Ulysses trotted into the meadow, happy to feel the sun on his flutter wings. Summer was by far the best season for him and his ilk - the warming the weather the fast and better they could fly. The fact that were was an abundance of grasses, flowers, and berries to eat was an added bonus. And of course... the mare seemed exceptionally restless and eager to try new things...
He smiled to himself and slid his shades further down his nose as he looked around to see if anyone else was about.

Ryuukishin ((Omg great temper. xD))
Jin-Soo was lounging at the meadow's edge when Ulysses appeared, his short tail working to dissuade the bugs buzzing around. He didn't seem particularly bored or discontent, but he perked up visibly at the sight of the stallion. Though his home hadn't been brimming with soquili, friendly company was always nearby and Jin was still getting used to the idea that the Kawani lands were too large for him to expect the same as he traveled.
"Greetings," he called, rising to his feet and approaching the male. He cocked his head at the wings, surprised, when he noticed their motions matched the stallion's gait.

Ulysses's excitement picked up when he heard someone call to him, but he tried to mask his slight disappointment to see another stallion. No, it wasn't that actively disliked other stallions, but of course, he was looking for some summer night type activities and he certainly didn't think a stallion would suit what he was looking for.
And the more stallions around, the more competition for mare.
Not that they were really competition... but they get all needy and desperate and it can get hard to watch.
Oh well.
"Good day," he said, forcing a smile at the newcomer.

Ryuukishin The disappointment was lost on Jin-Soo: he was rarely dismayed by the prospect of company, and so didn't expect it of others. And besides, he was busy admiring the other's wings. How very life-like they seemed, and so similar to the butterflies that floated about them now.
"Are they real?" he blurted. Then, with a smile that was half-amused, half-apologetic, "I'm Jin, by the way. It's nice to meet you."

Ulysses looked over him carefully. He seemed harmless enough. "Yeah hi. My name is Ulysses," he said, watching him from the top of his shades. When he asked if they were real, he looked confused for a moment. He looked back and followed his gaze to his large blue wings. "My wings?" he asked, amused. "Indeed they are!" He waved them back and forth for emphasis. "Aren't they beautiful?"
Modesty wasn't his strong suit.

Ryuukishin "They are. I've never seen their like on another soq before," Jin said, evidently delighted with them. He'd seen a few other unusual traits since he came to the Kawani lands and was curious whether such wings were normal, but by now he could detect a self-assuredness that seemed to go beyond confidence in Ulysses and he didn't want to insult the stallion by implying he wasn't unique. Instead, he asked, "Did you get them from your parents?"
Surprisingly, the glasses did not pique his interest as much. Having lived with humans for most of his early years, he already knew of and understood their purpose.

"Yes, I did. My whole family has them," he said, puffing his chest out a bit. Well, the family he had ever known at least. He never knew is mother - she had left the baskets with his father and he raised him and his two siblings. "All of us have black coats and amazing, large blue wings. Its quite a sight to see us all other, though my sister is off in boring lifemated bliss. And I fear my brother is heading that way, too. So monotonous! My father and I will be bachelors forever, let me assure you!" he laughed, with a wink and ndge to the other stallion's shoulder.

Ryuukishin Jin laughed, enjoying Ulysses' energy.
"Well, I can see the appeal in that, but to each their own, eh?" he said, neither agreeing nor disagreeing with his sentiment. He motioned to his legs. "My family is usually marked by these rings and bands. I'm the only one to have come to these lands, though. Do yours live nearby?"

Ulysses looked at his legs as he pointed them out, feigning interest. When other stallions were talking - unless they were talking aboyt him or about mares- he had a hard time paying attention. "Hnm," he acknowledged, giving a shrug. "Uh, they are around. My brother lives up in the mountains somewhere, and my sister just follows her mate around like a little puppy." He made a face. "My father and I don't like to step on each toes, if you catch my drift, but he's around these lands somewhere.:

Jin smiled, amused. He had a nephew similar to Ulysses and he was fond of anything that reminded him of family, especially when he was so estranged. He could tell the stallion wasn’t very interested in them, however, but he didn’t mind. After all, Ulysses was kind enough to stay and answer his questions, and the least he could do was to try and find a topic they could both enjoy.
“You live by yourself, then? How do you like it?”
