You were once a king. I was given life and thus, you became a Great King. Together we became a legend. Combined we were fearless.
I watched you climb, drowning yourself in gluttonous pride, taking your creations and tainting them with false promises, lies. I supported you through the destruction of your kingdom and the greatest of your grief. I watched as in your reflection you sought one last piece of self-justified protection and set me aside until I remembered only revenge.
I am nothing now but a name and a fragment of a lost legacy.
I will sleep until you return.

-"Have already decided." They were tired of waiting. They didn't believe in truces, or sincerity. Even saving the world sounded abstract. This was simply what she would have wanted. "Cause and effect. This is simply the effect of-"
-"What we're trying to say," interjected a smoother voice, "Is that it really is terrible. To think out of all places - Amityville. My, what a strange and unusual coincidence." White teeth and all smiles.
The third figure was the only one uncloaked. She had no reason to hide, and so she did not. "I have my reasons as well, and I do not agree either with truces -" she gave the two cloaked figures a dirty look - "Yet the part will be played. I am just a messenger." It seemed the word left a distasteful aftertaste in her mouth as she spat it out. "The path forward will be inevitably the same."
Silence. Then the smallest of the group leaned forward, uncloaked to another cloaked figure. A taller cloaked figure, a stark red to the drab greys. "My opinion is the same. You know what I think of those whelps. It is about high time they really opened their eyes."
A sigh from the shortest. "It will happen whether we like it or not. All those involved in the same memory will repeat themselves. They have already chosen."
"Well, that makes it easy." The last voice that spoke up adjusted their stance, long black cloak trailing on the ground, dissolving into tendrils. Out of all of them, they created the most disruptive presence, old and powerful. "Each one of you has been involved in these, shall we call them, incidents as well, but of course, it takes more than one person to make a mountain out of a molehill. Cause and effect. Misfortune. Obligation. Growing up. Inevitability. It's all the same thing isn't it?" They peeled a candy bar. Baby Ruth. "Now, I came here, to make a wager..."
