Indar Forest is the dominant forest that surrounds much of Neutral City's edge, its dense and even has many brick pathways with benches. The gardens are more specifically the small courts of ponds with concrete platforms nearby.

They left their home on the outskirts of the town and after only a few minutes they were going through the paths of the Indar Forest, it was scattered with gardens and stretched across a lot of the city and surrounded much of it also. "Are you cold?" Karuso had to ask, not so likely to feel it himself, but he knew winter was here, and the cold air that he breathed was visual warning enough as it were.
He left the house in his usual attire except for his chest-plate, swapping it for a white shirt. He barely wore much else, just variants of these clothes, when he slouched around the house he would sometimes wear more casual clothing though. The breeze went through his hair as he looked to Zien waiting for his answer... he... didn't want to seem weird, but wanted to know. He didn't need his coat if he was, though, the day was sorta okay. It wasn't freezing, and it was midday, so the sun was at its warmings when it cut through the canopy of the trees above them.
They would be at the city centre in only a short while, but the walk there was always nice and relaxing.

Walking out of the house, part of him wished that he had taken the time to dry his hair. Maybe not go as far as to blow dry it as Zien has been known to do only if he needed to; though that was his secret. With the cold breeze however, the near drenched hair started to get really cold. Specially making him shiver when a droplet of water ran down his spine.
That was probably what drew Karu's attention. "No, I'm fine, just a little bother by the wet hair," Zien stated in a dismissing way. "That's what I get for rushing out of the house half drenched."
Fire elemental's though has a high tolerance for cold. Which Zien was quiet glad for, specially as the winter was closing in on them. But he enjoyed the calm and peaceful atmosphere that the walk into the city gave the two of them. Breathing deeply the cold hair was harsh in his chest but it was a relief.

Zien dismissed being cold, assuring the vampire that he was fine. Karuso chuckled at the elemental when he mentioned leaving the house with wet hair, "well" he began, looking onwards as they continued down the path, "you were in a hurry to get out, like a dog with a toy, perhaps?" he joked, looking to Zien with a grin.
"Shouldn't you be able to... dry it yourself?" he then asked, knowing he was part fire elemental after all, or... would that set fire to his hair?

Hearing Karu mock his high energy, the hybrid elemental stuck his tongue out at the vampire knight. He always picked on him, but Zien always picked back as it were. It was their own little game that never went overboard; banter that went back and forth with ease.
Course then Karu offered up his suggestion of how to handle the 'wet head' situation. Zien course gave him a fake horrified look. "But my hair! Have you seen what happened when it's essentially steamed?! Guess not well...I become a frizz ball; all poofy and stuff. Call me a dog with a toy before, I do that and I'll look like one too."
Chuckle as the image came to his mind, Zien shrugged. He'd rather deal with a little frizz then deal with icicles. So he let his internal heat warm his head and eventually his hair; just a little bit to get it started and get the majority of the dense water out. Even with that being done, Zien still ended up steaming as they walked down the road.
Looking at himself, Zien had a thought as he laughed outwardly and wholeheartedly. "Look at me...I guess the sayings 'hot stuff' or 'sizzling hot' would be fitting right now." Even saying them aloud made him chuckle as he looked to Karu to see if the vampire thought it funny or simply to see the look on his face to see his reaction.

Karuso thought fondly of the times Zien had forced his hair dry on the odd occasion or two, he hated it - Zien did anyway... Karuso thought it funny almost always. Yet, he remained silent as Zien went on to explain what it was like, Karuso let out a laugh though, that sort of guffaw you'd expect from someone who grew up in the 15th-16th century. He looked forwards as he regained his posture mid-walk and began saying "You could be my personal Pomeranian dog."
Karuso couldn't help it, he continued smiling, Zien made him laugh no matter what the mood, that boyish grin and embarrassing stories he would tell. He knew so much about Zien already, and always wanted to know more. Feeling teh warmth his noticed the steam and could onyl suspect what would happen to the elemental in short time. He looked at Zien as he commented on 'hot stuff' and grinned, but awkwardly looked back ahead of him when Zien looked at him for his reaction, "Hm, i guess you could say that" with a chuckle, going along with it, but something scary in his chest not making him want to agree completely - why? He looked down at the pavement as the grass and stone slabs passed by, he was trying to think of something to say next.
"hey" he began, smiling as he looked ahead, "I think i should join you for a Sparring- a work-out session tomorrow. It's been a time since i've trained in my own time". He had to change what he was saying mid-sentence, trying to... you know... speak more commonly. Who sparred these days? He also wanted to show interest in what Zien does, and it was something relatable, it was something Karuso used to do all the time. The only exorcise he got these days were monster hunting.

The dog joke, which it was clearly was and though Karu had been joking with him for sometime now. That particular joke was a good joke and barb, which left Zien a little shocked and speechless for a moment in surprise. However it quickly turned into a scowl. Raising a pointed finger, the elemental gave him the most serious and intimidating look he could muster.
"I know where you sleep at night mister..." he said in warning; though it was in all good fun.
There was silence for a moment as the humor and carefreeness of them both filled the chill air; along with Zien's steam. As Karu spoke up, hazel eyes of the elemental turned to him though maintaining a neutral expression. Course that didn't last as Karu spoke about joining him in a Spar. The excitment was clear on Zien's face as he broke out in smiles and eager sparkles shown in his eyes.
"Oh I'd love that! Sparring with you will be much more fun and challenging the fighting air." Skipping ahead a bit, Zien spun so he was walking backwards and facing Karu. "Think you can keep up with a spry youngster like me old man?" teased the hybrid.

To Zien's first comment Karuso chuckled and together their moment calmed...
But the elemental was pleasantly surprised with Karuso's suggestion, and the vampire couldn't have been filled with more joy knowing Zien would be more than happy, excited even! It made Karuso feel warm in his chest, he couldn't hold back a smile from breaking free. Then Zien went ahead and turned, walking backwards, Karuso half-waited for him to trip back and fall to the cold path.
Raising a brow, Karuso begged him to ask that again, "Old? I've hunted monsters and ran from them all my life, you're asking a silly question" he teased back, then tightening the gloves on his hands as if to be preparing.

Though Karu really didn't show it, though subtle, Zien knew that his friend and companion was happy to hear how excited he was at the news. The vampire knight wasn't always great about showing his emotions, though certainly better now over time, he was still sort of stoic sometimes. Reserved and not always letting the emotions out in a true expression, but just seeing the hints of it on his face; in Karu's eyes or the slight up turn of his lips and the slight rumble of his chuckles. It all made Zien very happy indeed.
And for him, it showed on his grinning face and in his sparkling amber gaze.
With Karu defending his honor, the hybrid chuckled further with a wave the hand dismissed his words. "Psh...monsters, there just big meanies and no real challenge at all...where me on the other hand," Zien grinned stopping and poking Karu in the chest. "I'm a far greater challenge; better looking too. So you better watch yourself old man."
Teasing Karu was the best, one of these days though Zien was gonna get it bad..part of him looked forward to it, while the other side...was a little worried all the same.

Zien laughed to himself at Karuso's allegation as if his own wasn't far fetched enough. He dismissed Karuso's words and dared to say he was far faster than some of the monsters Karuso has faced. He then stopped as they were walking and suddenly Karuso we stopped just short of walking into him, Zien's warm finger firmly pressed against his chest and Karuso couldn't help but have an overwhelming sensation take over his body. Then, not only that, Zien almost flirted whilst taunting him, and it made Karuso almost stutter as he got his focus back. "uh-" he began, then chuckled to himself for a second as he awkwardly smiled and added "With those blonde locks and that slender body, I almost feel threatened.."

Took a moment for those words to sink in...not the ones that were teasing or accepting of the fact that Zien could be a threat of his own. Rather the words prier, just moments said before were what took the elemental a moment to process. Second seemed like minutes, as his young mind went flying in every which direction at Karu's words.
'...slender...' for some reason that word alone made him all flustered.
Fortunately, Zien saved himself with a slow smirk, mischief in his eyes. "Glad to hear it...shouldn't underestimate, this slender body," Zien purred out.
Not sure what had come over him in that moment as the words left his lips, but Zien was quick to turn on his heel and continue on their way. Better to have Karu at his back since a burning blush was playing across Zien's pale cheeks and certainly would have shown clear as day if he had stayed staring at his friend. Fortunately the cold settled the blush down quickly and now he could blame it on the cold if any remnant was left.
And that was how they continued, walking in silence together with no real destination in mind.

For a moment Karuso felt somewhat stunned again, breath ceasing to escape his lungs when Zien said that. Zien then continued to run and Karuso had to swiftly follow.
They hit the town centre and the sun was high in the cool sky. ((so, i was gonna keep this calm. but i changed my mind)) But that was when the raging storm hit. Dark clouds covered the skies in just several minutes, and minutes later thunder was roaring across the skies, coming from the north-west. "What is this?" Karuso asked himself, staring up and around him. There was no rain just cold and darkness. Then the clouds above them began to curl, tighter and tighter until it created a black eye-like hole int he clouds that dipped down to the earth like a delicate finger. When it touched the ground the black air burst into life, spawning creatures beyond horror that instantly began to terrorise anyone left outside, began to pillage anything that was not theirs. This was the first city to succumb to Lucifial's deceit, and without any warning or greater power like the other cities, it was less likely to be protected. Screams could be heard in the distance, and these creatures - demons, clawed their way towards innocence. "We have to help them!" Karuso announced, lookign to Zien as he pulled out his rapier. Twisting his wrist the blade turned so it was as thin as paper, but when he moved his wrist back, the blade was now twice as long and much wider.
Serpentine demons with teeth and claws for garments lashed out at them, Karuso jumped backwards whilst he threw out some Darcane orbs that whispered through the air and fluttered tot he nearest enemies before exploding. When Karuso landed his feet dug into the ground as he swung his enourmous blade round as if it weighed no more than his rapier. It cut through the body of one demons, and its lifeless body flopped to the ground like a log. Twisting himself round like fluent water, he brought his blade round from behind him and swung again to slice through vermin. There were suddenly so many...
Karuso flipped his sword so he held it like a dagger and held it infront of him, with his other hand he thrust forwards Darcane magic that was like a lunar light, it was thrust from the blade like a blinding gaze that pushed the vermin back to keep Karuso in safety and give him more time to plan his strategy. He then heard the incantations of someone sinister nearby, and his vampiric senses allowed him to duck and twisted his body just in time to dodge a dark, flaming orb that would have scorched his face to cinders if he had not moved any sooner.

I’m a princess cut from marble, smoother than a storm.
And the scars that mark my body, they’re silver and gold,
My blood is a flood of emeralds, precious stones,
It keeps my veins hot, the fire's found a home in me.
I move through town, I’m quiet like a fight,
And my necklace is of rope, I tie it and untie.
((Hai nemo, slight change in circumstances for the boys here wink Cardy and Euphemia are comin' in for a bounty, which is actually a stray demon left over from Lucifial. These are but the critters it uses to coax willing victims closer, deeper into the forest.))
The stroll over to the forest wasn't too difficult, about an hour's walk from the other side of town and they were at the edges of the grassy land. The canopy of the trees was a welcome one, if Cardy had to tell the truth she preferred it when it was darker, the light was blinding sometimes... not to mention hot. "We're finally here" she stated, coming to a stop as she looked down the long winding path of dirt that stretched endlessly into the forest. At least it looked friendly. "Stay close to me.. I'll teach you how to fend for yourself and get what you need to reach your final success" Cardy say with a cunning grin, then gesturing for Euphemia to follow her.
It wasn't long until she noticed the area get colder, and it strangely became quite dull and Cardy realised that the monster must be nearby. From what's she's come to learn about Magic Earth, was that demons had a far greater effect on the land and the people than they do on Non-magic Earth. It was strange though, the teen wasn't afraid, she just lifted the cloth from her basket, which hung neatly on her arm. From it she pulled her two guns, they were silver and intricately patterned, each of them had a trinket each too. One had a crystal that was a deep red, and the other was a deep green. Spinning them with her fingers she clutched tightly onto them and placed her basket by a tree. she could then hear the commotion of battle nearby, "someone's already here..." and then her eyes widened "getting my bounty!". Cardy quickly began making her way towards the source of the sound, and after passing some trees and some muddy trails she found herself watching the scene as it unfolded. She stopped in her tracks and observed, a tall pale man with long white hair had the biggest sword she'd seen, and the other in bright yellow and tanned skin shifting the very earth and bending fire to his will. Around them, several beast-like demons. It took Euphemia appearing at her side to snap out of her staring trance, she gave the girl a look and said "don't move" as advice.
Cardy jumped forwards, and from a few feet away shouted "hello sweeties!" crossing her wrists one over the other with her guns pointing directly and one of the larger demons in the middle of the fray. With one small flick, her guns shot a magical bullet that struck the demon and caused its veins to light up green before falling to the ground, limp.
This is the start of how it all ends

Euphemia
Euphemia silently followed Cardy over the grassy lush plains and into the dark dreary canopy. Eventually, they stopped in front of a winding path that caused the girl to move closer to her guardian. Cardy was now going to teach her the basics of survival and earning her way of living in the word. One the path, Euphemia would occasionally check on her flower until she felt the cold nipping at her soft skin. Cardy simply lifted the cloth from her basket and pulled out the two beautifully crafted guns. Each had an embellishment hanging from it symbolizing the power it contained. The girl was drawn to the crystals and wanted to touch them, but as Cardy put down her basket a battle that someone else had instigated was going on near by.
Running through the bushes and muddy trails that made her slip and slide, she caught up to Cardy out of breath. In front of her, a pale, long haired sword wielder with a dark skinned fire wielder at his side, quarreled with some stray demons. Euphemia's heart was beating so fast and she had no choice to obey Cardy and stay put. Her guardian joined the fray and greeted the men with her overwhelming enthusiasm. When her guns went off, Euphemia jumped and gazed wide eyes at the limp demon on the ground. She slowly slumped to her knees and shivered as she watched the fight on the sidelines.

The attack of the demons was sudden but Karu was right they had to help or these nasty hellions would run around eating and slaying a lot of innocent people around the area. This was their home now, they had to protect it. So with flame and earth Zion twisted about dodging as well as striking out at the enemy.
A creature in particular was jumping towards him, its leaps taking it high into the air. But simple stomp of his foot caused a large bit of earth to come up and a thrust of his fist the small bolder hit the creature square in the face and chest mid air. Those were more so of Zien's goals since Karu was battle the more ground stricken enemies. Fortunately they made a great pair that way; close quarters and on the ground while distant and enemies by air was his specialty. Course if Karu really needed to the arcane magic he used would be in their favor as well.
"Having fun yet?!" he yelled to his friend and roommate as he twisted around a blast of flame shared a creature to the bone.
Zien was about to continue yammering about as he rarely shut up for long, but a sudden young looking woman joined the fun with guns blazing. Calling them both 'sweeties', at least the elemental thought that was the case, or she was calling the demons sweeties but that didn't make much sense. Flinching at the gun shots thought, her target was rendered a bloody mess.
"That had to hurt..." he mumbled. Course distracted as he was, Zien never noticed a demon sneak up behind him. Distance in its favor since its head exstended from the neck of its armor like an eel from its hiddy hole in the reef. Its nasty snake like head bearing down on Zien and before he knew it nasty rows of sharp and many fangs sank into his shoulder near his neck. "Aaaaaagh..." came his pained cry, the pain of it driving Zien to his knees; never could deal with pain well. "Karu!!"
The cry for his long time friend and companion was instinct on the young man's part. Zien didn't know where Karu was, or how long it would take to get him there to help, so he tried to free himself. Unable to lift the arm that was being bitten on, he lifted his other hand hoping to burn the thing's very head from his shoulder.
"I'm not...you're damn, chew toy!!"
