There’s something to be said about relocation, to start afresh and to know that the past is behind you. For Ariana Knight it was an acknowledged fact, moving was better than staying in the mire of one life in lieu of pursuing another. At her age she had done this more than once, and walking into this new city from shadows of the world. Soft tendrils of ether hanging to her form as if to plead with her not to leave their company for this world of moonlight and mortals. It had to be done. Ariana was a creature of beauty, Raven hair flowing in soft curls and waves to the small of her back, skin so white that it could have been cast from the purest moonlight. She was a Knight, and for generations it had been the pride of the Knight’s to have clear skin, raven hair, and blue eyes. Or so she had been told, family was an odd word in her life- and not one she used often. It seemed to be over rated, to gather with people with whom you shared blood, with whom you shared appearance when all of it was a farce. Togetherness was a word meant to symbolize the blending of a family, old and new, but in the Knight family it merely meant being in the same room on holidays. Nothing more. Ariana chose to leave all of that, purchasing a house and moving immediately after the last family feud. This had to stop, and she elected to put a stop to it now. She cast her eyes around the square, spotting a store that sold oils and fragrances, smiling as she entered. There was nothing like changing the scent of a home to better acquaint yourself with it, and it to you. It also gave her something else to focus on as the rest of her belongings were shipped and the home truly became hers. Entering the shop, she was flooded with the a sense of calm, the oils washed over her and through her senses in such a way to make her heart skip one...or four...beats. The wooden boxes were so neatly showcased, and each one had its name inscribed on it, the one that had her attention was the one with pink Kanji etched onto it. “That one is called Japanese Spring.” a voice called from the back room, a young woman with black hair and startling eyes appearing at the counter. Ariana smiled and looked at it once more, looking to the woman as she continued “It smells of hibiscus and cherry blossoms, sweet, but not overly so and just enough to add a touch of aroma to the room.”Ariana mused “Then if you please madam, I would very much enjoy this one, and a box of your best tea- lights, no sense in having such wonderful oil and a lack of appropriate fire to fill my library.” her voice was almost sensual in nature, lower and languid as she gently picked up the box, handing it to Olivia to be checked out. Olivia packaged up the box as well as the requested candles, and complementary matches, smiling. “Enjoy your purchase, Ariana” her voice was pleasant as Ariana laid the payment on the counter, taking her item and then her leave. It wasn’t until some time later, at the house, that Ariana blinked “What the...I hadn’t given her my name...”

Olivia Solace Lighting Prompt (Required to reach Lit Scent stage) You have just purchased an oil burner and a specific scented oil from the Solace Scents shop and you can't wait to light it! Now that you're home, it's time to find the perfect place to light that scent! However, strange things seem to happen when you do... particularly with the smoke...
It has been years since I have kept a journal, so forgive my uncertain stumbling through my words, but the most mysterious thing has happened this evening that i simply must take down.:
I placed my new incense in the library, figuring it the perfect place for a serene scent, carefully arranging each detail as to complement the pieces around the burner, a bell some silk pink petals and its accompanying box of matches. Placing it on the desk, deep rose wood highlighting the pink of the oil in the bottle that accompanied the lovely dish and stand. I gingerly took a match and lit the tea light, filling the room with the wonderful scents of the orient. I noted, after some time, that the smoke seemed to be odd...some how animated, if smoke can be such, though surely I must be imagining this...smoke is just smoke and nothing more; the stress of the move must have simply tired me too greatly.
Sitting down to read a book, I slipped into slumber and let the gentle perfume cary me away safely into a pleasant dream. That Olivia woman truly knew which scent to pick, and the scent complemented the room most perfectly. Perhaps this town would be ideal for me, moving on as it were.

Olivia Solace Awakening Prompt (Required To Reach Child stage) Having run into your last ounce of oil, you mournfully place it into it's burner and light it, letting the aroma spread throughout your home happily. ------ [For Those Who Want To RP Finding The Child Only]Having remembered something you needed to do, you ran out of your home quickly, forgetting all about the burning oils inside. You return content, having completed your task only to find a small child wandering the halls of your home, leaving oily foot steps behind, leading to a cracked burner, and split candle wax. Describe your reaction, and how you deal with the oil tracking child. The evening started as any other, the moon rising just after eight and the temperature dropping just above freezing. The alarm came on blaring the radio, the DJ warning about a snow storm coming. Stretching, Ariana rolled from bed, noting that instead of the scent rich leather filling her room, the smell of frost replaced it. “Better go get some more oil before the storm hits.” Ariana mused gently, and dressing in jeans and a black sweater. Tossing her hair into a messy bun, Ariana moved to the library, checking the other oil burner. “Out...” she sighed “Might as well only go out once.” She smiled before grabbing her purse and heading out into the quickly cooling night. Upon her return,Ariana noticed that the marble floor seemed slick, “Okay, I need to hire a new maid...” she sighed, displeased for more work on what was supposed to be a relaxing evening with a book and cocoa. Suddenly, there was giggling, giggling? There was no one else in the house, who the hell was giggling? She opted to follow the oil slicks into the garden, after several feet she noticed that the oil slicks were in fact little footprints, and out in her garden was a small naked child.
“Oh my god!” She cried out, moving to scoop the young female into the house, throwing a blanket over her form. “Oh my god, where did you come from?” she asked, looking the girl over, she looked so strange...
Her flesh was pale, almost wood-like, hair dark brown and rather than flowing, it seemed rigid...eyes vibrant and tri coloured as she looked at the adult holding her. “The oil,” she said softly, accent coming out and breath sweet as new fallen rain the smell of hibiscus radiating from her. She seemed to have freckles, hibiscus petals highlighting her eyes and various parts of her form. She was stunning, and her voice was almost lyrical as she spoke. “My name is Tsuni, are you my mama?”
Ariana blanched, mother? Hell no, she’d given that up centuries ago to secure her immortality. Though, as she looked at this small helpless child, she recalled that the oil burner had been hers, and she had witnessed odder magic in her life, one thing she knew was that one always took responsibility for what was theirs, even if it was unexpected. “Let us, until we know one another better, simply call me a friend or a guardian. Mother’s are a very personal thing, and one has to be certain when selecting one.”
The child nodded, trying to grasp that, her movements soft and fluid, almost organic. “A friend it is, you are my first friend,” she smiled, hugging Ariana and granting her a sweet kiss to the cheek. Ariana couldn’t help but wonder, was the other oil this way, or no? Just then, she heard footsteps above her.
Oh crap.
