All things considered, it was exceptionally early when Remarque went out that night. The sun had had only just set by the time he powered up and was prowling the streets. He didn't know what compelled him to go out that early, but he was restless. For a short while, he'd meandered through the dark alleyways he always haunted when he was looking for trouble, but either they'd wisened up or he'd been stricken with bad luck.
Either way, he didn't stay for long. When he couldn’t find someone there, he headed to the park.
The park never let him down.
Almost immediately after he stepped out of one of his favorite mirrors he felt the buzz of an order senshi. It was a split second decision to get closer; he stepped back into the mirror and out of another one he estimated to be closer. He wasn't let down; stepping out, he had only to walk for half a minute before the senshi came into view.
"Well, well. I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting before," he called as he approached. "You come here often, or did I just get lucky?"

A week had passed since the terrifying events that took place on the rooftops. And Avior still could not pull himself together. Watching people die right before his very eyes, feeling so helpless, and so terrified kept him from leaving his home, causing his parents to worry over their son. Though initially thought to just be his time of the year when he reminisces over his old home in India, they realized that even now he could not speak of such things.. Something other than those memories were holding him back.
They locked him in his room. They took everything potentially dangerous out of reach. They even took the fish hooks away. his precious hooks. The last thing he found peace in was fishing, and he couldn't even do that. He wasn't suicidal! He didn't want to die or to hide away his whole life! He just wanted to know that he was safe, and that his family was safe as well.
After three days of self-imposed solitary confinement, it was time to leave the house. Though it was not late, it was dark when he left his house, and went where most people didn't dare to go this late at night. The park.
After the last announcement by Tag.. Whatever his name is.. The park seemed to be so much emptier than before. With actual solid evidence that people were being attacked, people were scared. Avior himself was scared too.
Perhaps that was the reason why he decided to power up. Even though he was not the strongest, something about being in this uniform wrapped him in a familiar warmth, like an old friend holding him close, telling him that everything would be okay. And so far tonight, that seemed to be the truth. It was quiet, and not a thing in the darkness moved.
Until something quite different came nearby. The feeling of something he hadn't quite encountered before. Another aura, that felt.. It was hard for him to describe it even to himself. And then a voice rang out in the night, and that same fear that had such a tight grip on him for the past few days returned just as quickly. His steps led him backwards, until he found himself pressed up against a tree. There was nowhere to run if they wanted to attack..
"I.. I don't want any trouble. I don't want to fight.. Just.. Just leave me be, please..." There was no doubt in his heart that his words would go unnoticed.. It always seemed to go that way...

Though Remarque's interest had been piqued, he did not seem inclined to obey the senshi's request. He took a few more steps forward, slower than before, and then stopped when he was close enough that he didn't have to yell. "Trouble?" he prompted. "I'm not out for trouble. Nor a fight."
Even if the idea did send a spark through him.
It had been too long since he last got into a tussle. He hadn't even been boxing recently, and it was showing. Or, at least, he thought it was. Either way, he'd convinced himself he needed to hit up the gym a few times before this week was over. He was going to work out this aggression, this stress—but not on a senshi. Not if he could help it.
"You seem a little jittery. Something wrong, senshi?"
It was a redundant question; if the guy was backed up against a tree, obviously something was wrong.

"You really don't want to fight..?" This man seemed to be.. Atleast some what honest. And his outfit was something he had never seen before.. Well, no, that might be wrong. With the few corrupted Senshi he had met, they looked jut as dark as this man did. But there was no crack in his forehead. The empty space that was there with the other dark clothed Senshi he had met wasn't.. Well, there. Maybe this one was someone new... Maybe another type of senshi.
"... Isn't there always something wrong, nowadays..?" He didn't want to believe that he was becoming paranoid.. It was just so unlike him, but fear was a very strong influence, and it didn't seem to want to let go of him any time soon.
"I'm sorry.. I'm being rude.. I don't want to say I'm new to anything, cuz I'm not. Just.. Saying I'm traumatized sounds like an excuse.. Aren't you a Senshi too?"

"I am," Remarque replied, a bit of pride in his voice. "Of the Dark Mirror Variety, though. I take it you haven't had the pleasure of meeting one yet? It's a shame. It isn't as though there aren't enough of us."
…Not that he would admit that he had noticed their numbers dwindling, or that he was seeing less and less of them. He didn't feel as though he wasn't doing his job, though; he worked hard to see to it that any member of the Court who needed him had him. He was doing all that he could.
There just weren't enough senshi. Yet.
He extended a hand and introduced, "Remarque. And you are…? …Unless you'd rather skip the name bit and tell me what's gotten you traumatized."

"Dark Mirror.. It sounds vaguely familiar, but from where I don't know.. If there are so many of you.. Why have I yet to meet another besides you?" Oh, that came out as rude, didn't it..? He had always had a problem with his speech when he was upset. It always came out as if he were angry or hated everyone. It wasn't the case, just stress..
"Avior.." He took the other's hand, giving it a rather meek squeeze. He made a face as the other mentioned his state of mind, and he was right. It did sound like a cop out, an excuse to act like such a weakling.. But it was just something he couldn't shake off.
"I.. Did you hear about it recently..? The civilians that were hanged off the top of a building nearby..? I-I was there.. And I couldn't save anyone.. But even worse.. I didn't want to. I just wanted to run! To get away.."

Remarque's handshake was firm, though he didn't keep a hold of Avior's for any longer than need be. The truth was that he hadn't heard of that incident, though he wasn't about to admit that there was something he wasn't in the know about.
"I see," he said after a short moment, eyes on the senshi before him as he continued to observe. "…Why is that? …That you wanted to run away, I mean."
His words were short, but he saw an opening and he was going to prod at it until he knew the senshi in front of him.
…Plus it seemed like a good excuse to try and fish a few more details about the incident out of him without having to blatantly ask.
If he had to guess anything about the senshi before him, it was that he was weak. But he was also still new. Remarque didn't know for how long, but that was a good combination. A coward could be trained. A novice could be guided. An outcast could be saved.

Nearby there was a fallen tree that had yet been cleared by the park warden, and it seemed like the perfect place to just.. Flop down and take a breath. It was difficult to recall what had happened.. Every time he did think about it, fear reached into his very soul... But the more he actually talked about it.. Well, the easier it was for him to see it as something that didn't really happen. Hearing it outloud made it all seem like an overly exaggerated story used to scare people.. Maybe it wasn't real... The news would say otherwise..
"I am weak.. I wanted to save myself." It wasn't as if there was a likely hood that he'd meet this man again, so why not tell him everything he felt? Especially if he wasn't going to be attacked.
"Self preservation came first. And.. Because of that, maybe I'm partially to blame for the deaths that came around. I had.. I had never seen anyone die before.. What's the scariest part though.. Is that other Senshi.. ones more powerful than I am.. They caused the death of some of those civilians directly.. I don't know who to be more terrified of... The Negaverse who started it all.. Or the Senshi and Knights that failed to save anyone.."

Remarque watched from behind half lidded eyes. He knew that the Negaverse were not at all innocent—particularly when it came to civilians. He had never done anything worse than drain a civilian—maybe rough a thug or two up, but Remarque certainly slept well at night. There was no guilt on his conscience.
Killing a civilian, though. That would rough stuff. He didn't know how any Negaverse agent could stomach it. It was, perhaps, the thing that most separated the Dark Mirror Court from the Negaverse—the fact that Negaverse was so negligent when it came to gathering energy. The fact that they didn't care who they killed.
They were wasteful. He didn't know what circumstance would require them to start a fight with civilians, or senshi and knight to cause the death of any of them, but he was going to ask. Just not Avior.
"Perhaps you should be wary of both." He stood, rather nonchalantly, observing the male. "They are not always as they seem. Though, just as you shouldn't trust either of them, you shouldn't beat yourself up. You're still new at this, I take it?" It was an assumption based only on rank; he did not wait for an answer before continuing, "Your life is the most important thing you have, isn't it? If you die now, you'll never get stronger. You'll never be able to protect anyone. You did what any intelligent human being would do. There is no harm in self preservation. Though, you really should be careful that you don't turn out like the rest of the White Moon. Their morals have been long since distorted. They expect too much and give too little." Remarque shrugged. "Not to mention how untrustworthy and uninvolved they are. If you're interested in getting stronger—and in actually growing a spine enough to save someone—you should really look into the Dark Mirror Court."

"Growing a spine to save someone? It's so stupid.. Why do I have to save anyone in the first place?" There were times to cry, and then times to just get angry. As much as he hated himself for everything that has happened.. It was starting to look like this guy was just as biased as everyone else was.
"I should just be weary of everyone, shouldn't I? I haven't even heard about the Dark Moon until now. How do I know it isn't just the same exact thing, but with a different tune?" It was quite peculiar to him, now that he thought about it. The other didn't even bat an eye when he told them about the deaths he had witness. Why, if someone else had told him the same thing, Avior probably would have freaked out, gotten up and hugged the person, petting them until they told him they were Alright. There was no need to sound so harsh about anything, now that he thought about it. The guy before him was right, he was weak..
"I want to become stronger. For no other reason then I am tired of being scared. I've been scared for far too long, and the next time I see the man who did all of that, I want to be able to.. To punch him in the throat and knock HIM off the side of a building.."

Remarque leaned back and contemplated for a short moment. "You can't go wrong with getting stronger. It doesn't matter what you believe in, strength is always the answer. Not always physical strength, though. Maybe you just need to get stronger mentally, or emotionally. It's not always about saving others, you know. Have to save yourself, first. If you don't want to save people," he shrugged. "Then don't. Who cares—it's your life. If you don't do it, either someone will pick up your slack or you'll lose someone close to you. It won't just be nameless civilians."
He took a moment to review the conversation so far; he wanted to connect with the senshi, wanted to get him in a place where he could be molded—fixed.
He had to have faith that someone among their numbers could be saved.
"Who was he? This Negaverse Agent that has caused you such despair."

"Is that supposed to make me feel any better? No, I suppose not, it's just the 'reality' of things, right?" Avior scoffed, standing up. He shouldn't have stopped at all to talk to this guy. He should have kept running, after all, it's what he was becoming best at.
"He.. His name was Bischofite. He is insane, I can say that. I don't even understand why he does such things like killing all of those people! It's as if nothing really matters to him! Then again, I could say the same for me.. But I don't go around just.. Just killing people for the fun of it!"

Remarque clucked his tongue against the roof of his mouth. "Bischofite," he mused. "Not my favorite Negaverser, I'll tell you that much. We've not had particularly pleasant run-ins."
He shouldn’t have been surprised to hear it was him; the lieutenant had seemed something of a loose cannon.
He would have to find out more about what he'd done and see if the Negaverse was going anything to reel him in. "I'm sorry you had to have such an unfortunate encounter with him. This whole thing…seems to be a bit overwhelming to you. Of which I mean no offense," he insisted. "Though, for whatever propaganda the White Moon insists on spreading, I have always cared for them and their wellbeing. And you seem like you're struggling. You have a life outside of this," he gestured towards his outfit for emphasis before continuing, "You did before, and you will long after this war is over. Perhaps before you worry about others, you need to worry about yourself. I mean, really. Sit down and think about it. Or find someone to listen to you. You seem to have things you need to sort out. Or, maybe it's not you that's the trouble. Maybe it's your allies. Who do you have, now, that's looking out for you? That has your back?"

"Evil, is what you mean. He has no other purpose than to kill, in my eyes." That man.. If he had to kill someone, if he had do use any excuse.. If he could, he'd go for that man. After all, he is nothing short of a murderer.
"Of course, no offense. As for propaganda... I have honestly hardly heard anything from them. The encounters with them are just as common as meeting a nega. There's.. There's no organization, that I've noticed. " As Rem continued on, he could not help but allow himself to smile. He WAS still human, right? No matter what anyone said, whether he was an alien, or a noble from another country, he FELT human, he was BORN on this planet. That entitled him with something, right?
"I have no one looking out for me. I look out for myself, and even then, it's unfortunate, for I admit, I am a coward. No allies definitely seem to be be a problem. And.. If you are concerned for the 'White Moon's" Well being.. What exactly is your purpose?"

"Well, I'm glad you asked," Remarque said, glad to be back in familiar territory. This was a topic he knew well, and Avior's question was a one he rather liked to answer. "Our purpose is to save the White Moon Senshi. You can call yourself a coward all you like, but you have to realize that already you've had more realization on the matter than some senshi who have been doing this for year. You have no one looking out for you. In the White Moon? You never do. Because first and foremost, they have been brainwashed to care about themselves. They do not consider their actions or what they do, and so far as war goes…let's just say they're on the wrong side. There is a woman out there—a woman who would call herself your queen. Who would expect you to serve her unconditionally—to die for her. And yet she won't even reveal herself to help you out. For as much power as she is said to have, she certainly has not been making much use of it. For all the senshi that have died, all who have been hurt—scarred—in this war. That she started. Most of the White Moon cannot bear to think of themselves as pawns, but then again. Most of them don't think to question it."
He paused for a few seconds to allow it to sink in before continuing, "We do. We know of the deception and betrayal the White Moon is capable of, and we have drawn away. We refuse to follow an absent queen," Briefly his mind flickered to Ares, though he pushed her from his mind. "And we want to give new purpose to the meaning of senshi. For every senshi who doesn't have a place—for every one who is unhappy, or discovered her deception. For every one who wants the chance to do something—be something."
If nothing, Remarque was passionate.
