 Temptation for once was not prowling around the area. He wasn't the best at dealing with the summer heat, so he usually could be found hiding in a shaded forest or by a cool stream. Even though the day was a beautiful one, he couldn't separate himself from the cool area he was in at the moment. And as much as he wanted to go search for babes, he was exhausted, and from humidity. How humiliating.
He took a huge gulp from the steam near by and instantly felt better. He would be great at hibernating all summer, and then coming out again in the fall. Although being away from others and having no contact would drive him crazy. He wasn't good at being on his own, either.
He stared at his reflection from the water and decided to make a bold move. He dipped his entire head in and instantly brought it out, soaking his hair and making everything a mess. But man, did that feel good. He should just try and do that every five minutes, and perhaps he could THEN survive summer.

The dark Kalona waded down the center of the stream, every now and then letting his wings fan out to catch water, and tip the up to cascade the coolness over his back. A little fanning after that did remarkable things to his overheated body.
As he rounded a turn in the stream, he stopped dead in his tracks as he came face to face with another Kalona. He hadn't even caught the other's scent, his guard had been down he'd almost walked right into him. Wary of this new face, he stood his ground, surveying all the traits on his sort of mental checklist. Wings, horns, tail. Overall dark disposition. He seemed to be soaking wet too, which almost brought up a smirk. Almost. "Afternoon."

Who would have thought he'd be staring at another creature, and let alone another Kalona of all things. Temptation also surveyed the situation and realized immediately the other creature was male. Well, this could be pretty violent or bloody boring from his past experiences.
But when the other Kalona mentioned Afternoon, Temptation was almost thrown for a shock. So this guy wasn't an a*****e? He only assumed that based on past experiences. He had obviously had great luck with ladies, whatever breed they happened to be, but even Kalona mares he could have conversations with.
Was this Kalona, dare he say it, normal? "Good Afternoon to you." he finally mentioned, while lifting his hair back to release some of the water out of his face. "You startled me there, but chose wisely to dive into this stream." Temptation was not at all a territorial creature... unless it came to mares. "I do not believe we have met before, I'm Temptation. What's your name?"
He didn't entirely trust the situation yet, but chose to remain rather chill considering he was face to face with a large Kalona counterpart.

Well this was incredibly strange. He'd only said something because surely both of them staring at each other wouldn't have done anything. No he'd never met this creature before. This Kalona before him was being.. civil. The snappy retort was trapped in his throat about him minding his own business.
"Kaitos." There that was civil right? He'd at least answered the question without a fight. Good progress. He actually looked down at the water he was standing in, as if for a moment he'd forgotten he was in the stream. "Yes.. As I'm sure you know it's hotter than hell so this seemed the smart thing to do." As if to emphasize his point, his wings dipped down to pour more water over his back.

Temptation wondered if he had caught the stallion in a new found situation himself. Kaitos seemed just as surprised with the run in as Temptation had been at first, but was still acting under control. So far they were both unharmed, and luckily surviving from the heat due to the streams comfort. Perhaps it was the heat and laziness that was keeping them at bay, but Temptation was not found of fighting with violence anyways. Fighting with wit and idiotic thoughts on the other hand, he could do all day.
"It is and was the smart thing to do." he finally commented, after dipping his hoof back into the water. "It looks like you came from the sky as well, that must have been brutal in the sun." Temptation imagined being even closer to the sun and almost felt nauseous. "I hope I'm not intruding on your territory or anything." He finally said calmly. He felt it best to be in tune with the situation, and he still felt as though he couldn't read the stallion's next move. Was he even safe right now? He was too hot to even be worried.

"It wasn't bad at first, but then it got unbearable after a while." He snapped his jaw shut, realizing he'd just responded so casually without thinking of what he'd say or even if he wanted to speak. Damn civility! What was happening to him? One of his species starts a conversation with him like it's no big deal and he forgets how he should be acting! ...But was it really such a big deal he act menacing and overall badass in front of this stallion? He himself seemed to be a formidable opponent, and he wasn't one to pick a fight with his own kind over nothing anyway. Now he was thinking too much.
"No I don't have any set territory. As if anyone could own a stream. Seems like public property to me, and I'd like to see someone stop me from using it." He grinned a big toothy grin.

Temptation hadn't noticed the internal struggles the stallion was going through. What he did notice after the stallion's other comment, was that Kaitos seemed to have a sense of humor, and that was interesting. "Agreed. And I would love to watch someone mess with you, you seem like one of those guys that could handle a lot." He kind of wished someone had appeared to cause some trouble, so he could stand back and watch the show.
He surveyed the other stallion for a moment. His dark coloring and interesting coat would prove very useful for hunts especially at night. It was sort of hilarious that he was completely opposite looking then Temptation. Temptation didn't have a ton of Soqs coming up to him due to his appearance, and the blood red markings everywhere. He was usually the one that had to reach out to others and bother them.
"Do you find a lot of idiotic creatures walk up to you as if your colorings make you safe? Just curious for my own tactics. You have a pretty nice setup if you ask me, like ideal for hunting." He would have liked to be able to blend in the with darkness. He could mess with soooo many Soqs, the possibilities were endless. "Just ranting over here." He finally added, while taking another sip of water.

Kaitos seemed to relax a bit more as conversation continued. This male didn't seem the least bit interested in picking a fight. Good, it was too hot. "Sorry I'm not here for your entertainment, pal. I'd toss whoever came my way in your direction, perhaps for my own amusement. You need to be able to hold your own, after all."
He dipped his head to take a few gulps of water before raising a brow at Temptation. He was ever the curious one it seemed. "No, sadly I haven't found anyone stupid enough to walk right up to me. It is useful in the dark, obviously. But I find hunting at night not to be much of a challenge. And I do like the thrill of the chase." He grinned.

Temptation chuckled at the other stallion's comment. Apparently he had the same idea going on here. "Yeah yeah, I can hold my own." He finally mentioned while winking at the other. It had been awhile since he got into something crazy... probably because it was summer and just too hot to be that awesome in a fight.
He could see the other stallion liking the thrill of a chase, naturally. Temptation wasn't too fond of chasing anything, and even when he was forced to chase mares it would get exhausting after awhile. He wasn't the biggest effort taker on that sort of activity. "That makes sense." he finally added, after getting lost in his own thoughts for a minute. "So do you belong in a herd or come from a certain family or anything? Just surprised I haven't seen you around before." If Temptation would have known there was a chill stallion like Kaitos around, it would have been nice to have a hunting/shenanigans partner ages ago.

Kaitos grinned at their.. would you call it playful banter? That was weird. "No I don't really 'belong' anywhere. I'm still probably considered new to the area, and I keep to myself mainly so that's probably why you haven't seen me. And I probably didn't want you to." Another smirk. "Honestly if I had been paying more attention I would have steered clear of you."
He honestly had hated running into other stallions, they were usually just as grumpy as he was or wanting to get into it over something stupid. Not to be underestimated because he was a vicious beast, but spilling precious pure blood was pointless. They needed that to keep the bloodlines going. Mares were easier to get along with, they were more coy than outright wanting to tear into him. Although he'd avoided mares as of late too, there weren't any around that actually captured his interest enough.
"I would ask the same of you but, even if you gave me a family or herd name I would have no idea who you were talking about so," he shrugged a bit.

Perhaps it was the similarity of the other Kalona that intrigued Temptation, but even he was surprised at the words that came out of his mouth next. "Well if you ever need an ally or a training partner, I'm around, since there are a lot of crazy and stupid creatures everywhere. You never know who may jump you. Its kind of exhausting lately." The land was getting crazy inhabited by all types of Soquili, it was a bit overwhelming for even Temptation to keep track of who would kill him and not.
Also, Temptation had never trusted another stallion besides his almost identical brother, so perhaps Kaitos could be another Kalona to know and have as an ally? "But likewise." he finally said with a big smirk towards the stallion's comment on running into him today. They seemed to be on the same wavelength completely. It was half scary and hilarious.
"Its cool, no herd for me either. I come from a crazy family but it is what it is." Truth be told he adored his parents, and as impressive as they were, they were just were insane and in their own ways. "You'd probably like my brother, he's a better fighter then me and pretty destructive, but a another good acquaintance to have in this land." Temptation had always wished he had the same skills as his brother, but his mother's abilities flocked to him in a different form of strength.
He was curious how strong Kaitos was. From looking at him, he could sense the intimidation factor in the air. "Have any interesting run ins lately or hunts?" It had been some time since Temptation had gotten himself into a gory mess, and he sort of missed the thrill. Whenever he visited his parents they always had way too much food thanks to his father, so he was always well fed.

Kaitos raised a brow as he considered the offer. An ally? He had never thought of ever seeking out an ally, mainly because he thought he did fine on his own. But if he was being honest, there were some things that would be easier with another there at his back. "Well now that you mention it.. I've had my eye on a herd of buffalo. In normal conditions I could take one down but the heat drains my energy a lot faster. I haven't had good buffalo meat in a long time, if you were interested I bet we could take one down." He grinned at just the thought of it. Buffalo put up a good fight, not like small dear or rodents, it was challenge and made the hunt all the more exciting.
He had to shake his head at the inquiry. "No, I haven't had anything good in what feels like forever. I've kind of just taken what I can get. Deer, fish, you know the less fun things to eat. Haven't really seen many of our kind either." He shrugged, maybe all of their kind were hibernating from the heat. He sure felt like doing the same most days.

Everything Kaitos was saying sounded exciting to Temptation. He had never had buffalo and imagined that meat being fantastic. He also had never thought he'd be sitting here making.. dare he think it.. a friend? He was enjoying himself more then he thought he would. Perhaps it was ok to have something in common with another. It was rare when that happened, but their conversations were making it seem worth it.
"That sounds awesome. I am for sure interested." But could they really do it? He supposed if there were bruises and pain to come along with it, that was all child's play. "You be the fearless leader, I'll assist however I can. And I do know some others to join us if we ever wanted to take on the entire herd..." He probably was being a bit overzealous there, but anything was possible with a ton of hungry Kalona.
At his other response, Temptation pondered for a moment. "What would you do if another breed came your way? Curious, of course." He gave the other stallion a toothy grin. Temptation was lucky to have many encounters under his belt, and he used them as experiments in his favor.

Kaitos actually laughed at what he was hearing. Taking on a whole herd of buffalo would be an insane challenge, probably an all day task and would require a lot of man power.. and teeth. "I don't think we need to go so far as taking down the whole herd, then there would be less to have fun with later. Perhaps we'll go and see what the herd is up to later on when it cools off a little. I think buffalo would make a fine dinner," he licked his chops to emphasize his point.
He thought back to his other few encounters with his own kind. "Depends. I almost got into it with one, but that's because he was being nice to a lesser breed." A snarl escaped his mouth. He hated the weaker breeds, and honestly thought they were overall useless. "It had been a bit of a misunderstanding, but I doubt we left on good terms. The only others were mares, and they were alright I guess. Not very stimulating conversation." He shrugged. There just had never been a mare that could hold his attention very long to even say he liked any of them specifically.

So perhaps Temptation was throwing an idea out that was too crazy, but he was pumped. He just wanted to kick butt, and immediately! "Ok ok, but I agree, we should definitely do so once summer calms down a bit." He wouldn't be able to handle that intense of a hunt on a day like today. He'd be exhausted within seconds.
Temptation listened as Kaitos continued to open up, and took a drink of water as he spoke. When he heard him mention mares, his head lifted and his ears perked up. "Ah, mares. A complicated thing of beauty." He adjusted his position to face him better. "Not all mares will give you stimulated conversations, just as most stallions won't either. Don't you ever test the waters, flirt with some females?" Temptation chuckled lightly. "We have to keep our breed alive somehow. Might as well get yourself out there..."
He wondered... "Need any advice? I'd like to say that I am lucky to be so, mature, but my mother was the queen of desire herself, so I guess those abilities were passed on to me." Life was funny, but at least Temptation knew what he was good at.
Kaitos could do all the hunting, and he could get them some pretty ladies! They were set to survive now.
