Her door was open, the sweet spring night air filtering into the room as her scent came to him. An underlying hint of something primitive wrapped around his body, drew him closer. He’s only meant to make sure she was safe. The call of her soul was too strong to be ignored. A light thump as he stepped into her bedroom. He fell back against the wall as her scent grew stronger. “Rio...”
“Kilian.”
She sat up on her bed. In the faint moonlight siphoning through the window, he could see every curve, every line, every hollow of her body. Wearing one of those tiny shirt’s she called a tank top with just a pair of cotton and lace panties, the sight of her was enough to draw a soft grumble from him as he stared, transfixed, as she rose from the bed, as she approached him in the dark.
“Did you miss me?” She asked, her voice a whisper as she stopped near enough to feel the heat radiating off her body, far enough away that she wasn’t touching him at all. She didn’t have to. “You don’t have to say... I missed you, though.”
She didn’t give him a chance to answer. Her lips touched his, softly, gently, as everything that was Erionda surrounded him in an instant. Her fragrance overwhelmed him. The familiar sakura blossoms in the springtime rain. The feel of her lips on his, teasing. She stood away from him, hands clutching his shirt so tightly that he could feel the neckline digging against the back of his neck.
“Hold me,” She murmured against his lips, “Don’t leave me behind again...”
“No,” he assured her, hands wrapping around her, dragging her against him as she gasped. The tension gripped him as he held her, he slipped a hand into the silk of her hair, as he tipped her head, kissing her. The understanding that she wanted kisses, wanted his arms around her, wanted to be with him spurred an urgency in touch, drove a rampant passion through him as she returned the pressure of his mouth, as she pressed closer to him.
Hands tugging on his armor, relentless as she searched for his flesh, she yanked it open. Followed quickly by his undershirt, her hands delving beneath. Kilian closed his eyes as Erionda’s hands brushed over him, kneading his muscles, teasing skin. The absolute sensation. the shock of her touch shot through him. When he opened his eyes to look at her, the fire banking her gaze scalded his blood, fired something primitive and dark. “Tell me what you want Kilian...”
With a start, Kilian jerked awake, nearly falling off his bed in the process. “What the...?” He grumbled as he struggled to shake of the remnants of the dream. the all too real proof of what it had done to him. Staring down at his chest with a marked frown and a hot blush.
Pushing to his feet with a low groan, Kilian rubbed his face as he gathered up his twin daggers and stuck them into their sheaths.

The hot morning air was bothersome. The events over the battle played over in her mind. It was getting harder to survive as a Hybrid. She had granted Kilian permission to stay with her. To use the spare room as a place to sleep. She couldn’t stand the thought of him just sleeping on the couch. It didn’t feel right, like he needed to be given more respect than he seemed to ask of her.
Taking in a breath of air as she pushed her arms skyward in a stretch. Erionda yawned with the release of her muscles. She had been sleeping better with Kilian about, at least when he was there. He had currently been away and Erionda suspected he had gone home to see his family. Not that her Drakein companions didn’t lend her the protection. But somehow, having someone closer to human was a bigger comfort to her. Brushing the sleep tears from her eyes Erionda pulled on the the first layer of her skirts. A simple purple skirt, the white tank top tunic she wore when she slept was often changed after she had first eaten breakfast.
Glancing out her window at the sun, Rio wanted to curse at it. Shouldn’t it know better than to rise so early. Grumbling the young Hybrid began her descent down the stairs. She hadn’t paid too much attention to the spare room where Kilian usually stayed when he was in Eowyn, getting used to him being gone was far harder than getting used to him being there with her. She would often gather up her Drakein and head for a quick dip in the local Oasis as part of her daily routine each morning. As she hit the bottom of the stair Erionda heard a strange sound coming from the spare room. Curious but not wanting to intrude Rio’s mismatched eyes shifted towards the water barrel. She had taken the time to fill it the night before.
Moving towards it she dipped her hands inside for a drink. The water was fresh and cool against her lips. Looking towards the door again as another soft sound came from Kilians room Rio became increasingly worried. Furrowing her brows and biting her lower lip gently. The Hybrid moved towards the wooden door. Laying her hands on the handle she slowly twisted the knob. Intent on pulling the door open.

Kilian paced the room a few times, his heart still beating wildly from the dream that had awoken him. His skin was hot to the touch and he almost couldn’t stand the early morning heat of Eowyn. He glanced out the window, at the expanse of desert surrounding Erionda’s house. He needed release. He needed....”Rio...” He mumbled he leaned his head against the wall next to the window and pounded his fist down.
Kilian pushed himself away from the wall and made his way over to the door. He would go find a dragon to hunt. That would calm him down. He paused at the door, his hand hovering over the handle. He could hear Erionda moving around. He made a fist and pounded it lightly against the door as he let out a breath. That dream had really done a number on him and he wasn’t sure he could face her so soon. So many emotions were running through him; desire, frustration. He ached to kiss her again. To feel her lips on his. He gritted his teeth as he leaned his head against the door.
He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. Just as Kilian was about to decide not to go out yet, the door handle jiggled. Why was she coming in? His eyes widened as he stepped back away from the door just in time. His muscles tensed as Erionda stepped into the room.
“Erionda..” Her name left his lips on a whisper. The desire from the dream sweeping through his body all over again. The heat rushed over him and made his dark skin blush. His heart started to pound rapidly. Kilian couldn’t hold back much longer. The longing to kiss her again was just too strong. He claimed to be a strong warrior but this woman undid him like nothing ever had before.
Growling out his frustrations he closed the gap between the two of them in two quick steps. He moved close to her, reaching out he pulled her to the side until her back hit the wall. He gritted his teeth as he looked down at her. She appeared fragile, delicate. His body ached, he was starting to wonder if kissing her would be enough. Shifting his hands into balls as they created a barrier around Erionda Kilian leaned forward. Shifting until his lips brushed against hers, then pressed against her’s into a kiss.

The pink haired hybrid jumped. She hadn’t expected Kilian to be there hadn’t heard him return the previous night, her heart skipped a beat at the sight of him. Was this a possibility she was still dreaming? One of those dream within a dream scenarios?. Her mind had been making scenarios were Lanzecki had possibly gotten trapped in the Oblivionites room. Crawled in the window or something. Or was party to Uassae’s temper about removing the Oblivionite from the spare room completely. Not that it made much sense to her, but the Keindred was known for making trouble in random places through her house. She knew Uassae had to be wrong about Kilian running away from her. Some part of her told her it was impossible for Kilian to leave her now. Not after what she had learned, not after what they had been through.
Her eyes widened as they took in the sight of Kilian. There was something strange about him. The way he held himself, the way he looked at her. She blushed turning her head to excuse herself from the room. She didn’t want to intrude on his privacy. He deserved better than that. Then her intrusions. Struggling to breath as she faintly heard what she thought was her name Erionda lifted her head to look at the tall man before her. Wincing she prepared herself for a barrage of words. Words meant to scold her for intruding. They didn’t come. “S-sorry Kilian... I... I thought Lanzecki was causing trouble and that you had already left.”
Erionda found herself muttering as she took a step back away from the door. The Aiskala didn’t hear Kilian close the distance between them. Startling when his hands gripped her, pulling her forward into the room and against the wall she had only been standing beside moments ago. Her violet and blue eyes stared up at the hollow empty sockets above her. Had she offended him in some way? “K-Kilian... when did you-”
Her words were completely cut off as their proximity closed between them. Her heart thundering in her chest, gripped painfully but some unknown force. His lips were against hers. Soft, demanding. Kilian broke her down, left her aching, needing, yearning. Her body trembled, held against the rigid strength that burned against her, she couldn’t think, couldn’t breathe, she couldn’t remember anything at all.
Trapped in a vortex of pure sensation as she struggled to understand what was happening. She gave up quickly enough. Impossible to fight, unfeasible to ignore, comprehension was an abstract idea, a fleeting fancy that she couldn’t grasp. She gasped at the complete devastation to her sense. Longing wrapped around her as her body melted into a frazzle of repressed nerves, she sighed.

Kilian’s hands moved down to Erionda’s shoulders and pulled her away from the wall. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her closer and deepened the kiss. He didn’t want to let go. Didn’t want to stop the kiss. When he heard her sigh, he broke away from her lips. His breath was ragged and his heart was pounding even harder than before. “Rio...” His gaze searched her face as he let out a deep sigh and leaned his forehead against hers.
“I’m sorry...” He whispered quietly as he kissed her forehead and then moved down to her cheek. His lips leaving feather light kisses. He pulled her even closer to him and moved them both backwards until the backs of his legs hit the bed. He sat down, bringing her down with him. “I don’t think I can stay standing.” Kilian whispered as he pulled his head back. This was crazy. His feelings for this woman had grown greatly and it was as if he couldn’t get enough of her lately. It still scared him. Strong warrior that he was, this woman could easily bring him to his knees should she so choose.
Kilian let out a ragged sigh and nuzzled Erionda’s neck. The tension in his muscles slowly relaxed. It seemed as though just having her this close to him relaxed him and made the discomfort from the dream lessen. What was he going to do, though, if the dreams didn’t stop? He let out another sigh, sending his breath out over her skin.

Erionda blinked away the strange sensations as the skin on their foreheads met. Her muddled mind tried to comprehend the very recent event. She didn’t even have the time to register Kilian’s proximity before his lips were on hers. Looking up with a blush, Rio’s eyes were hidden below her eyelashes. Why wasn’t she fighting him? She would have completely dismembered him by now. If he were anyone else you would have, her mind firmly told her. Closing her eyes in acceptance Rio opened them slightly a moment later. He was kissing her forehead, with an apology? Tilting her head to the side, allowing the hair to fall away from her cheek as another kiss was placed there.
The gentleness behind his every touch, his every movement set off a wave of violent tremors throughout her body. Somehow he felt more real to her, more imposing, more vibrant than he ever had before. Even the arms that wrapped around her to hold her close. She wasn’t aware he was slowly moving her away from the wall. Until he moved to sit on the bed. She felt the tug and moved to join him. She sat on his lap, her legs bending up to one side. Leaning close Erionda wrapped her arms around his chest. His sigh tickled her skin and she almost giggled with the sensations.
She waited a moment before opening her eyes to search his face. Leaning back slightly his skin felt feverish, she grinned and smoothed his hair out of his face. “Is everything alright Kilian? You’ve been acting strangely these past few months.”

Kilian reveled in the fact that Erionda now let him touch her. His grip around her waist tightened a little at the thought of her pulling away. He pulled back to look at her face. Kilian leaned his face into the palm of the hand that Erionda had used to move back his dreads. He turned his head and kissed the center of her palm. With a sigh, he opened his sockets and gazed at her face. Her smile tugged at his heart and he couldn’t help but to smile back.
Her question caught him off guard. Kilian looked away and out the window, wondering how to approach that question. There were so many ways to explain what was going on with him right now. Things that she might not be willing to listen to at this point. “I’ve just been having these dreams...” He mumbled as he looked back at her. He couldn’t go into detail about them to her. Even thinking about what they had been about to do in the dream made Kilian blush, causing the heat from his skin to become hotter. Those dreams were going to be his undoing.
Kilian reached his hand up to Erionda’s face and brushed his knuckles across her cheek. “I’m afraid.” He told her quietly. Though they had been through a lot and she showed no signs of wanting to leave him behind, he still had his fears. There was nothing to keep her by his side, even if he confessed how he felt about her. He wouldn’t force her to stay either. He wouldn’t do that to her.

Rio was slightly surprised to feel the strength in Kilians arms intensify around her. It wasn’t uncomfortable, and yet, was a sensation she hadn’t felt since she was a child. She struggled internally with wanting to leave and wanting to stay. In turn Erionda moved closer to Kilian. Every move he made was strange to her. Fascinating at the same time. Pleasant sensations rippled along her shoulders with the contact of his lips against the palm of her hand. Searching his face for a hint of his emotions. Blinking when she noticed his smile. There it was. A tangible, real feature she recognized. A warmth spread to her cheeks at the sight of it.
Her smile faded as Kilian looked away. Her eyes still searching his face, as if looking for guidance of some sort. She opened her mouth to say something. Pleased when the silence was broken by Kilians voice. Dreams? What kind of dreams? Did he have nightmares of Alpha too? Of beta? Of the recent events the past few months? What about his cousin or family? Glancing away and then back again thoughtfully, Erionda bit the inside of her bottom lip. She had selfishly wanted him to stay with her for a while. She hadn’t even stopped to think if he had missed his home.
Finding her thoughts interrupted by the contact of his skin against her cheek she turned her attention back to the Oblivionite holding her. “Afraid? Of me?” Erionda asked quietly. Shame filled her face. Of course he was ashamed of her. A stupid half breed. He wouldn’t be able to enjoy the life he would normally have if another Oblivionite had chosen him. Suddenly blushing at the trail of thoughts Erionda shook her head slightly. That wasn’t right... had she chosen him? Her?
“I’m sorry Kilian. It’s my fault. If an Oblivionite had chosen you before i did. You wouldn’t be in this mess” Erionda replied, shock shifting through her system. She hadn’t censored her words before they spilled out. Covering her mouth with a fierce blush coloring her cheeks Erionda moved to push away from him. Shaking her head quickly from side to side, both her hands pushed against his chest as she attempted to run from the room.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Rio’s mind screamed.

Kilian’s sockets widened at her question. Afraid of her? That was ridiculous. He watched as the emotion on her face changed from happy to sad. “Of course not!” He said as he shook his head. The blush coloring her cheeks made his face relax into a soft smile. How could she think he was afraid of her? Did she think he was afraid of the kind of relationship they’d have? Did her thoughts go that far?
In the next instant his question was confirmed. “Erionda...” Kilian whispered as his mind went blank for a second. Another Oblivionite? Choose him? He searched her face as his mind processed what she had just said. He was shook out of his shock when Erionda’s hands pressed against his chest. He looked down at them and frowned. He quickly grabbed hold of her wrists, determined to not let her get away from him. “Rio...please.” He pleaded as he looked up into her eyes. The worry evident on his face. His fears revealed.
“Rio...” He uttered her nickname again, the sound leaving a pleasant taste on his lips. The fact that her words hinted at her having chose him made a rush move through his body. She had doubts still, though. Kilian understood. So much would change if they were together. His life for the most. What would his family think? His friends? He thought back to Ekundayo and the love he obviously had for a Dovaa. They were both warriors and both chasing something that was forbidden to them.
Kilian pulled her closer to him, wrapping his arms around her and holding her. His head rested on top of her’s. Every breath he took brought in the smell of sakura blossoms. “I”m glad you chose me though.” He said with a small chuckle. “Erionda, I wouldn’t change a thing about this.” He said as he pulled back from her and looked down into her eyes.

A furious light lit up Erionda’s eyes as he took hold of her wrists. Instinctively she wanted to let her power surge around her. To create enough of a shock he would let her go. A shorter version of her name rang through her ears. Clenching and unclenching her fists Rio stopped fighting him. She had uttered words without thinking. Weren’t feelings like these forbidden to her kind? Water clouded her eyesight, allowing Kilian to pull her close to him.
She could feel the pressure of the necklace he had given her against her chest. Her eyes grew wide as she stared into Kilians empty eyes. She didn’t resist when he pulled her flush against his chest once again. He was glad she had chosen him? Her face darkened with color. He had caught her words too quickly for her to take them back. Focusing on the necklace dangling, Erionda’s breath came out in a staggering rush. If he was glad that she had chosen him. Then that would have to mean... “You like me? Like... that?” Erionda whispered hesitantly. Her mind rushing to stay on track. To piece together the information she had.
She paused and waited for the answer before speaking again. “You deserve better than me...” Rio’s voice was soft, barely audible. Her body surrendering to the comfort of his arms around her. She closed her eyes enjoying the sensations. She had been denied such things for so long. She had no idea until now just how much she craved human contact like this.

Kilian’s hands moved up to Erionda’s shoulders and he lightly ran his palms over her skin. The contact was soothing to him and he cherished every bit of it. His breath hitched in his throat as she asked the question. Like her? It seemed more than such a simple word as like. Though he couldn’t really begin to describe it in full. Love? Maybe. He sure did have strong feelings for her. It made his heart ache when he thought back to her being locked in that cage, to what he had thought had happened when he saw her lying there, motionless.
He was about to confirm what she asked when she started to talk again. Kilian’s face turned into a frown and he shook his head. He used his fingers, under her chin, to tilt her face gently up so that she was looking at him. “Oh Rio.” He whispered. “You’re strong and brave.” He smiled softly. “You’re beautiful.” He paused to let those words sink in. He didn’t care if she was a hybrid. Didn’t care that part of her was Orderite. His feelings for her had grown so much over these last few months that it was enough to shove those small details out of the way.
“Yes, Rio. I like you.” He smiled again, seemingly unable to keep from doing so. “Like that.” He whispered as he leaned in slowly to place a gentle kiss on her lips. He pulled back. “Never think you’re worthless.” KIlian told her firmly.

Erionda remained silent for some time. She wasn’t sure how to respond to the new course of information. To the new course their relationship. That he too, carried the same emotions. That she was more than just an affectionate buddy. Shifting so her knees rested on either side of his hips straddling him. Rio leaned inward, to place a kiss on his lips. Her hands brushing his cheeks as she let her hand run down his arm to wind her fingers between his. A light pressure was placed against Kilians chest as she continued to kiss him. Letting the kiss push deeper. A part of her was glad for the support the bed gave them. His heartbeat hammered under her palm as every living, breathing moment bled into their surroundings. Soulless or not. She was his, and she would remain that way.
“He’s... Beautiful,” she mused. More to herself, not realizing she had communicated through her bond with Uassae and Lanzecki. She felt the unwelcome prickle of Uassae’s snort, and Lanzecki’s laughter. She didn’t care, eye’s half-open as she stared at him. Nimble fingers roaming across his shoulders, down the vale over his heart, she was relentless, tender, demanding. He looked like he was in pain, and she frowned, reaching up to touch his face, her fingers trembling but gentle. “Kilian?”

Kilian’s sockets widened as Erionda repositioned herself on his lap. He closed his eyes as her lips met his. Leaning back as she pressed up against him, he used his arms to support the both of them. He groaned as her fingers trailed down his arm and their fingers locked together.
The beat of his heart began to speed up as she deepened the kiss. This woman was slowly unwounding his control and there wasn’t anything he could do about it. His joy of being accepted coursed through him and Amadia snorted. Learn to block your emotions. She retorted in his mind as he felt her slip out of the house. He was sure that he should care about that but at that moment all he was worrying about was the pressure of Erionda’s body against his. Her lips on his.
He groaned yet again. this time it was in agony at the loss of contact. His sockets opened and he stared at her face, mentally willing her to come back in for another kiss. When she didn’t, he grit his teeth. Desire rose up in him and it took all he had not to pin her to him. When she uttered his name it sent a shiver up his spin, as if she had lightly run her fingers up the middle of his back. “Hmmm?” It was all he could manage to mutter at the moment.

Each groan sent shocking waves of molten heat through her body. Unbridled longing raged through her, culminated in a tremble, a barely repressed aggression. Igniting sparks that roared to life, she could hear the blood pounding through her, as though every part of her wanted to merge into him. To shelter his vulnerability, to protect and harbor the fragile heart that she was sure she had found.
Another moan, and he left her breathless. Mind reeling as emotion flowed like honey, as her quickened heartbeat thundered in her ears. He was everything to her now. He was the one who protected her, the one who showed her every day how much he had to offer was the same being. the one she relied on. ‘I like him,’ she thought dizzily as she opened her mouth to ask him, to give voice to her worry in his expression. She couldn’t speak. Her body reacted as she leaned forward and kissed him again.

All thoughts of what she had wanted to ask him fled his mind as her lips were on his again. Heat shot back up through his body as he returned the kiss. He deepened the kiss as he sat up and rolled with her, pressing her into the bed. Pinning her in place as he kissed her more. He supported his weight with his arms, not wanting to put his heavy frame completely on top of her. Strong emotions flooded his brain as he lightened the kiss.
Pulling back, he opened his eyes and took in her flushed skin. “Ah, Rio.” He muttered as he bent his head and nuzzled her neck, inhaling her sweet scent. His fingers trailed down her arms as he placed feather light kisses on her neck. He moved so that his side rested against the mattress. His arm was draped over her waist and he pulled her closer to him.
If it were up to him, they would stay in this position forever. No worries in the world. He knew that wasn’t possible, though. The world was moving on outside of her home and some major changes had happened. His hold on her tightened at those thoughts. He would not lose her. He didn’t care if he was defying all of the rules set in place by the leaders. They could go to hell for all he cared. Unable to hold his fears back, he mumbled into her hair. “Please don’t leave me Rio.” His vulnerability showed. She was the only one he’d allow to see it. With her, he would trust his very life.
