For the past several weeks Moke had spent time on his own. Especially after the defeat at the paws of that blonde maned lion. That lion hadn't even used his claws as much as knock him over and sat on him until he couldn't take it any more. So to say the least, Moke hadn't actively sought out company while he licked his egos wounds.
Imbali crossed his mind every once in a while to go back to but the leopard never acted on those impulses. Instead he carried on in an obscure direction semi near the Bhanu lands. He wasn't ready to fully return home yet. In fact, the leopard was dancing around the idea of returning at all. It was every mans land in his home pride kind of like it was out here only out in the vastness of the land of rouges he really had no boundaries. He could go any where he wanted and be any one he wanted.
Though, part of him felt like a bum living life like this. He was a king of nothing and a nameless stranger in these parts. Here it didn't matter who his father was or even who he was. He was just another faceless feline like the rest of them. For what ever reason this just didn't sit well with Moke.
It had been several weeks since his encounter with that blonde lion. Maybe he'd go for a hunt for the respect he so desperately craved. A cruel smile unfolded on his maw. The leopard slithered his way in to the brush moving ever so slowly and fluidly. It didn't even matter if Moke ran in to some one today. The fact that he was actively seeking out some form of interaction was enough to prove his egos pounding was proving void and the blue leopard had not learned his lesson at all.

Dever was resting lying in a low depression of the landscape, with his back soaking up the midday sun and his head (with glorious red mane, if he did say so himself) underneath a prickly bush at the lowest point of his small ditch. This way he got to soak up the sun without the brightness making it impossible to nap. It was, so the lion thought, a very clever act. He thought he heard someone moving around the area, but ignored the noises. He was sleeping, only his orangey back was visible, and honestly, what had an adult male lion to fear? Secure in himself, Dever continued focusing on his nap.

A strangers scent up ahead caught the leopards attention. It wasn't strong but it was clear something else was there. What, the leopard could not be certain. The curious side of his feline self got the better and he steered off his path in stalking mode. It couldn't have been Imbali. The leopard knew her scent too well after spending so much time with her. It could possibly be that golden maned lion from before or even that annoying hybrid. Both were characters the leopard would have loved to get his paws on to snap their necks. Though it could also be some manner of prey for him to mangle. Closer and closer still the leopard stalked in the sea of grass. The scent told his paws where he'd need to go. A glimpse of a golden shape just up ahead had the leopard pause for a second. There was a feline with its head hidden in some brush. Just lying there. Confused, the leopard cautiously moved forward. Was this feline dead or sleeping? Was this some sort of a trap? Moke was of course confident in him self enough to not let any of those thoughts detour him. The leopard paused at the lions rear, flexed his claws in and out in the sandy ground below, before clawlessly stepping on the lions tail. The blues leopard face was completely blank as he did so. Moke was pretty sure this was a dead feline he was dealing with.

"Yowowowch!" Dever cried aloud at the sudden, unexpected and exceedingly unwelcome pain in his tail. His instinctive reaction was to surge to his feet. This ended up forcing his head up into the bush it had previously been underneath.
"Aieeeeee!" the lion's yell of pain spiraled up an octave into a screech as the scratchy branches and twigs dug bloody lines into his face. He couldn't devote any attention to whatever had landed on his tail until after he managed to pull the bush off of his head.
This thoroughly engaged him for the next several minutes.

Moke stood and watched the lion. His expression the same minus the one raised brow. The leopard wordlessly stood there not being any help at all. Except for maybe lifting his paw. Other wise he wasn't much help at all. Just a stone faced nuisance if anything.
"That's quite a yell you've got," His tone was cooly spoken while he looked down his nose at the struggle.
Moke took a seat. He could wait for the lion to free him self. Really, the blue leopard was a little inwardly amused. His features wouldn't hint at that though. Moke had a cool semi bored look to his features.

The golden-furred lion was busy brushing off the last of the bush from his head when the unknown voice spoke up. Dever startled at the sound, but refused to turn around until after he had finished dashing the last of the leaves and twigs from his face.
Having finished that incredibly important task, the lion deigned at last to turn and face the probable tail-squashing culprit. He found himself face to face with a leopard.
Brown eyes narrowed slightly. "You should apologize." He ignored the comment about his yell. It was obviously just startlement, that was all.

Moke stared at the lion with not the slightest bit of amusement. His features were as if he was made of stone how unmoving they were.
"Why?"
Was asked simply.
"I thought you were dead. I simply stepped on your tail to see if you really were or not. I'm not sorry for that. No no." He frowned deeply at the lion. "I'm just disappointed to find such squeals did not belong to a female. " He underlined female with much emphasis.
"But you do not seem dead which I suppose is good. Goody goody and all that." Mokes claws were flexing in and out in the sand below at this point excitedly.

This conversation was not going at all the way Dever would have it. But he would never show his embarrasment or shame to anyone, let alone a total stranger! That would be, well, it wouldn't be good and would not convey the proper image of himself.
So he wouldn't deign to respond to the leopard's unsubtle insults.
"Of course I am not dead, therefore, you owe me an apology," the lion insisted stubbornly. He did note the eagerness of the leopard's claws. It was...interesting, but beneath him to observe aloud.

This lion wasn't budging from the topic. Moke stared at the lion for a long moment in silence keeping his chin up and his eyes narrowed.
"No."
Was simply put.
"I don't apologize to those that do not deserve such an honor." His claws continued to flex in and out. The leopards pupils grew to big round circles and his teeth bared getting in to the lions personal space.
"I can show you you're place though," A low growl rumbled through is throat. The leopard had told him already he wasn't getting an apology and still he persisted. Moke lifted a paw to strike.

Dever remained calm as the leopard showed increased signs of agitation. He wasn't entirely certain what the other male's problem was - it was simply a well-deserved apology after all - but he was damned if he'd give in to this unseemly display of aggression. He didn't even react to the ridiculous notion that a leopard could show a lion his place.
The paw to his face, however, made a bit of an impression.
He glared back and bared his fangs. Obviously, this idiot was somewhat dense.
"Apologize," he growled, giving the smaller creature a last chance.

Mokes pupils were still perfect circles of aggression. This was the wrong day to demand an apology from him and he was not about to back down. His fangs were bared and his fur raised.
"No" He growled. The leopard had worse done to him growing up and never once was he to ask for an apology unless he was able to take it from who ever caused the offense. Moke sneered at the very notion of giving this male an apology. He stood his ground.

Dever was taken aback by the leopard's stubborn refusal to apologize when he was so very clearly the one in the wrong. First he stepped on the lion's tail, then he derided him, now he attacked Dever and still refused to apologize! How unmannerly.
"You are incredibly rude," the lion informed the leopard with a superior sniff.
Losing interest quickly in the rude male, Dever turned to leave. He didn't need to stick around and pander to the ego of this idiot.

The lion was leaving now? It was unclear if this was a victory or if he was being challenged in some strange way. Moke's claws continued to flick in and out for a moment.
He was really leaving.
The leopard frowned and said nothing watching the lion for a moment before turning his own back and walking off. At least some aggravation had been burnt off. But the leopard still felt quite unfulfilled.
