Two days before it was time to leave, Tuck was given a verbal reminder to pack. He could pack whatever he wanted to wear, she didn't really care what it was as long as he wasn't naked in public. The next morning he would find a sticky note stuck to his forehead. The next day--er...morning..she woke Tuck up at three thirty in the morning. Yes. She woke up on her own before the sun was up. Having her alarm set and going to bed early so she could get a decent amount of sleep had helped. For now she just rolled over in Tuck's arms and playfully tapped his nose, cuddling up close against her boyfriend so she could kiss his chin. "Tuuuuuck~. Wake uuuuup, waaaake up. Wake uuuup," she sang in a soft whisper, tracing his bottom lip with her finger. "Wakey wakey, Tuck. I'll go by myself if you don't wake uuuuup~."

Heidi's excitement had been pretty ******** infectious. He'd packed after her reminder. Basketball shorts, tees, a few tanks. Socks, shoes. On his last day of leave he'd actually gotten a nice pair of black slacks and a deep green dress shirt along with some fancy shoes that hurt his feet.
Whatever, it'd be worth it.
The next morning he'd had a pink sticky note stuck on his head. After a low chuckle, he'd tucked it away and gone about his business.
The morning they were slated to depart Tuck was awakened by a Heidi. Without opening his eyes, he grinned.
"I'm 'wake. You feel nice."
He tightened his arm around her.
"When we leavin'?"

"Good," Heidi giggled and leaned in to kiss his lips just before he tightened his arms around her and basically held her in place. She freed her arms to hug Tuck, rubbing her nose against his in a sweet Eskimo kiss before she kissed him again. "After we're ready. I need to shower and stuff, but after that I'm good to go."
She hummed cheerfully and closed her eyes, her forehead against Tuck's. "You need to let me go first~."

Tuck groaned but was silenced by Heidi's kiss, grumbling softly at her answer. No time for a little morning shenanigans, his heart was broken. Well, not really. Okay, kind of broken. He released his grip on Heidi before letting out a low, melancholy sigh.
So melancholy.
"I guess, if I gotta. Suppose I should shower an' shave."
He squinted at her.
"Get outta bed before I change my mind."

Heidi couldn't help but giggle at Tuck's complaints about letting her go, giving him one more kiss before she rolled out of bed. She straightened out her stolen shirt and yawned, stretching her arms high above her head before she turned back to Tuck with a grin. "What would've happened if I hadn't changed my mind?"
She walked away before he could try and show her, grabbing a pair of pajama pants to quickly pull on before she gathered up her towel and other toiletries. Heidi also grabbed what she was wearing for the day. "I'll see you in a bit!" She hurried out after that. Heidi's excitement over their trip and Tuck's 'threat' that could probably delay them a good while had her hurrying down the hall and to the showers.

It was a good thing that Heidi slipped away when she did, because Tuck was half-crawling out of the bed so that he could show Heidi just what would have happened if she'd changed her mind.
Little brat. He chuckled as she left before sliding out of bed completely so that he could gather his own toiletries. "I'll be here," Tuck grinned after her.
A quick shower and shave later he was jogging back to their room, towel over his shoulder and a pair of loose sweatpants hanging low on his hips. His toothbrush, shaving supplies and deodorant were crammed into his luggage, and then he started getting dressed while he waited for Heidi.

Heidi took longer to return than Tuck did, but when she did she was freshly showered, dressed, and in the process of finishing with her hair. She stopped grinned at Tuck when she returned, blowing him a kiss before putting everything in her overnight bag. "It's gonna be like..eleven over there, s'why I'm not complaining right now," Heidi explained cheerfully, playfully bumping her hip against Tuck's and picking up her bag. "I've already given the techs the coordinates to open a portal up near the hotel so we can drop our stuff off in our room, and then there's this really cool zoo in Valencia where you can actually go up and interact with some of the animals, and it's like impossible to see the walls so it's like holy crap there's a lion~." She grinned. "I was worried you'd think the zoo was too, I dunno, childish?" But Heidi really liked the zoo.
She moved to the door and started impatiently bouncing on her toes, whining like a small child. "Are you readyyyyy? Come on, come ooooon~!"

By the time Heidi arrived, Tuck was clad in well-worn jeans and an almost threadbare gray shirt. It was comfortable, which was important. He grinned at his girlfriend's excitement.
"I like zoos," he chuckled, "been a while since I visited one, but what the hell. So long as neither one of us get eaten, don't give a damn." She looked so excited. It made him excited, too.
"I'm ready, woman, I'm ready," Tuck slipped his duffle over his shoulder and followed after her. He stole a quick kiss before ushering her out of the room. "Lets go. I'm ready to see some goddamn sunshine."

The kiss was happily returned and Heidi finally stopped bouncing. She reached for his hand at first, giving it a squeeze and swinging their hands between them until he mentioned sunshine. Oh right. They were going to be out in actual sun. Spain Sun was probably a lot more intense than Rhode Island Sun. Right. Yes. This was important. She dug around in her bag for her sunscreen while they walked, finally letting go of Tuck's hand to apply the lotion to her face and the exposed part of her arms. "I think we're a little more durable than the average person now," Heidi said with a grin, capping the bottle and putting it away just as they reached the portal. It was ready, and Heidi gestured to the portal. "Age before beauty~."Once on the other side the couple would exit out of the portal in an alley between two buildings across from a very, very tall hotel. "The Sorolla Palace, I figured if we're only staying a night let's stay somewhere nice! Except for some clothes I bought last month I haven't spent any of my money on anything since recruitment soooo..I have some cash burning in my pocket and it hurts." She squeezed Tuck's hand and dragged him out of the alley with a grin. To be honest the most difficult part of finding places for them to stay and things to do had been all the websites were in Spanish. Thank you, translators. They crossed and street and entered the hotel. The lobby was surrounded by a large window that opened the area up to all the light from outside, making it a warm and inviting space. The floor and walls were white and other pastel colors, the furniture black and red. Heidi approached the front desk to check in, sighing with relief when she got a host who spoke English. Thank you, thank you, thank you. When she received the keys she turned to Tuck with a grin, holding out the small envelope that held his key card. "For you, sir~."

Oh, she was just full of ******** sass. He loved it.
Tuck slipped through the portal and let out a low whistle as he caught sight of the hotel. He'd never seen a sight like it - sure as hell had never stayed in a place as nice as this one. "Niiiiiiice. You gonna spoil me."
It was sunny and warm, and as they made their way to the hotel, Tuck turned his face skyward so that he could enjoy the sunlight.
He stood by patiently as Heidi checked them in, leaning against the counter as he glanced around the foyer. When she handed him his keycard, he immediately pocketed it.
Tuck reached out to take her hand.
"We gonna drop off our bags?"

"I am going to spoil you. This is my present. And my thank you. For being so freakin' amazing and perfect," Heidi told Tuck with a fond smile, truly looking up at him as if he was the meaning of life. The most amazing person in the world. Because to her he was. She couldn't help but smile more and more just looking at him. She wanted to give him everything. His hand touched hers and she blushed. It forced her to return to reality. "Yeah, I don't need to carry my clothes around all day~. Can you carry my wallet?" It and the bottle of sunscreen were all she'd need, really. She squeezed Tuck's hand as she led him to the elevator, checking the room number before she selected a floor and leaned back against Tuck with her back to his front. She closed her eyes and tipped her head back. This was a nice few moments of peace and quiet before they went to a busy zoo. Finally they reached the floor their room was on and Heidi led Tuck down the hall, checking the numbers on each room until she found theirs. She stopped, grinning from ear to ear. Okay, she was a little too excited about this. Heidi cleared her throat, blushing and refusing to look at Tuck as she unlocked the door and opened it. Too excited. This wasn't any different from all the time she'd been spending sleeping with Tuck in his room. Not any different. So then why was her heart racing as she stepped into the spacious hotel room? The rooms had been what had won her over for this hotel. They were nice without being gaudy and ostentatious, and even the suite she had been given wasn't over-the-top. "What do you think?" Heidi asked as she set her bag down in one of the chairs. She was just going to ignore how hot her face felt and the pounding of her heart in her chest.

"You're amazing an' perfect," Tuck grinned at Heidi, a little stricken by the expression on her face. It was beautiful, that expression, and he wasn't sure what it meant but it made Tuck feel like he was the only man on the planet. There were words there on the tip of his tongue, three little words - but he balked, and just smiled and nodded at her question.
"I can put it in my pocket," his voice cracked a little, and Tuck cleared his throat as they moved out of the elevator and into the hallway. Her blush and the clearing of her throat had him glancing at her curiously, but Tuck didn't press.
It did leave him wildly curious.
"Damn, this place is amazing," he peered around the room, his eyes lingering just slightly on the bed. Tuck turned to face Heidi again, and at that moment he couldn't help but ask, "You okay, sweetheart?"

She felt a swell of pride when Tuck called the place amazing. She'd done well! Yay! But her eyes widened like an embarrassed deer in headlights when asked if she was okay. "I'm fine," she answered quickly. No. Seriously. She was perfectly fine right now. She was happy.
A little too happy.
Heidi's smile was actually somewhat she as she approached Tuck and reached for both of his hands, rocking back and forth from heel to toe and using his hands to keep her steady. "Does your amazing and perfect girlfriend get a kiss before we go to the zoo?"

Tuck tossed his duffle onto the floor just before Heidi approached, and when she took his hands, Tuck gave a squeeze as he grinned down at her. She didn't look fine, but she looked happy, and that's was what mattered to him.
"Depends on what kinna kiss you want," he chuckled softly as he leaned down to take her mouth with his in a tender kiss. "Thank you for this, Heidi. Nobody's never done nothing for me like this before."

Heidi gave Tuck a look of feigned scandal when he suggested some kind of kiss other than an innocent one. But she happily returned the kiss, placing a hand on his chest right over his heart. When the kiss ended she still looked up at him with a dreamy smile. This was her man, all hers. "You've done so much for me~. This is the least I can do for you," Heidi told him quietly, reaching up to pull him in for one more kiss. Sweet and gentle, her usual kind of kiss for him. When she ended the kiss she lingered near Tuck's lips, just barely touching them. Say it, whispered that voice in her head. Speak the words, perhaps he wants to hear them as well. The voice was encouraging which actually surprised Heidi. Her breath hitched a moment and she opened her mouth to speak. And then she was giggling involuntarily. A nervous reaction. Heidi relaxed on her feet and stepped back to grab her room key card and dig around in her bag for her wallet. Once she found it she put the card in one of the pockets. She offered the wallet to Tuck. "Let's head out before it gets too late, we haven't even eaten breakfast yet."
