over Natsu.
"Natsu! Oh, Natsu I've missed you so so so soooo much!" Viveka cried, practically leaping on top of his lover. He snuggled his cheek into his chest, heaved a very contented sigh, and caressed the side of Natsu's face. Oooh, his Natsu was home, home for the night! They could finally be alone together after so many weeks spent apart! They had so much catching up to do! He wanted to hear EVERYTHING! Where had Natsu been? What weather had Mez been through? How was his nephew?! SO MANY QUESTIONS!
"Come, sit! We have a lot to talk about!" He chirped, leading Natsu to a seating area set up next to a stone fire place. Upon the fire was a pot of tea, which he had made extra of just in case Natsu managed to come over for alone time. He hovered over it, stirring it's contents for a short while, before turning his gaze to Natsu. 'You just relax, the tea will be ready soon!"

Natsu let out a squeak of his own as he was tugged inside, though it was laced with a lively sort of laughter. Viveka was as happy to see him as he was to see HIM! He felt a twinge of guilt while his lover locked the door, he really wished he could visit more freely! But the whole set up, them being two men and Viveka being placed in an arranged marriage, it just wasn't plausible to come traipsing over whenever he wanted! No matter how much he wanted to be able to say how he felt out in the open where the world could hear him, it was becoming more and more impossible.
Then, Viveka's cuddles broke his train of thought, and a smile was brought back to his face. He chuckled, held Viveka close to his chest, and allowed himself to be moved to a chair in order to wait for tea. Aaah, if it there was anything more that Viveka loved, besides sculpting and cuddling, it was making and drinking tea. Natsu always enjoyed a good strong cup of tea whenever he came to visit, but not as much as lounging around with Viveka when no one was around. He stood, undid his coat, and placed his arms around Viveka as he fiddled with the tea pot.
"How can you expect me to remain in my seat while you're being so darn cute?" He muttered, snuggling his cheek against Viveka's hair. He loved the smell of his lover's tresses, it was an odd thing, really, but they always had the scent of ripe berries, one of his favorite snacks. "Your hair smells like berries, what have you been bathing in?" He teased.

Viveka's cheeks became flushed as he was teased. What had he been bathing in? Certainly not berries! Well, maybe... He smirked, nuzzled Natsu back, and rolled his eyes. Okay, he had been trying to make himself more appealing, even if it meant crushing fruit and putting it in his soap when he bathed. He wanted to smell pretty when Natsu came to see him! If he reeked of sweat and hadn't bathed, Natsu would think he was absolutely repulsive! Plus, he quite liked the scent himself, it reminded him of tea!
"Ooo, just this berry soap that my neighbor makes..." He mumbled, reaching for a pair of tea-cups to his side. He gently cradled them in his palms as he poured the tea into them and handed the second he had poured to Natsu. "Now, I've been busy making this all day, we shouldn't be enjoying it on the floor!"
With his free hand he pulled Natsu to his feet and lead him back to the chairs when he waited for him to sit down. Then, he plopped himself into his lover's lap and snuggled into his chest. "Perfect, simply perfect." He said. "I hope you don't have to get up any time soon, I'd be very saaad."

Natsu scoffed and planted a soft kiss upon Viveka's head. Him? Get up? With such a gorgeous being snuggling up against him? You'd have to be star craving mad to think that he'd find anything more important to do than cuddle with his lover! At this moment, nothing was more important to Natsu than his Viveka, this wonderful cup of tea, and the sheer stillness of the room. The fire danced along the walls, casting shadows and sparks of light again and again, a visual lullaby for the tired mind. He shifted slightly in his seat, allowing Viveka to place his head just under his chin, and sighed.
"Do you know how much I adore you...?" He asked, placing his tea cup on a shelf to his side. "He who is my moon, my stars, and my sky...?"

"Ooo, Natsuuuu!" Viveka laughed, giving the other a soft bat to the nose. Natsu just had to add a poem to everything, especially when visiting him, didn't he? Not that he could complain very much, it was lovely to receive poetry from the object of his desires, just not every single second! Couldn't he save a line or two for a later date? He didn't want to hear all of the beautiful words at once! He sighed, smirked, and kissed Natsu tenderly on the lips.
"You know, you should really save some of those lines for later..." He mumbled, winking. "You'll run out of words by the time we're married!"

Natsu melted into the kiss and rolled his eyes at Viveka's words. So what if he was using up all his lines? They were made for Viveka, and thus, they should always be said upon creation! He snuggled against Viveka and placed an idle hand upon his long dark hair, gently twisting the locks between his fingers. It was then that Viveka mentioned the prospect of them marrying one day, to which his eyes grew distant. Had something changed while he had been away?
"What of Eije, Veka?" He reluctantly asked, his body growing somewhat stiff as he spoke. "You are to marry her, not me. Has that changed since our last meeting...?"

Viveka froze, his heart beat accelerating. No, nothing had changed since he and Natsu last had private time together. He was still being forced to marry a girl he didn't love, whom, he was assured, didn't want to marry him either! Everyone was so happy about the coming wedding, it was going to be "beautiful." Well, certainly not for the groom being thrown into it! He hadn't even met the girl when she was introduced to him! Even if she was a nice girl whom he had no other qualms about, he still wanted nothing to do with her other than being a friend and a neighbor! None of this was fair at all!
Eventually he shivered, gripped Natsu's sides, and buried his face in his chest where a muffled scream was emitted. It wasn't fair! It wasn't fair! Why was he being forced to marry her?! He wanted Natsu! The heart beat that he was now pressed up against was the one he wanted to listen to for the rest of his days! He knew it by heart! It never skipped, it never wavered, and the prospect of having to be torn away from it forever was making him positively apoplectic! Why was the world being so cruel to him?!
"No, nothing has changed! Of course nothing has changed!" He cried, the words flying out like a smack in the face. "It just isn't fair, Natsu! It just isn't fair!"

He had prepared for this, a full meltdown from his true love, but it was no less painful to watch than to hear. Natsu wanted to marry Viveka, of course he did, but this arranged marriage was the wedge that prevented them from ever reaching for all the beauty that life could offer them. There were so many things that Natsu had dreamed about, wished and pined for during his relationship with Viveka, things he knew his lover shared the same feelings for. A house, a family, a Raptrix or two to guard and attend to, and a darling old couple that would carry their grandchildren upon their shoulders from Zena to Jauhar telling stories stashed within all those wonderful years gone by.
But now, as he cradled his sobbing lover, his own emotions reaching their peak, those dreams seemed unobtainable, unfathomable.
Impossible.
"Life is never fair, Viveka..." Natsu replied, wiping tears from Viveka's cheeks. "All that we can do is cry, take our time to heal, and..." He paused, biting back his own tears. "Move on with our lives..."

Move on with their lives. Did Natsu really just utter those horrible words...? Viveka's mind began to spin as he gazed up to his lover, befuddled as to why he would dare speak such a upsetting sentence. Surely he didn't mean that they would be saying a permanent good bye once he was married to Eije? Was that what he was saying? He couldn't mean that! No! Viveka would NOT stand for it! If there was one thing he would garner the courage to slam his foot down upon, it was having to separate from Natsu for good! THAT WOULD NOT BE HAPPENING!
"Never, NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EEEEEEEVVVEERR, will I agree to a life where I must live away from you!" He screamed, grabbing Natsu's hands. "There is nothing that would make me agree to that! You're bloody insane!"

Now it was impossible to hold himself back, his emotions were just too violent! Natsu's face fell as the tears came streaming down his face. Viveka was acting far worse than he had predicted! He was irate, crying, and screaming as if he was being physically assaulted! What was he going to do to get him to understand that they couldn't be together while he was married to someone else?! That wasn't morally right! They could both get in serious trouble!
"I'm sorry, Viveka! I'm sorry!" He cried, tugging his hands away. "But when you're married to someone, you should never cheat on them! If we stayed together after your wedding, we would be considered adulterers! Our reputations would be tarnished and..." He took a breath, letting out a cough as he did, before continuing. "That can never be undone, and you know that!"

"YOU'RE SORRY?!" Viveka howled, jumping up from Natsu's lap. Natsu wasn't sorry, not if he was breaking up with him, which he certainly was! How could he do this to him?! He trusted Natsu with his heart, his dreams, HIS HOPE! Why, WHY, why would he betray him like this?! His pulse increased as he began to pace back and forth, flailing his arms around as he went, his stress level raging far passed normal levels.
"OUR REPUTATIONS?! WHAT SORT OF EXCUSE IS THAT?!" He snapped. "Was I just some sort of accessory for your reputation to base off of or something?!"

"No, absolutely not!" Natsu gasped, a horrified look upon his face. How could Viveka think something that cruel about him? He had treated Viveka as his gem, his lifeline, his WORLD! Of course he wasn't using him, he wasn't heartless! He bit his lip, whined, and buried his face in his hands. Why was he being treated so poorly? He was only doing what he thought was best! Was Viveka really going to hate him, just as he had always feared?
He shook, sputtered, and raised his knees to his chest. Maybe if he just curled into a ball and kept quiet, Viveka would stop being so cruel.

As Natsu hoped, Viveka took a step back and fell quiet. Sure, he was still upset about all that was going on, but now he knew he had gone too far. Amber eyes resorted to closing and hiding under his arms as he sat upon the cold, stone floor before Natsu's feet. What a wonderful way to express your upset, Viveka. You've insulted the only man you have ever loved, the one person who understood you from inside and out. Shows just how good of a partner you've been, huh?
After a minute or so of silence, his head rose to gaze to Natsu again, who was still cowering in his self-made ball. A heavy sigh passed through his lips as he raised his hand to tousle Natsu's hair.
"I'm so sorry that I hurt your feelings, Natsu..." He said, gazing to the floor afterwards. His eyes meandered the room a moment before they fell back upon Natsu's hair, and another, gentler, sigh was released. "Could we please have just one last weekend together? It would make me feel so much better..."

As the apology hit his ears, a part of Natsu wanted to rise up and seek revenge against his hurt feelings. Luckily, logic overpowered it, and the apology was received as well as any other. He raised his head, tilted it slightly, but remained silent. A last weekend? Was that really such a good idea? The thought of having an entire weekend alone with Viveka sounded wonderful, but once the word "last" was added into the mix, the thought lost it's glamour. He pursed his lip, sighed, and nodded.
"I think that would be a lovely idea, Viveka." He said. "But, where would we go? We obviously can't stay here... Not with Eije and your father wandering about..."
