Niabi kicked her feet at the air from the branch she was sitting on. She had a lot on her mind lately and it was something she wasn't all too sure about.

Since she had met that earthling all she could think about was traveling; getting out in the world, seeing things, finding something besides fighting to live for. It was a weight that hung on her shoulders and made her feel a little weak, more so the more time went by. Maybe she should stick around long enough to become a blade before throwing herself at the world? Maybe it was too soon? Maybe it was too late for her? What if she had missed her window already and now she would never get out?

What if she didn't need to get out? Being a teenager was so aggrivating sometimes. She didn't know what to do with herself, and if she did, she would be too indecisive and cowardly to act on it. At least that's what she thought; she had never been put to the test as of yet.

She just could feel this deep down urge for change. Something needed to change, and soon. It was like a hole in her stomach.

Yaholo, being the master of poor entrances, had shuffled his way up the tree where Niabi was sitting after spotting her while walking down the path. He quickly balanced himself and made his way to Niabi's side as quietly as possible. His eyes studied her for a moment before he reached for his hammer and gently tapped her with it.

"Why the long face, sister?" He asked, chuckling. "You look like you've lost your most prized possession! Care to tell me what's bothering you?"

Niabi, so deep in thought at this point, hadn't even realized that she was being stalked. The hammer came down on her shoulder, and that combined with Yaholo's voice was enough to have her jumping almost out of the tree. She clenched her fists tightly around the vines circling the branch and tried to get her balance back.

"Eeep! Oh... Yaholo... y-you scared me." She let out a very large exhale before looking her friend in the eye. "You shouldn't do that to people... especially people sitting in trees." She laughed. Yaholo calmed her nerves most of the time, and she seemed to stutter much less when he was around. Strange really, with how loud and rowdy Yaholo was.

She sighed and looked down at her feet again. She opened her mouth a couple of times, trying to figure out the right way to word it. "Ya-Yaholo... Do you enjoy traveling between Tale and Jauhar?"

Yaholo did a slight jump himself when Niabi reacted and made a rather apologetic but sheepish face. He didn't mean to frighten her, really, it was just how he greeted people he knew. His father had always done the same thing to him while he was growing up and it was how he greeted practically everyone. To him, this form of greeting was as normal as the sun rising in the sky everyday, and it didn't really need to be changed.

"Haaa, sorry, Niabi!" He chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "I didn't mean to startle you! I just thought you could use a little wake up call, you looked like you were lost in your own mind!" He knew how that felt, to think far too much and then get trapped within his own thoughts. It wasn't fun, unless the thoughts were good, like food, guarding things and not falling on his a**. Then it was tons of fun!

As she asked her question, he peered upwards, pursed his lips and hummed. Hm, did he really enjoy traveling all the time? The pluses were good, meeting people, trading, petting the pretty animals. The minuses were not so cool, like getting hit by s**t, getting lost, and being bitten by animals. But, all in all, he liked to travel!

"Sure do!" He chirped, nodding. "I think it's exciting! I get to live in two different places, see all sorts of new faces, it's great!" He paused, giving her a slight smirk. "But... Why do you ask...?"

Niabi sighed at Yaholo's observation, though with a small smile on her face. She had been lost in thought, and she probably could have used the wake up call.

Yaholo's chipper answer on traveling only had Niabi's brows furrowing. Maybe it would be worth it. "I... I've been thinking about g-going out... and you know, traveling myself..." She flinched slightly as the words left her mouth. She hadn't actually said it out loud to anyone, these secret thoughts that she had, and Yaholo would probably think she was an idiot. Why would she need to travel? Yaholo went for the family, she just wanted to go to... well, to just go. She just wanted to get out and see some things. Maybe feel what snow felt like, see other animals, know what's out there for her. Maybe learn more about herself.

She lifted her eyes to Yaholo's face, waiting for the reaction she had been expecting, for someone to tell her she shouldn't.

Yaholo's eyes widened sharply before a rather devious grin spread across his features. Sooo, Niabi finally wanted to wander about and see the world for what it was worth, eh? Part of him wanted to immediately squeal and sing praises to Aisha that his best girlfriend wanted to go traveling, because he would likely be the one showing her around. But, he knew Niabi wouldn't appreciate all the excitement, and might get a little freaked out, and took a short breath before replying.

"Oooo, you want to go traveling...?" He asked, arching an eyebrow. "WELL. I can totally help you with that! Where were you thinking of going? I can tell you the best spots in Tale and in Sauti, because I've been there!" He smirked, feeling rather proud of that last bit. "I've also been to Zena, but you wouldn't like it there... It's freezing and... Yeah."

Niabi's face lit briefly at Yaholo's reaction before she covered it up with a deep breath and some effort. Yaholo didn't think she was dumb. Well, this was unexpected. She would have thought that almost everyone who knew her would side with her mothers and tell her that she didn't need to go. But there seemed to be so much to see out there, and there was so much she didn't know about. She smiled at Yaholo, a little more contained now than she had been at first. She bit her lip slightly before continuing on with the conversation. She didn't want to jump the gun and be a burden on Yaholo.

"Well actually... I was thinking about g-going to Zena. I met an earthling girl who had lived there... and well, I w-want to know what snow is..." She blushed furiously at the thought of having to admit that she didn't know what snow was or anything about it. "B-but... from what I hear... to get to Zena you have to go through a-all the other places?" And that was about the extent of her knowledge on the world they lived in. Really, she would like to see snow, but also all of the other animals. There had to be so much she didn't know about.

Oh. Okay. She wanted to go to Zena and be cold and pet fluffy animals. Don't be an a** and shoot down her dreams, Yaholo. That would be a terrible thing to do. You are Yaholo the Guard, not Yaholo the Dream Smasher. He leaned his chin upon the end of his hammer's handle and nodded along as Niabi spoke. Yep, you would have to leave Jauhar, go through Tale, then through Sauti, and finally end up in the exact opposite of your homeland, Zena. Going there was sort of fun, snow ball fights and friendly faces were practically everywhere, but if you weren't covered up enough... You were screwed, right then and there.

"Ooo, really?" He asked, his lip pursing as his expression turned increasingly curious. "What's her name? I might know her!" He chuckled, he knew everyone, he was fairly certain about that. Then, his eyes widened. He would have to introduce Niabi to EVERYBODY. Natsu, Viveka, Rastian, Ogbonna, Tayyib, Oulixes, Biroki, Winta, EVERYONE WOULD MEET NIABI! His eyes gleamed, a fair warning to his increasing excitement, before it all boiled up to the surface.

"You have to meet Natsu, he lives in Sauti, and he is AWESOME!" He exclaimed. "He has orange hair and he likes to travel, and he has a boyfriend!" He pursed his lips again, this time in a mock-miffed fashion. "Which I am SO jealous of..." He mumbled.

Niabi let out a soft laugh with Yaholo. He traveled so much, she wouldn't be surprised if he knew just about everybody. "W-well, her name was Zuri. I think she was a bit older than me though... m-maybe even older than you?" The last part she wasn't so sure about. To be totally honest, she didn't really know how old Yaholo was. He wasn't full earthling, and he wasn't full Alkidike, so it was hard to get a good read on anything like that.

She pursed her lips slightly, worried about meeting so many people. And Yaholo had named so many. She just hoped that he wouldn't get it in his head to introduce them all at once. Though with so many people she couldn't imagine them all living in the same place. After all, Yaholo had pretty much been everywhere. She sighed slightly, knowing that gleam in Yaholo's eyes. Niabi felt that she was no longer a burden to Yaholo but like a shiny new toy, ready to be showed off.

She smiled to her friend, she opened this Pandora's Box and now she was going to have to go along for the ride. "O-orange hair?" She tried to imagine it, but it was just too strange. She had only ever known the blacks and the whites that made up the Alkidike and Shifter hair colors. "I g-guess I'll have to s-see it for myself then."

She smiled to Yaholo and laughed lightly at his envy. Niabi wasn't all that ready to find anyone like that, so she hadn't really given boyfriends... and girlfriends any though.

"Zuri? I know Zuri!" Yaholo squealed, nodding. She was a half-breed just like he was, though not the same mix of course! He had gone fruit picking with her while he was walking home from Andile that day, his step-mother had loved all the food he had brought home. He paused, his thoughts drifting off onto how he had been stricken with such a terrible headache and embarrassed himself, too, and shook himself free from his thoughts. He was older now, surely he was wiser, too! No need to dwell on such silly things.

"Oh, don't worry, I'll take you to see him first!" He said, nodding along with her. "Unless you'd rather meet my buddies in Tale first! Tayyib knows some awesome dance moves and Minal can make the best drinks from fruit, it's like his obsession!" He rolled his eyes and smiled broadly at the thought of his friends back home in Yera. They were probably wondering where he was!

Niabi shouldn't have been surprised that Yaholo knew Zuri. Maybe if she hadn't lived such a sheltered life until now she would know more people also, but sadly that wasn't the case.

She bit her lip slightly at Yaholo's mentioning of meeting all of the people again, her hand reaching for her hair like it always did. "Well, I-I don't expect you to take me everywhere, Yaholo. I want to take my time... and I d-don't expect you to wait for me... That would be selfish." She wanted her trip to linger. Well, it would probably be many trips. She couldn't imagine going from Tale to Sauti to Zena and being able to experience it all in one long trip. Baby steps is what she continued to tell herself.

She didn't expect him to take her everywhere? Awww! But he wanted to show her everything! Why didn't she want him to be her guide to all the things? His lips went straight for a pout and he batted his eyes in a mock-teasing fashion.

"But... You'll miss so much if you stay put for too long!" He whined. "Think of all the things you've already missed! Why would you want to wait longer?"

Other than being Yaholo the Guard, he was also Yaholo the Master of Puppy Faces.

Niabi looked at Yaholo slightly blank and a little confused by his words, until she realized what it was that he meant. Then she giggled. "I-I meant that I want to stay wherever I visit... for a while. Not that I was going to wait around here... though I do plan on waiting around here for... a little while... a least." She thought about her mothers. She couldn't just up and leave tomorrow. Then she thought about herself. She wouldn't want to rush away and end up not being prepared. She needed to pack and get ready, and know what she was doing. Definitely needed some more time for that.

"And b-besides... I plan to go back and forth a lot... well, a decent amount at least... and I... well I can't ask you to keep following me the wh-whole way. You have a life too... and maybe a b-boyfriend?" Niabi teased Yaholo. She poked him lightly at the mention of boyfriend, ending with a laugh once more.

Ooooh, so she wanted to sleep over a few nights and get a feel for the area before running off for the next location! That was reasonable, he thought, very reasonable indeed. He changed his seating position so that he was cross legged while he listened to Niabi speak, only to lean backwards sharply when she teased him. Boyfriend?! H-how did she know that he had a crush on a guy?! Did she? Oh, quick, cover, cover!

"My life is primarily here, now, but that doesn't mean travel can't be a major part of it." He said, nervously. "Ah-um... But, me? Boyfriend? What gave you that idea? Who would want to be that close to me?"

Yes, beat yourself up, Yaholo. That was one way of going about it.

Niabi felt a small blush rise to her cheeks as Yaholo spoke of himself like that. It's not as if Yaholo was a bad looking man. Niabi didn't exactly know how to gauge the attractiveness of a male, but Yaholo wasn't disfigured... just different. She eyed him a bit before poking him once more. "Y-you say that as if something's wrong with you." She lifted an eyebrow at him questioningly before realizing that she probably shouldn't have been so nosy with her friend.

She shot her head down and looked back at her toes wiggling them to give her something to focus on besides the conversation. Niabi's lips twisted slightly, now worried that she had made things awkward. "I-I mean... there's somebody out there for everybody, right? Even a pacifistic Alkidike." She chuckled, trying to get the mood to lighten up a bit at her own expense.
