Aberdeen swam strongly and happily in the large lake. He had traveled from his home in the ocean, something he didn't usually do, and had been very grateful to come across this wide stretch of water. He splashed around in the deepest areas, ducking under every now and then and taking large, grateful gulps of water. This was the life, it was a perfect day and he had a new body of water to explore! The water here was slightly more murky than in the ocean, and the fish were different, but it was all so exciting! He wondered if he would see any land Soquili today!

The tower by the sea was already half a day behind him but already he felt an incessant tug, pulling him back the way he had come. He considered for a moment that it was the sea calling him, but a place nestled deep within his being told him it was not so. He had already delayed his search for the pearl of his clan, to go back and visit that strange and naïve mare would just put him further behind. With a grunt he violently shook his head, the coins attached to the cloth over his head making a delightful tinkling sound. He had a mission and to neglect that would be to abandon the only family he had ever known, to spit on his blood and turn his back on them.
He hadn’t realized how dry he had begun to feel until he noticed a lake straight ahead of him. Putting the thoughts of the pearl and of his Sea Princess behind him he waded in up to his knees. Arching his neck he touched his lips to the cool, fresh water and took a hearty drink. The momentary silence was interrupted as a splash out in the middle of the lake had his head shooting up. There was a swimmer out there; a happy smile parted his maw. “Hellooooo there!” He called out amiably.

It wasn't often that Linaiha felt the need to wander too far from the area she called home, especially not since the experience with the skinwalker. And even less did she travel near bodies of water. In this she was like her father. She preferred to keep her wings dry, thank you very much. It took too long for them to be flight ready if they got wet. But today, perhaps, she could make an exception. It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and the lake wasn't really all that far. It might be a good day to take advantage of it, and get a respite from the heat.

This was it, Legends first real adventure out on his own. His father had wanted him to stay with the family, but he was too much like his mother. He longed for the freedom and danger that she and experienced. Maybe even save a princess or two. Legend wanted to prove himself. It was the perfect day, unlike the past few. Legend had been doing well taking care of himself out in the wilderness. The only complaints he had at the moment were boredom and thirst. Thirst was something he could control, so he sought out water. Not long into the day he caught sight of a large lake in the distance, and possibly something moving on its shore. He continued on towards the lake, taking caution not to be seen by anyone.

Aberdeen squirted water out of his mouth as if he were a water fountain, his strong tail keeping him afloat as it swished underneath the water. But among his fun and splashing he heard a voice. Spluttering slightly in surprise and turning, he saw another stallion. This one had fins as well, but they were spikier and this stallion was very colorful. Aberdeen swam closer, finally standing in the shallows of the lake a short distance from the other. "The water is fine, you must be dry and eager to dip in. But I hope that you won't make a meal out of me," he said hesitantly but in a friendly tone all the same.
Looking a short distance from the stallion, he noticed a lovely mare. "Oh, you've brought a friend,' he said, but after saying it he felt that the two weren't together. She didn't have fins like they did, but she had lovely wings instead. "Hello, ma'am," Aberdeen called out to the mare with a friendly smile. He caught the scent of someone else in the distance, but he couldn't see anyone else nearby.

Linaiha was startled by the voices. She had come here not expecting to see anyone and here there were at least two others. She began to wonder if perhaps she were intruding on a planned gathering of sorts, which would be very awkward, as she hadn't been invited.
And to add to her discomfort, it seemed everyone gathering here was male… oh dear. She seriously considered leaving, for a brief moment. This could get really bad for her really quick. She would turn into a blushing stammering mess. Not to mention the embarrassment… a fleeting thought crossed her mind about whether or not it would be possible to die of mortification, but she really didn't want to be the one to prove or disprove it.
One of the males in the water called out a greeting, and she was brought up to be polite, so she couldn't just leave without at least acknowledging it. 'H-hello there,' she called out timidly, not wanting to get too close to the water. There were enough horror stories she had heard of those that lived within the waters depths that she remained rightfully cautious.
She started to turn around to leave, before even more showed up when she felt the presence of another behind her. She started trembling. Caught between a rock and a hard place in her mind. It brought back the memory and instincts she had felt in danger, and it never even came to her to consider flying away or shifting to hide. All she knew was there was possible danger before her, and an even closer one behind. And this time, she would not back down. If it came to a fight, she would defend herself, and not back down.

Amitola watched the huge body above her with wide eyes. Sure, she had been raised to expect and prepare for the worst, but this was just odd. Something like a regular with a mer tail was splashing around in the lake. In her lake. Looking around to make sure no one was watching, she swam uneasily over to it. Afraid of being trampled, however, she shrunk back a little, eyeing the enormous hooves anxiously. One of those could squish her in a heartbeat.
Swimming about six feet away from him, Ami stopped, only eye-level above the surface. As long as he didn't see her and wasn't a meat eater, she told herself not to worry too much. He looked like a big aquatic, just strange.
George watched Ami from the rock he was lounging on, which stuck conveniently out of the lakebed like a little bench to rest his tired tail on. Though the lake had no major currents, the journey north with Ilyrana had been rather tiring - swimming upstream as a seathi was no easy feat. Amused at her semi-fearful, semi-apprehensive reaction to the hooves and tail swirling near the surface, George smirked. So she hadn't had anyone set foot in her part of the lake before? Oh, he was going to drive her nuts. Maybe she'd even go batty enough to let him have her shinies...
Pushing off from his perch with his tiny set of hooves, George pumped himself toward the sunlight streaking above, surfacing on the opposite side of the blue-green kelpi. "Ello there," he said, sizing up the boy before him. Of course, everything was huge to George, but this one seemed different. It was probably the scales - he'd never seen a kelpi with scales before. "What's it like to be a giant?" he asked. It was the first thing he'd always asked any breed bigger than a seathi; almost routine now, the answers were always funny to the little troublemaker.
