~Vivian Martinez~

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was late in the evening when Vivian finally arrived back to her high rise apartment. She had spent the whole day running errands and working at the Phil's Grill where she sang and waited tables. By some stroke of luck a friend filled in for her tonight so she could get some rest for once. Vivi carried her grocery bags to the kitchen and set them down with a huff. It wasn't that much or that heavy but her muscles were just that sore. She put away everything in the bags in their proper places except for one thing, a medium sized take out box from her favorite Chinese place. She promptly placed it in the microwave and grabbed a pair of chopsticks and an ice cold Dr. Pepper from the fridge.

The young singer leaned against her granite kitchen counter and looked around at what her late father had gotten her for her eighteenth birthday as a way of saying "get the **** out of my house you freeloader". It didn't bother her at all. She loved her condo. With its smooth stone floor, it's creamy white walls that accented the floor perfectly, not to mention the master bathroom that had the amazing marble bathroom with a bathtub that could fit four and a shower stall with three different shower heads. She even decked out the living space herself with modernistic, chic furniture that also showed her music loving side. She truly made the place hers. All of that is great, but what Vivian really loves about her loft was not only was it permanently hers but the glass wall that looked out to the city. It was an amazing view she could never get enough of. Her dad really went all out to get her out of his house. In her opinion he didn't have to. She was just gonna run away anyway and he wasted his money buying her this place. She was ever thankful for his stupidity.

Her thoughts were brought back by the sound of the microwave going off. She retrieved her food and inhaled deeply, savoring the smell. Vivi had ordered her favorite, chicken lo mein. She knew it was a greasy, mess bound to give her a blood clot but she didn't care. She exercised regularly and normally ate a balanced diet but tonight she just wanted to relax with her oily box of food. She opened the container before taking a seat on her couch and digging in. She turned on the TV to watch maybe a movie or two before heading to bed.

Cattleya "C A T" Soto

Ⓣhe soft natural sun light soon gave way to thriving night lights of the city when Cattleya finally made her way back to the small apartment she called home, sporting freshly bloodied clothes, a busted lip and bruised body from a few hours beforehand. A killers work is never done nor is it ever easy but then again that's one of the many reason's Cattleya enjoyed doing her job; she didn't mind getting her hands dirty. Locking the door behind her before slowly making her way to the bed room, she began to discard articles of stained and ripped clothing along the way until there was nothing to shield her bare anatomy from sight without a bat of an eyelash. It was her apartment after all, there was really no need to be modest. Once in the bathroom, Cattleya inspected her features in the mirror and grimaced slightly; what a mess.

"Christ....this is what I get for getting too ahead of myself..." she muttered to herself softly, using the back of her hand to wipe the blood from her mouth.

If she wanted to she could have waited a bit longer and waited ti strike when the guy was at home with his spoiled wife and kids, ghost him right off the bat and make it look like an everyday home invasion gone bad, but where was the fun in that? Cattleya enjoyed playing with her targets just as much as she enjoyed ghosting them, more at time when they were particularly pathetic to watch or still had a bit of fight left in them. However, this time had been different, this time he had friends. A routine hit job turned into a "tie Cat to a chair and have a couple of your goons smack her around a little" kinda job which took her longer then usual to get done but in the end she pulled through in one piece which was more then she could say for her target and his colleagues whom weren't so lucky. The only part of him which left that warehouse was his bloody index finger, on which his huge golden ring sat pertinently around the fatter part of his finger which now laid on the floor with her discarded clothes. This served as proof of a job well executed, which meant meant Cattleya would be paid her disclosed sum of money as promised and go on with her life as planned; one day at a time.

After a long, hot, shower, and a date with the her first aid kit, Cattleya sauntered back out of the bathroom in a loose fitting shirt and panties when she caught a glimpse of her vibrating cell phone laying in on her bedroom rug. 'What now?' She pondered silently. Walking over to her discarded phone, Cattleya picked it up and carefully read though the new message she had received while indisposed; a new target had been assigned.

"Who the hell is Vivian Martinez?"

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.It was still a bit dark outside when Vivian rose from her plush mattress. The first rays of sun were just beginning to peak over the horizon, giving the sky a soft blue hue and the birds happily chirped their songs. Vivi however wasn't quiet as chipper as the birds. She, with head tilted down slightly, trudged her was to her master bathroom in just a white tank top and black boy shorts. Shivering, her feet touched the cool tile floor and began her morning routine of showering, brushing her teeth and styling her hair into its classic ponytail. Vivian left the bathroom wrapped in nothing but a towel and proceeded to finish getting ready, "What time is it?" She gazed at her clock nonchalantly while pulling on her outfit of the day. She wore a pair of mid thigh length denim shorts with an off white t-shirt with a green crown on it. She had personally made it an off the shoulder top by cutting and ripping the neck line. Slipping on a pair of strap up, open toed green heels she grabbed her guitar and keys and dashed out the door. Hopping into her Volkswagen convertible she took off to work, radio blasting the entire way.

Vivian pulled into the mostly empty employee parking lot. The only cars there was hers and two other and she knew the owners of them well. Storming through the back door she yelled she greeted her friends as soon as she saw them, "Hey Phillip, Good morning Ravyn" she gave the latter a hug and in return received a large cup of iced coffee and had a seat at the table they kept in the back and ate the breakfast Ravyn always made for her. "Ray will you marry me?" she asked as the flavors of the omelet made her taste buds explode. The blonde just laughed and continued wiping down the counter to the bar and Phil tidied up the kitchen. "Hey Viv, don't forget what I told you abou-" "Yeah, yeah, yeah, no slapping if the customers get rowdy. Let security handle it. I got it Phil" she laughed as she remembered the incident that happened two days ago. "It wasn't funny that was a lawsuit waiting to happen! That guy was a district attorney!" Phil fussed, if he didn't keep the order no one would. "Fine I'll be more careful or something." The only reply she received was a dejected sigh.

After the Latin American downed her entire meal and washed the dishes she made her way to the small stage on one side of the restaurant and began to set up her instrument. She tuned every string and wiped off any dust or smudge that may be on it. Her guitar was her baby. She loved it more than anyone and anything. The three waited patiently for the rest of the staff and band to trickle in before they switched the closed sign on the front door to open.

Ⓦith watchful eyes and a cup of hot coffee in her hand, Cattleya sat in her parked car adjacent to the somewhat vacant parking lot, surveyed Vivian as she disappeared into the back of the restaurant. Reaching over to the small file with Vivian's information in it, Cattleya skimmed through various pictures and paper work of the poor girl before deciding when and were she would make her move; she just couldn't help but wonder what on earth this, seemingly normal, girl was doing on her marks list. The victims who usually made it on her list were either criminals or big business competition. Funny really how those two factors seemed to go hand in hand most of the time. This girl Vivian, however, didn't look to be the big business criminal type but then again Cattleya didn't look like the killer type either. What had Vivian done to deserve to die? What act of sin had she committed to have sealed her fate? Despite all her pondering and silent contemplation, for whatever reason, Cattleya had a job to do with a hefty payment to collect once she was finished.

"Sorry Vivian; business is business." She muttered under her breath, as she tossed the file back onto the passenger seat casually.

It wasn't a secret Cattleya valued money more then human life, in fact, anyone who knew her would say that losing money would hurt her more then taking a bullet. That's what growing up poor and jaded does to a person, it screws up their priorities and makes them dangerous. Despite popular belief, Cattleya hadn't always been this way. There was a time when she was a bright eyed kid just looking for something to hold onto, something that couldn't be taken from her by sickness like her mother or could up and walk away like her dead beat father; something really worth while. Lucky for her she grew out of that pipe dream pretty damn quickly. Now she was wide awake and slightly agitated. At what she didn't know really. Maybe it was at the cards life dealt her or the people who contently fades in and out of her life or maybe she was really agitated with herself for the choices she had made. Either way, Cattleya was who she was and there wasn't really much of a sign she'd be changing anytime soon.

After slowly adjusting her sunglasses on her face, Cattleya got out of her car and pulled out the lonely cigarette she had tucked behind her ear; lighting it up with her trusty lighter before taking in a deep drag. Sweet nicotine smoke flooded her lungs and she held it there for a moment, savoring the familiar taste in her mouth, before exhaling vapid smoke out into the morning air. Now it was time to think up a game plan.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. It had been hours since Vivi had walked into work that morning and the day had been uneventful. There was the normal amount of people as usual and no one caused a big fuss. Vivian would stand on stage and play her guitar like always, occasionally singing back up when she was needed. She didn't mind not being the center of attention she just enjoyed getting paid for something she enjoyed doing, playing music. It was five twenty-five and since Vivi gets off work at five thirty she began to pack up her guitar. They were about to become a night bar in a few more hours anyway and she rather not have to hit another guy for getting handsy.

Throwing her guitar case onto her back she walked to the back and stopped near the entrance way of the kitchen. "Hey Phil, I'm out. Andy should be here to take over any minute." she called out to the head chef. "Alright. Hey, wait I got you something. I heard that you're really into chicken dishes so I whipped you up something," he said with a slight blush to his cheeks and handed her a to-go bag with a white box inside. It wasn't a secret to anyone that Phil had a bit of a crush on the Latina but he just wasn't her type. Vivian's type was more of the female persuasion but Phil wouldn't give up. "Thanks. I'll eat it as soon as I get home," and with that she took her leave and headed towards the parking lot.

As she unlocks her car and places her things in the back Vivian can't help but feel like she was being watched, and it made the hair on the back of her neck stand up. She nervously looked around before climbing into her car and driving home. The sun would be down soon and she'd rather not be caught alone at night anywhere. She finally makes it inside and begins to make sure every entry point of her house is locked and secure. Even on the drive home she couldn't shake the awful feeling of eyes on her. Sighing as she finally felt safe in her home, Vivi put the chicken Phil had made her into the microwave and headed upstairs to take another shower. The girl had stripped away all her clothes, which really wasn't much anyway, and was stepping into the nice, steamy shower. The hot water hitting her face as she relaxed completely.

Cattleya "C A T" Soto

User Image
Ⓐfter easily picking the lock of the front door, Cattleya snuck into the home of unsuspecting Vivian with ease, stopping for moment or two to take the time to admire the view of her surroundings as she dropped her bag of “goodies” on the floor with a soft thud. The sound of the shower running broke through the stillness that lingered in the air and bounced off the cream colored walls and glass windows.

“For a waitress, this Vivian chick is certainly not living like one,” She muttered softly to herself as she ran her black, gloved, finger tips across the smooth glass wall out looking the twinkling city night lights.

Although the condo was immaculate, If she had it her way, Cattleya would buy herself a grand little house on some deserted sandy beach far away from the city and it’s constant noise and settle down for the remainder of her days. The idea of kicking back, sipping mai tais with a cute little island girl on her lap sounded like a little slice of heaven in her book. However, Cattleya knew that in order to get what she wanted she would have to slit a lot more throats and make a lot more money. Realistically, she knew the only way out of this job was in a casket, but it was nice to think back on the sandy beach and Island girl all the same. There was a time to be realistic and a time to hold on to little fantasies for as long as possible; sometimes that’s what really all that kept Cat going.

Snapping out of her little day dream, Cattleya quickly began setting the stage for what was about to transpire. The plan was simple enough; break in, make it look like a home invasion gone wrong, batter Vivian up a bit to make it look like a struggle before finishing her off, then snatching up a few valuables trinkets to legitimize the story before heading off on her marry way to collect her bounty. Just as she was getting ready to head up stairs, an unknown assailant snuck up from behind her and pulled a tight cord across her throat, attempting to strangle the life right out of her. Thrashing and kicking Cattleya struggled to get free but the assailant towered over and pulled back on the cord with such force she was having trouble keeping her feet on the ground. Thinking quickly, she swung her legs up and pushed herself off the nearest wall, thrusting her head back as hard as she could; crack right in the nose. Blood spurted out of the assailants’ nose and just as his grip loosened on the cord Cat elbowed him sharply in the ribs before breaking loose from him completely, gasping and choking for air. The assailant was hunched over, gripping his gushing nose tightly as he glared daggers up at her. His face, though slightly distorted, was very familiar. Although she had not had the pleasure of meeting him before this moment, Cattleya knew that this guy was killer like herself who worked exclusively for some cut throat group known to be quite the force to be reckoned with. What would they want with Vivian?
“You stupid b***h, you broke my nose!” He growled in anger and pain, blood dripping down his mouth and chin.

“I’m about to break much more then that, consider it payback for trying to choke me out.” She growled in anger as she rubbed her sore throat.

The man couldn’t help but smirk through the blood and the pain as he stared over at Cattleya with the wickedest of intentions; he obviously knew something she didn’t.

"You have no idea how in over your head you are girly," His devilish smirk grew wider with every word. "You're dead, you just don't know it yet."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. The water pouring down on her and relaxed her until Vivian felt like she could float. Her mind filled with only pleasant thoughts. She looked down at her body and thought about her form. She was in good shape; not so much that she was incredibly toned but she didn't have a whole lot of baby fat either. Her curves were full and her form was sleek. She sighed quietly, All this and I still can't get a girlfriend... I'm not ugly, right? I know I'm not supermodel gorgeous but I'm not hideous. Is it too much too ask for just a nice, strong girl who can take care of me and hold me when I'm sad and see through all my attitudes and.... *sighs* I suppose that is too much to ask for... As the last remains of shampoo slide out of her hair she turned off the water and eased out of the shower. The water dripped on the floor in its own, unknown rhythm before she dried herself off as best she could with her towel. Vivian was thoroughly enjoying the softness of it and the warmth she felt when she heard it. A kind of thumping sound coming from downstairs. It didn't sound like something falling; it sounded more like something coming into heavy contact with something else, Oh, s**t....

Still clad in just her towel she eased her way to her room and, as quietly as she could, closed her door and locked it. Vivi had never been so nervous in her life! The young Hispanic woman had never had problems with this before and had no idea how to deal; she did, however, know what she had to do. Vivi would defend her home. This was her sanctum of safety and she'll be damned if she let some ignorant felon take that away from her. After taking several breaths to calm herself, the woman began to think of a plan. It wasn't really a plan, more like decision of how to act. Slipping on her panties, a bra, some sweat pants and a hoodie she began to dig through her closet to look for a weapon. She felt around blindly towards the back until her coarse fingertips came into contact with the object she'd been searching for. Hand clasped around the cold neck she pulled out a metal bat she had since one of her coworker's kids had come over and offered it as a gift. The boy was eight and was excited to give it to her; who was she to turn him away even though it seemed very odd at the time. Now, Vivian was grateful for it.

Moving as quietly as she could, Vivian began her decent. She eased herself down the hall, her bare feet making virtually no sound. Her back pressed against the wall as she peaked down the stairs and saw a large man with his back to the staircase. It would be perfect if she hadn't seen another pair of feet from her vantage point. Two?! What am I going to do now?! As she stood she could hear the man talking to the other. So, they aren't partners?... That makes it a little easier. Vivian decided the best way to handle the situation would be to take them out one at a time, since they weren't on the same side they wouldn't be rushing to defend each other.

Vivian took a deep breath; she couldn't believe what she was about to do but there was no way she could walk down her stairs without being seen so this was the only option. With the bat in her left hand the woman used her right to vault over the side of the stair case landing a bit behind the large man. The drop made her feet and ankles ache a little from such a hard surface coming in contact with her flesh; her right ankle especially throbbing but she just shrugged it off. Just as he's about to turn around she grips the bat tightly in both hands and swings with all her might. Contact. The bat caught him on the side of his head and he dropped. Raising the bat once more she turns to the other person in the room who's still standing. Vivi was shocked at first when she saw that she was a woman. Not just any woman though. The person standing in front of her was gorgeous. Her features were strong but still curved with femininity and her face was that of a predator but was no less captivating and beautiful. But what really made Vivian hesitate were those eyes; eyes that felt like they saw through her, that there was no secret that they couldn't search in her and find. She felt bare under the gaze and it made her insides nervous and excited. Gulping, Vivian had to put on a brave face and gripped the bat tighter and addressed the goddess like woman in her living room, What the hell are you doing in my house!?"

Cattleya "C A T" Soto

efore Cattleya could get any answers from the man in black standing in front of her, he was quickly knocked out with a loud clang from the sound of a metallic baseball bat making contact with the side of his head, brandished by the very person she had come to get rid of in the first place. Vivian Martinez was a vision in sweats, her hands tightly clasping the metallic baseball bat as her light brown eyes locked on Cat who could do no more then stare back at her with curiosity and intrigue shown plainly in her dark amber eyes. In all her years she had never met a girl with the tenacity to take such a daring move, in fact, most of the girls whom Cat had the 'pleasure' of meeting would most likely either bust out in tears or scream bloody murder. Needless to say, it wasn't everyday she watched a girl like Vivian take out a guy with the a baseball bat, and as long as she didn't use it on Cat, it was quite entertaining.

Taking a moment or two, the female assassin too the time to allow her eyes to take in Vivian's entire form in all it's splendor. Despite the sweat pants and sweat shirt shielding most of her body from direct sight, it was easy to tell she was a slender girl who stood a few inches shorter then Cattleya herself with gentle curves that curved in all the right places. It was true Cat had scouted her out carefully studied her movements earlier that day but it wasn't till now, now that she was standing face to face with this girl, that she took the time to actually see her. All in all, this Vivian Martinez was quite lovely to say the least. Plus any girl who could jettison herself over stair railings and take out a guy twice her size with a metallic baseball bat was highly attractive in Cattleya's little black book.

With a slight smirk on her lips and her hand slowly moving up in a peaceful gesture, Cattleya slowly moved closer to Vivian, not wanting to give her an excuse to start swinging again.

"Woah there girly, just take it easy now. Look, we can stand here wasting time chit chatting or we can tie this guy up before he comes to. I'm sure you must be just as curious as I am about what the hell he's doing here and who sent him, right? After that I'll tell you what ever you want to know but as for now, you don't have to worry about me." She reasoned as calmly as possible as she waited for no reply before kneeling down to the brutish man sprawled out on the wooden floor; blood now dripping down his face rather then just from his nose. It was for the best to keep the poor girl in the dark for as long as possible, or at least until she could get the upper hand and regain control of the situation. Cat hadn't been hit by a bat before, but she could only imagine it wasn't a very pleasant experience judging by the looks of tall, dark and gruesome still sprawled out on the floor.

Placing her fingers against his neck Cat felt carefully for a pulse which, though faint, was clearly a sign that the blow to the head had not killed the man but simply knocked him out cold. Good, it would be very difficult to lug around two bodies to set the scene up just the way she needed to in order to still make her original plan work.

The woman's voice was smooth like a shot of brandy, attached was the promise of a lingering, burning sensation and a buzz of adrenaline. How were the woman's words this addicting? Vivian wanted to trust her, but how could she? As far as she knew the girl could be a wolf in sheep's clothing, Not that I'd mind being devoured by her... at this she closed her eyes and shook her head, Vivi, idiota loco, this woman is in your house por el amor de Dios. Just because you're a little deprived does not give you permission to have dirty thoughts of every woman you see.

Taking a deep, steadying breath she began to answer, "Fine, but I'm keeping my eye on you entender?" To emphasize her point she swung the bat a little in a threatening way. Something told her she really shouldn't let her guard down. The young woman went to take a step forward but as she stepped down on her right ankle, pain shot throughout the area, her heel and lower calf including. Holding in a scream of pain the Latina fell to her knee and gripped lightly at the swollen joint; the bat rolling a bit by her side. Madre de Dios it hurts! What am I gonna do now? I can't run as fast... Vivian knew that if this woman was malicious then she was in trouble. Sitting back she picked up the bat again to protect herself, If I'm going down then por Dios I'm going down swinging...
