Aoimoku - -_Wish of Tevarae_-
&
Aischur - Das Tor

Aischur found herself on the borders of the pride again, admiring how the morning mists dispersed faster near the less thick parts of the jungle. She couldn't help but smile, humming a bit. They'd been in the lands of the Coileani Draiochta for a time now, getting things cleaned up and settling it well. And they'd gathered so many people to them...

There was part of the family Kai's future mate was from. There was her own large family. There was a family that had joined them shortly before they'd arrived! And a few others, here and there. And they were all helping to set things right. To get the reborn pride on its paws again...

As he'd come to know the Pride, the rather large, mute male was very happy to see it coming back to life. Aoimoku's blue eyes cast about as his paw pads pressed into the earth, carrying him towards the Pride's edge. He was curious about this world, about this life. And when he spotted Aischur, a smile curled his maw. Watching the mists was lovely, and watching her...she was lovely too. As he made his way to her, he swept a paw beneath himself, bowing to her. When you couldn't speak, you often had to find other ways to express yourself.

Aischur's ears perked up when she heard pawsteps, and she found herself looking to Aoi, smile widening. She'd grown fond of the silent male, in all truth, and was wondering if it was perhaps...he'd be up to leadership. "Merry meet, Aoimoku." She returned his bow, then moved to sit beside him. "How do you fare this morning?"

Her voice always drew a soft, rumbling purr from his throat, and he offered her one of his warmest smiles. Though the gods had seen fit to take his voice at birth, he knew other ways to 'speak' that didn't require much effort. When she asked how he fared, his head tipped from side to side, indicating that he was well enough, if not slightly off. He was tired, in all truths. After he was done with the gesture however, those big, blue eyes turned to her, with a questioning look. How was she? He hoped she was well.

Aischur leaned over to place a lick on his cheek. She never liked when he was even a bit off. But she understood that it happened. Sometimes, the Gods placed hard burdens on their children. "I am well. I've been thinking of something, though. Something rather important." She knew her decisions affected the entire pride, not just herself and her blood-family. She was the Maiden, after all.

His head turned to the side, nose gently pressing to her flank, showing his concern. He oft worried about the burdens the Gods placed on her and the others who stood tall in the Pride. His paw carefully graced hers, and his nose moved to touch her ear, wondering about what she was thinking of. Hopefully nothing plagued her with negative thoughts. Such a pretty face didn't deserve to be sullied by worry and pain.

The wing-marked female giggled. "Nothing bad. Simply...I'm the Maiden. But we've no Suitor yet. They're letting me choose this first one, to start things off on a good note." She took a deep breath, letting her lungs fill with the sweet air of the morning. It was less...heavy and wet than it was in the thick of the jungle. "And I've found someone I wouldn't mind standing beside me throughout the cycles. My visions have not spoken against him either."

His confusion showed in his eyes, and his head canted aside, curious. She had a Suitor she wanted? That was good. A bit...disappointing to him, but good nonetheless. Taking in his own breath of the warm, damp air of their home, his head turned out to the mists, taking in the warmth of it, "..." He wondered idly who she'd chosen, and when finally he was ready to hear what she had to say, those blues turned to her, wonderingly, curiously. Who was this suitor she'd chosen?

Aischur's smile grew into a grin, something she rarely did, and was more reminiscent of her adventurous mother than her steady father. "I'm looking right at him." And then she nuzzled him, purring. "I think you would make a wonderful Suitor, and a good leader in the future."

Aoimoku felt his heart leap into his throat, twisting and twining in delight as she pressed to him. She wanted him! Aischur wanted him! His delight knew no bounds, and as a grin spread across his maw, his head tucked over top of hers, and he purred deep in his chest, letting her know the only way he knew how that he was MORE than glad to stand beside her as her Suitor, to love her, and dedicate himself to her. She had been his world for some time now, and even still, now she could be his world in truth! He couldn't be happier!

Aischur giggled, enjoying the sound of her own purring mixing with his. He was happy, and that meant she'd chosen right. She leaned into his larger form, content with where she was. In her mind, all was right with the world now. All the pride needed was their Crone and Wise one...and those she had a feeling would show up soon enough. Very soon indeed...

"We can tell the Mother and Father and Priests later." For now, this was their moment to enjoy. Though she knew everyone would be happy to hear they had a Suitor now.

His head bowed, and his smile was bright, head gently moving against hers, loving, warm. She was his. His Maiden, and nothing could bring him more joy than this moment. He nodded as she murmured that they could tell him later, content at that thought. Good. This was their moment. Their moment to bask in the Gift of the Gods. The most blessed gift they could give. Love. And he did love her so. She was going to be more precious to him than any food, or herb. She was going to be more beloved than any gem, and he'd show her that. His tongue gently lathed over her ear, and he purred again, nuzzling.
