While the session had seemed quick to end, Jin Ho was surprised by the orange and pink tinted sky as he stepped out into the yard just outside of Dr. Kempe’s offices. He hadn’t expected the day to fly past, considering this was to be the end of this week’s sessions and he was allowed to travel back home to his family for rest. The Fellowship and Council were kind enough to provide him with living arrangements during his treatment, but whenever possible he preferred to be in the calm, country setting of his parents’ humble home.

For the time being, Blaithe appeared rather content as the evening wore on. Rene, as usual, was eager to please and had showered her with praise and offered therapy of his own while the humans did their own thing. In some ways he helped, often regaling stories of his own ‘adventures’ and achievements to make her feel better about her miniscule stature – despite how for a short time she would feel better, she still couldn’t help but hate her size.

She just wanted to be useful.

”Do you think the flowers will be in bloom by the time we return?” Blaithe asked, nestled comfortably against Hero in their Grimm’s palm. The cat’s attention was on the bright red hat, idly twisting the tassels during their walk.

The former mage shrugged, glancing down at the two before keeping an eye on their path once more. ”Perhaps. Min Ho has been tending in our absence, so if not now then soon.”

The brush would have responded, but rather than looking at Jin Ho, both she and Hero’s attention drifted elsewhere. There was a vague, nearly washed out scent of death in the air – it was oddly diluted, similarly to the scent the hat Plague carried with him, but it wasn’t long before she recognized the odor. Her mouth thinned, not necessarily frowning but pulled into a tight line. Hero didn’t recognize the scent, of course, but he could relate it to the fowl and other poultry he would often see or smell outside of their home. He noticed Blaithe tense under his grip before maneuvering over her shoulder. ”What is wrong?”

”Jin Ho…” she cooed, looking back up at her Grimm. ”Hayat.”

Their motion ceased, Jin Ho stopping in his tracks to stare down at the girl. Hayat… that was Yizhaq’s Servos, if he remembered correctly. He would have been surprised to see them around, moreso that Blaithe had caught their scent, but given the circumstances, they were in a highly important, highly populated hub in Imisus. The chances of running into each other were slim, but it wasn’t impossible.

Glancing around, the native Imeses man wondered just how close they could have been. He was unaware of Hayat’s growth or the chance that she could have been alone. His eyes scanned the crowd, and while he couldn’t tell if he was more relieved or disappointed, he couldn’t find the pair. In all honesty, he still felt incredibly bitter over the man’s words during their last meeting, but given he was an ally there was no point in holding a grudge. In the end, their faction could possibly be the last thing they had. Companionship meant everything.
