Rose was yearin' for some learnin' today. He had his bag packed up with everything he needed for his trip; including but not limited to his book of plants that he's been working on sense he was able to write and draw, pens, pencils, samples of various plants to look up and snacks. Snacks were very important, you couldn't have a growling tummy in the library. With a triumphant huff, he made his way to the center of learning in Phonyville. His hair was getting really long now, with a slight curl to it like his mother's would be if she didn't keep it up all the time. The little pink colt, would often be mistaken for a girl. He was use to it by now, but he hoped when he grew Old Enough ... that it would be a little bit more obvious that he was a boy. Maybe if he had a deep voice or a strong draft body. He laughed it off knowing cutting his hair would be a simple solution, but that was a definite no. He stepped into the library, finding a small table to spread his stuff out on to and begin researching.

Sistrum had always found the library to be a place of peace and quiet when he needed it. The light smell of dust and lemon cleaner had grown to be a comfort to him as he was engrossed within the pages of many a book over time. He was accustomed to the constant in-and-out and light chatter of those who sought out the knowledge of his sanctuary, and all but drowned them out as second nature. He was hunched over a rather massive novel with matching tiers of them on each side of him, taking up a trivial matter of trying to disprove some of the written theories with a map and compass, when a flash of light pink caught his attention. He blinked the weariness from his eyes, something brought on from countless hours of staring at word upon word, and averted his gaze for the first time today. Well, that was something. He raised a brow, watching the little one set up what looked to be quite the research arrangement. Curiosity won over his own doings and he watched quietly, the sight of a younger generation taking up a similar hobby heart-warming.

Rosewrite had a place for everything, as he sat up in the library. His pencils here, containers there, snack secertly hidden in his bag still. Finally he flipped open his book to the last unfished document of his growing encycopedia. Now all he needed was the reading material. His tail gave a little flick as he hurriedly went to go find his book. This was the last book that he had to finish before reading everything front to back that this library had on plants. He didn't really even pay attention to any other phonies right now. It was buisness time. Upon finding his section he scanned through the book. Everything in alphabetical order to the the T. Yet, the last book he needed was on the top shelf. His brow furrowed, thinking of what to do. There were no ladders around, a stepping stool definitly wasn't cutting it, and he'd hate to bother anyone at this point. "Hmm..."

He was amused, watching the pink foal scurry to get things in their proper place, so it was only natural that Sistrum take it upon himself to follow him to the shelves, considering this 'research' rather than assuring himself that he was the most studious of Phonies. What he came across instead was a furrowed brow and a gaze focused on the top shelf, and he couldn't hide the amused glint in his eyes. He may not be the most attentive when it came to the younger ones, but he could easily put two and two together in this situation. "You seem to be in need of assistance... am I correct?"

"Umm... yeah probably." His eyes seperated from the book on the top shelf and over to whoever was asking. It was a flutter, and one that reminded him of Tiger Blam. This was the first adult sized flutter that he'd ever seen. His body was so thin and tiny. It was very interesting to see and he would eventually love to ask him some question, but for now they needed to get that book. His hoof pointed up the the top shelf. "It's called Acanthus and More." His brow was still a bit furrowed concered about getting this book. Could flutters even fly up that high? Would he be able to carry such a big book?

He gave a reassuring smile, "I'll only be a moment." Of course, this had been after his initial reaction of eyeing up the book itself. He could easily fetch it, but the size... no, no. He shook his head and reassured himself that he could manage it. It was a mere book, after all. Flitting up to the top shelf, the wriggled the book from the tight squeeze with a small grunt on his part, his joy at nabbing it turning into a quick frown as he nearly fell under the weight. It was one thing to have your hooves planted firmly on the floor, but in the air... Sistrum only managed to carry it properly after plummeting towards the floor, catching himself an inch or so from pain and landing with a loud 'OOF'. He blinked a few times, looking all the more comical with a book as a makeshift hat as well as a few others that had escaped the shelves loitering the floor. Had he been a bashful phony, he surely would've used the book to hide his face. Instead, he glanced at Rosewrite. "Well... I've gotten the book in my own way."

The little pink colt gave a small nod, appreciating the flutter’s help. Rose watched as he was able to fly up and get the book with ease… but that was the only easy part. His eyes widened as the flutter fell from the weight of the book. “Oh, no!” He may of said a bit too loud for the on duty librarian’s taste. Luckily, he caught himself at the last minute. Rose gave a sigh of relief and some room before taking the book of the flutter’s hoof. “You sure did." He said giving a little smile, makinf sure it was the right book after all. “Thank you for getting this for me. My name is Rosewrite.” Offering his hoof for a shake as his introduced himself.

The flutter was so intent in his train of thought, his introduction was brief, "Sistrum. I couldn't help but notice the extensive amount of material you brought in with you, if you'll pardon my intrusion on your library escapade. So tell me, what are you researching so intently, if I may ask so boldly?" He had quickly taken up the foal's offer of a handshake, but he was so busy blathering he hadn't realized the shake had been continuous for quite some time, and he was quick to release Rosewrite from his death aching limb and focus on returning the smaller, dusty books to their proper places on the shelves, zipping rather fast-paced so he could properly listen to what the other had to say, if anything at all. Sistrum was as flighty as his breed, so he could only imagine he was moving around a little too much for the foal to be sure he was paying attention. But he most definitely was.

“Oh well, yes. I’m here to finish reading up what the library has on plants. This is the last one I need to record in my own book. I’ve recently figured out it’s what I love doing, so I’m putting all my energy in it as of late to learn… well everything!” He said with a smile and a little tail flick. He watched the flutter zooming back and forth as he put away a few of the little books. It was hard to keep up, but he continued to speak hoping that he still had his attention. “If you’d like to take a look at my studies I’d be happy to share. Are you studying in the library today, as well?” So someone else here studying? Imagine that. None the less, Rosewrite was still interested in what the flutter was studying as well. ChezaRain im on my phone so sorry if its a little rough/no color. xD

The smile on Sistrum's mouth seemed to spread with admiration as the colt spoke. When the question of viewing his studies arose, he quickly nodded his head, "It would be my pleasure to share my studies with you as well... though I may not share the same interests, plant-life does take up a small portion of my research... on Ancient Egyptian culture. Though most of my focus is attempting to discover more about the musical instruments of that time." He came to a stop as he spoke the last phrase, assuring that the books were in proper order with a final glance over before looking back in the direction they had come longingly, though he wouldn't outwardly mention the fact he missed his books already.

"I wouldn't mind seeing other's research even if it wasn't the same topic as my own.~" He stated, as it was just interesting in general to see how other people studied, especially one who was old enough. (Well maybe not everyone would agree to that...) Rose figured he could probably take a few pro tips from someone who was a little older than him. "Ancient Egypt? Wow, that's pretty amazing too." He nodded as they made their way back to the little study tables. Rosewrite placed his book down, before picking up his encyclopedia and then turning around to find the gentleman again. “Is this your table here?" He said peeking up on to the next table up and looking around.

He followed the colt, settling himself comfortably at Rosewrite's table and nodding to where his gaze had fallen, "It is indeed...." On a roll, he quickly scooped up one of the larger volumes, his gaze scanning the writing as a hoof came to rest against his mouth; a habit of his, he supposed, "What drew you into the study of plant-life, if I may ask? Though I suppose, being surrounded by it, you would be drawn to know more of it." His tone was hushed, his eyes glued to the information on the page in front of him and a small smirk showing up here or there when he crossed something that he'd already known. The library had some work to do to keep up with his rate of study.

They pretty much swapped books, scanning over the materiel in a similar fashion. A passerby might off thought they were related if it wasn't for their looks, but then again they were knowledge hoarders just the same. "I don't know what brought me to plants. I've just always found them beautiful and interesting... even the not so pretty ones." He gave a small laught turning back to Sistrum after looking through the first part of his books. "Hmm, so what made you want to study Ancient Egypt and their musical instruments?" It seemed like such a weird question. ChezaRain I think we can probably end this soon... Probably in the next one or two posts.~

"Hmm... I suppose curiosity of the unknown and wanting to be among the first to truly understand it." Closing the book and setting it back on Rosewrite's table, he glanced nervously at his own, as if he expected the knowledge he had to leak from his brain with this new plant information. "I should return to my own studies and leave you to yours. At this rate we may never leave the library!" He chuckled at himself, but he was longing for his knowledge.

"Thank you so much for getting that book for me Sistrum. With how much we appreciate a good book, I'm sure we will be running into each other again sometime!" He smiled and then turned to his book. Finally, the last book, and he had all the time in the world. It was a good thing the library was open so late because Rose didn't put that book down until he was finished. It was dark out now and his mothers were probably starting to get worried about him. While packing up his stuff, he gave a little yawn and then turned to see Sistrum still there lost in a book as well. Rose knew that his nights were going to be spent studying away just like him. He gave a smile and then quietly walked by to make his way home. "Thanks Sistrum.~" Rosewrite whispered, as to not disrupt his friend's studying. -Fin- ChezaRain Annnd that's a wrap. Thank you Chhhhhezz.
