Zel had a theory - a theory he'd been holding for some time. Thanks to the wonderful thing that was critter, he had a niggling little suspicion that some of his friends were engaged in a rather interesting hidden relationship. Obviously one did not just hand out a certain thing as their full name to any ghoul they met.

He certainly hadn't.

Unless Rosy had been bluffing - but he really didn't think she was that cruel.

So it was, after a little bit of recon, that he found himself in front of Siku's dorm room. It had been a bit of a walk, so it was really a test to see if Rosy was hanging out in his dorm or not.

If she was - then he was pretty sure they were dating.

If not - well maybe he could talk to him about the spar they'd had after the test.

Either way. It was bound to be interesting conversation.

Rapping his knuckles against the door a few times, he waited for a reply.

At the rap against his door the chilly demon kicked off his crystal couch and headed to answer the call. "Who could it be..." He muttered curiously to himself, having been expecting no guest, much less having not invited anyone to his dorm. Grasping the blue knob of the door he pulls it open and released the cold air out and upon the guest. "Zel..." A purr of the other boils name sounded as he moved to lean against the opened door, normally the door would instantly be pulled to and Spinar on the opposite end for the chat, but considering this was Zel, his privacy issues didn't flare as they normally did.

Inside of the door was quite the sight, a room as cold as ice and decorated in transparent crystal and fur. In the middle of the entrance was a table, upon it sat a very familiar phone among the demons movie collection. A charming as ever smirk was flashed to the other before he spoke, "to what do I owe the honor? Perhaps another spar is on your mind?" He was still a little sore about losing, BARELY, last time.

Zel wasn't normally the nosy sort, but just the backdrop of Siku's room gave him a moment of pause. It made an odd amount of sense though, Siku was a frost demon after all. The boil would want to be comfortable and he was starting to understand just how far the school went to ensure that its students were able to reside within its walls and still feel like they never left home. He listened as the other boil began to speak, his eyes darting over the room until it landed on the table. Blinking for a moment, he simply pushed past Siku and over to the phone, picking it up and turning it over in his hands for a moment to verify it was in fact what he thought it was.

"Where... No... How, did you get this?" Zel raised the phone and pointed it toward Siku, his voice suddenly on the verge of sounding - angry? Upset?

Whatever emotion his voice was trying to convey, it was obvious the Cornugon was upset. His tail was thrashing against the floor and his wings had extended to their full length, suddenly making the already tall seven-and-a-half-foot boil look even bigger.

"This is Amarus' phone... How... Did you get this?" Zel's tone flatly stated he was not going to be leaving without an answer. His eyes told Siku that he better chose his next words carefully. Zel's temper was up - it wouldn't take much to start fists to flying.

As the other boil pushed past him he scowled. What the jack did he think he was doing? Just because Spinar tolerated him didn't give him the right to come into his dorm. His dorm was sacred, considering it held so many truths about himself. "Hey what the Jack man?" He growled shutting the door behind him as he turned to the other.

The temperature in the room dropped heavily due to the frost demons anger.

Spinar blinked down to the object that Zel had picked up, while it made him angry that the other simply touched things in his dorm, the item did register and he paused. Was this a jealousy kick? Was the Cornugon's tone and spontaneous entrance due to his girlfriends cellphone? Well it made sense to speculate something, he was charming after all.

Flatter but annoyed he held his hands up in a defensive gesture and shook his head, "I found it..." Though considering it was in his pocket he couldn't really say ask Rosy, however he did noted the option knowing she would lie for him, besides it really wasn't a lie. "At prom." As the wings spread out he growled and slapped his own tail against the icy floor, moving towards Zel, his huge a** was going to wreck his room. "Settle down big'en, if you break my stuff.." His tone was warning, obviously not playing around about anything being broken in the room. All of his items were precious for a reason, it was simply his way.

"It was soaked in the punch bowl and I pocketed it, given it's not my job to track her down I spent the rest of the night with Rosy and decided to let it dry out before I returned it to Maru." Continuing he tried to clear things up, but held the serious tone and gaze right back at the other. He wasn't letting this nerd trash his room because of his own insecurities. "Shouldn't you know this, I mean you two are dating right?" He asked, tone flat now and eye twitching slightly.

At Siku's explanation of the situation, Zel simply let the phone slip from his fingers to land on the floor. Shaking his head slowly, trying to clear it of the anger, hurt, rage and distress. "I don't even know anymore," Zel spat out bluntly, his throat catching as he said the words.

"I was supposed to meet her at Prom and then a friend needed me, I texted her to let her know what was going on, and have been trying to get a hold of her since. At least now I know why she wasn't getting any of my texts..." he looked down at the phone on the floor and took a deep breath. He wanted to rage. He wanted to weep.

Frankly he refused to weep because Siku would just tease him forever. He refused to rage because he didn't want to damage anything in the boil's room. He had more respect for his friend than that. Sighing he looked around and rubbed the bridge of his nose between two fingers. His head hurt. His chest hurt. His stomach felt like it was rolling and about to sick up everywhere.

The pure and simple fact was - he didn't know where he and Amarus stood anymore. It seemed to him she'd made her message quite clear with the destruction of her phone.

Crouching down carefully to pick up the phone, he placed it back down on the table with a slight sigh. "Sorry, Siku... I overreacted... The fault is not with you." His voice was a lot calmer now - actually almost, cold. Listless even. "I'm sorry if I interrupted you... I forget what I even came here in the first place for - it was something important... I think, but I can't for the life of me remember."

Looking at the other boil, it was pretty obvious that the Cornugon was definitely not playing with a full deck. "... I should probably go... again - sorry I lost it there..." He turned heading toward the boil's door. Not quickly, but obviously not thinking Siku would try and stop him either.

Judging by the facial expression or the lack there of, Spinar gathered this was news to the other boil. Was it really that hard to keep tabs on your ghoul? Or maybe it was just because Zel was one of those to nice of a boil kind of boils? Likely the later. "So I see," Spinar replied, though his tone wasn't nearly as cheeky as it should have been.

Part of him honestly felt sorry for the boil, looking at the pathetic sight, though mostly because said pathetic sight had recently kicked his a**. This was a matter of his own pride...Kind of.

"Maru's a little strange, though you likely know this." He offered, a flip of his hand in a dismissive gesture. The ghoul likely accidentally dropped it or maybe it was stolen? Spinar wasn't sure so he didn't say either way. "Most ghouls are...are you sure this isn't one of those...chase me things?" He smirked a little, eyes darkening a little as his tone sunk deeper. Something about his smile gave away the hint that he may have had some experience in this matter himself.

Honestly he was waiting for Zel to cry, a hand had already slid into his pocket for that oh so delicious, blackmail worthy sight should it come. In fact..he might have been trying to provoke said reaction just a little, for his own pleasure of course. Watching as the phone was placed on the table he tilted his head and moved over to his sofa. Plopping down on the crystal structure and shaking his head. This would be amusing if it wasn't so down right- an apology, oh jack.

A mocking laughter erupted from his lips and he patted the fur on the sofa next to him as Zel apologized and tried to escape. The cold calmer tone was one he had been familiar with and honestly what had spurred him to offer, "sit. We are obviously not the best of friends and of course crying on my shoulder would only freeze you..but you might as well stay and talk now that you are here." This wasn't a sympathetic offer, it was curiosity and maybe an attempt to aid a fellow boil. Besides maybe while they talked Zel would remember what he had came here for, that was something Spinar wanted to know.

"My friend you've obviously not realized that ghouls are nothing but trouble...but only if you let them be." Spinar smirked smugly and kicked off the sofa, "I'm going to grab myself a drink if you want one and wish to stay follow me to the kitchen, we can...have some quality boil time...or whatever you want to call it." Snickering he headed in the direction of the small kitchen, by small it was simply a fridge, no stove to be seen, which probably wasn't really a surprise.

He wasn't sure if it was the shock of Siku actually caring enough to talk out Zel's problem, or just the offer itself, but Zel stopped dead in his tracks and turned to look at the other boil with completely unconcealed awe. This was, unusual to say the least. Though the boil was right, they were hardly best friends... Frienemies would have probably been the better term.

Maybe it was time to change that?

Turning, Zel followed the frost demon boil into his small kitchen area. Zel had forgone one in his own dorm - food and books never mixed in his opinion. But he wasn't about to decline an offer at talking this out at this point.

He needed someone to listen to him - and maybe, just maybe, he'd learn something from Siku as well. It was obvious the boil knew more about ghouls than he did, and if Zel knew anything - it was to learn from those in the know.

SHOCK AND AWE
PostPosted: Mon Aug 19, 2013 5:56 am

The look of utter shock and disbelief was refreshing, it was a side he wasn't use to seeing on Zel and Spinar loved to be the one that threw people out of their element. By any means. Leading the other boil to the kitchen he stretched absently while looking in the fridge. There was some juice, a few sports drink he used when playing casketball and some water in a pitcher to remain cold. "Care for something?" Spinar pulled out a sports drink of his own then stepped to the side to hold the door open.

After getting their drinks, if Zel chose to take one, Spinar started back for the crystal couch. Smoothing the fur down with one hand he sat and peered towards Zel. How to approach this? Maybe he should finally learn the whole story, or at least Zel's side, considering it wasn't hard to tell there was one here. "Let's start from the beginning hm, you have my undivided attention." At least for now.

"Amarus and I met during a study group. She convinced me to ditch the studying and go off for a bit - I don't know how - but something about her just made me want to go with it. It might be in relation to a dream I had awhile ago, but Jack if I know why." Zel began, figuring he might as well start from the actual beginning.

"One thing led to another and we spent the rest of the day pretty much cuddled up. Well kinda figured I'd ask her to the scarentines festival so we went and did that. Then when we got back to my room after... I asked her to be my ghoulfriend." He ran a claw along Siku's couch, wondering if he'd be able to gouge it with his claws, but not really wanting to damage it.

"She said yes, and I was looking forward to having a ghoulfriend and seeing what that was all about." Zel admitted openly. "I'm sure it's no surprise to you I'm not - well versed - in the subject of ghouls."

"But things... Didn't go as planned. I got sucked into studying - she must have gotten sucked into some endeavor of her own because we didn't really see each other except on critter for almost two months. Then she started texting me asking if we could make things better and I told her we could talk it out. I even asked her out to Prom because I wanted to be sure she went with me and we could have a good time."

He huffed a bit remembering Prom with a frown. "You know how Prom went..." he said, rubbing the bridge of his nose for a moment before watching the other boil. "So I have no clue where she and I stand, but I have to assume she doesn't want to talk to me anymore."

He didn't even know the first place to find her except her hideout and there was no guarantee she was going to be there. He had a life to live and he couldn't balance school and chasing after a ghoul.

His father's insistence he focus on studying and not chase after ghouls was making much more sense now...

A dream he had? Spinar blinked then wondered curiously if perhaps it had anything to do with the kingdom dreams that he and Xiu had previously had. Had the whole school experienced these dreams, these alternate lives? Noting this for later questioning he leaned back on the sofa, cracking his can open and taking a swig of the pure sugar filled sports drink. How these things were ever supposed to refuel someone was beyond him but he could now be assured he would stay away through this oh so tragic train-wreck.

"You dog," he interrupted on a snicker at the part of them being 'cuddled up all day'. Was that the new phrase for it? Either way at least he hadn't said copulation like Frost, though that would have been far more amusing. Scarentines festival his nose wrinkled at the sheer reminder of the holiday festival. Such a stupid thing Scarentines. "See that's your problem...ghoulfriend. Never ask that, it only makes things worse." He says in a snort, eyes watching the claw skim his couch but not really minding the gesture since the crystal was fairly hard.

As Zel admitted his own lack of experience with ghouls Spinar snorted, clearly knowing as much already but not giving him as hard as a time as he would normally. Propping his feet up on his coffee table he took another drink, listening as Zel continued and started on prom. Well it sounded much as he put it short-lived and not well at that. They didn't seem compatible to him as it was so really he wasn't surprised with the end result but for the other boil he put on a semi-shocked look before shaking his head, "that..well its not surprising." Spinar broke, unable to hold the look of shock and surprise.

"Listen, " he started on a dramatic sigh and began to lay it out for the other boil. "Ghouls are a complicated mess that just want to drag us in on their problems. Likely Mar wanted you to chase her, she's a ghoul, they all do that kind of thing. She probably expected you to show up and sweep her off her feet or some nonsense at prom and whatever happened, happened. My point is, you jacked it all up in the first place by even asking her to be your ghoulfriend. If you want experience with ghouls, play the field and by that I mean don't run all over it after one ghoul. They like the chase as much as being chase if you catch my drift. " Pausing for effect he finished off his drink and clicked his claws together, "if you want to mend things with Mar, find her. Go to her dorm, leave a message on her critter, whatever. Now. By mend I don't mean go back to running around like a mini with its head cut off, tell her you want to try dating again, NOT that you want things the same because obviously that's not working." Looking over Zel he added, "though to be terribly honest, I think at this point you should just go back to studying, this pathetic side of you kind of creeps me out..."

Zel thought about Siku's advice for a moment, his fingers drumming lightly against the crystal couch before finally he turned to fully face the other male. "That... Makes a lot of sense actually." He said, both hands moving to the other boil's shoulders and shaking him a tad.

"I ran into thinks too quickly and that was my mistake. It is better to just let things take their natural course and that is exactly what I'll do. Because you're right - I'm better served studying than worrying over a ghoul."

With that, he stood up and nodded his head at the other boil. "Thank you for the drink and the advice. I think I will take my leave now."

Looking around the room one last time, he suddenly remembered why he had shown up in the first place.

"Oh, and tell Rosy hi for me the next time you see her."

With that, he made his way to the door to show himself out.

Spinar's face moved back a little as Zel's hands clasped around his shoulders for the shake. He didn't register the gesture and was a little wary but went with it and gave a snicker. "Sure. Just don't forget to have some fun.." He replied to the other boil, the word fun stretched for suggestion. For a moment he debated revealing his and Rosy's relationship and suggesting that Zel find him something similar but after a second thought he kept quiet.

Watching as Zel's sudden realization sparked him to a standing position Spinar simply blinked and looked on. Zel was a strange one, he still didn't understand him to well but really hadn't cared much to. Though this interaction had him now under the impression with the right wording and circumstances Zel could be played just as easily as any other sucker. "Of course, do return. Mm I'll let her know, I'm sure she'll be around sometime soon." Spinar watched the other boil head towards the door and simply gave a wave from the sofa not about to walk him out since he was far to lazy for such a thing.
