Today was something special and Orah couldn't wait for her friend to join her at the park. She'd chosen somewhere out of the way, a place where they'd be less likely to be seen, because what was going to happen might be a little startling for the average person.
Clapping her hands together, the teen rubbed them as she paced back and forth in front of what looked like a picnic basket. A rolled up blanket lay across it and Orah sincerely hoped Anella wouldn't have a problem sitting on the ground. Maybe they could find something to sit on when they got where they were going, but she'd brought it just in case... It never hurt to be prepared.
Mentally, the girl went over everything in her head, making sure she had everything she had intended to bring. She rarely forgot things, but this was important. It had to be perfect, or the whole gesture would be worthless. She and Anella hung out all the time, this time needed to be special.

All things considered, the past few days had been good for Anella. She was healthy, in one piece—relaxing while still keeping on top of her knightly duties. Plus, the idea of hanging out with a good friend had seriously upped her mood.
It was good to be out; all this fresh air was just rejuvenating. It probably helped that the park didn't seem so threatening right now.
While not necessarily on time, Anella was only a moment or two late when she spotted her friend. "Hey!" she waved, trotting on over. "Sorry, did I keep you waiting for long? I tried to be quick, but my dog was just super cute. Kept giving me those big old puppy eyes. I almost brought him, but—you know. He's such a handful these days, always trying to make friends with everyone and bring home all these stray animals. Anyway! How are you, what's up?"

All worry popped right out of her head when Orah heard her friend calling her, replaced with excitement. Sure, this might be intended as a treat for Anella, but Orah would enjoy her reaction as much as she did!
"Hey!" She called happily as she waved. Unsure what would be appropriate to wear to something like this, she'd settled on jeans, boots and a breezy top, just in case they ended up tromping around somewhere rough. "Nope! I don't mind waiting anyway. We've got plenty of time for our trip."
The teen gave a mischievous smile as she glanced about for anyone nearby, then ducked over next to a big, leafy bush. Her transformation phrase came easily to her lips and the warm light that surrounded her was a welcome one. She knew what she was doing by this point and it no longer surprised her. Her new fuku might surprise her friend though, and she struck a super hero pose when she emerged.
"You haven't seen my upgrade yet, have you? You know I had a little bit of a tough time with it all after that attack, but ********* helped me work it out and then helped me power up. That's not really the surprise I have for you though... I really wanted to do something to thank you for... Well, everything, so I thought you might like a picnic." Ida's grin got bigger and she practically danced in place. "On Ida."

Aventine's eyes widened as she looked over the new outfit and a grin immediately appeared on her face. "Oh, you look fabulous! When did that happen? I'm so jealous! God, you look so cute in that," she laughed, and she wasn't very shy about looking over her friend and nodding approvingly. She had been entirely distracted by the change in attire that it took a few seconds longer for Ida's words to actually kick in. When it finally clicked, it registered on her face.
She blinked, cocked her head to the side, and then repeated, "On Ida? Wait, on—on your homeworld? You can do that? I didn't bring my space suit, so I don't—wait, let me power up real quick!" she insisted, before retreating behind the same bush Ida had just utilized. Where Anella had disappeared, Aventine reappeared shortly after, though she wore the same interested, eager expression.
"—I mean, you know I can't turn down a picnic—but seriously, in space? We can do that?"Bluefire Dragonz sosososo sorry about this ;;

Ida laughed at Anella's reaction, pleased with the response. She was proud of what she'd accomplished, of her upgrade, and it was nice to share that with someone who was proud of her too.
It was near impossible to stifle some girlish giggling as Anella went to change, her surprise over the location Ida had picked coming across hilariously funny to the young senshi.
"Of course we can do that! Senshi phones have this button and all I have to do is concentrate and push it and BAM. I'm on my homeworld. I've done it a couple of times and its so cool... I thought you'd really enjoy seeing it." She said as she bent down to retrieve her basket and blanket. The handle over one hard, she hooked Aventine's with the other, summoning her phone to hand.
"Don't worry about the space suit. Ida has air just like here. It hasn't got a ton of other stuff but... oh, you'll see! Now, just hold on for a moment..." Ida said as she lifted her phone and pressed finger to button, her mind focusing in on the power she could feel flowing through her... the power that came from the place they were searching for. All senshi had this... it was a comfort to know that there was something that tied them all together, as varied and disconnected as they were.
The change in location was immediate and somewhat drastic... rather than a park with grass and trees, the paved walkway and bench, a great grassland stretched out before them, gently rolling over hills as it disappeared into the distance. The horizon felt... closer than it did on Earth, the grass dotted with small flowers in a rainbow of hues.
Ida sighed happily as she looked around, as always feeling a sort of proprietary pride in the place... Ida really was a pretty place. Pretty, but so empty... It was the only part about her visits that saddened the senshi. The silence was so... complete. Only wind rustling the grass and the branches of the petrified trees that stretched behind them like some great city of wood.
Ida had deliberately tried to get them facing this way on first arrival. As she turned to look over her shoulder, she couldn't help the nostalgic and sad feeling she got seeing the bare, skeletal branches on the towering giants.
"Welcome to Ida, Aventine." She said softly.

Aventine had her doubts, though did her best to keep them to herself. She was glad she did.
The transit itself had not been bad—or even particularly unbearable, though Aventine hardly had anything to compare it to. Her eyes lingered on the plants in front of her, and she didn't breathe for a long moment. She pulled her arm, and Ida with it, closer to herself as she looked on, breathlessly.
It was only when she became aware of a faint stinging in her throat that she even seemed to remember to inhale. It was shallow at first; she wasn't afraid, and in the back of her mind she knew Ida wasn't panicking—so why should she?
The air was fresher than what she was used to in the heavily populated metropolis she called home. It hadn't been the air that stunned her to silence and jumbled her mind for long enough for her to forget to do something she'd been doing since birth—it was the sight.
Aventine had seen many places in her life—many beautiful places, and had she been on Earth, maybe this one wouldn't have been so special. But they weren't on Earth.
They were somewhere far away, living—breathing.
No matter how long she was a knight for, she wondered if there would be things like this to keep her on her toes.
"Wow," she finally said. "And this…is all yours?"
It was almost painful to tear her gaze away from the new environment, but she had to look at Ida just to remind herself what was going on. "This place looks amazing…It's unlike anything I've ever seen before. It's beautiful."

The young senshi squirmed as her friend pulled her closer, trying not to giggle at the stunned look on Aventine's face.
"Its not mine... though, I guess since its where I get my power and I'm the only one who can get here, you could probably call it that..." Honestly, she'd never thought about it that way. It was more the other way around, in her mind... she belonged to Ida, she was it's senshi. It simply was... she could never hope to own something like this.
"But, um... yes, I suppose. All of this is Ida, though there isn't a whole lot here as far as life goes. I haven't seen any animals and there are certainly no people. There are ruins though, the remains of buildings that people lived in and all their things they left behind. I'm... I'm glad you think its pretty though. I always thought so too."
Ida smiled brightly as her friend turned to her, giving her arm a squeeze in reassurance.
"One thing's for sure, we're not going to be disturbed here. We can do whatever we want and we don't have to worry about bothering anyone. I haven't done a lot of stuff yet, since I can't come here too often, but I've started exploring a bit. I like to look in the buildings and stuff, and I've sort of thought about starting up a map for myself."

"What do you mean it's not yours?" she blurted, "It's got your name!"
Aventine's eyes were skimming the horizon quickly and she looked simply delighted at everything she saw. "I mean, I guess it's kinda sad if there aren't cute little animals or people here, I bet they would have stories to tell! There aren't youma here?" she asked, reaching for a hair-tie from her pocket. "I mean, well, wait—you already said not gonna be disturbed. Does that mean there aren't any here?"
She was trying to remain on one topic at a time, but Ida was exploring! Aventine wanted to explore! She wanted something to explore!
"—If you find anything interesting here, you have to tell me! I always wanted to be whisked away to some far-away land and go on magical adventures! I mean—we've got the cute outfits already, let's get to the exploring!"
…Except, her stomach seemed to think that exploring should wait, as it gurgled in such a way that Aventine had to look down at her stomach in dismay, as if wondering if the vicious roar that had torn from her naval was even human.
While she had made it clear what she wanted, her stomach had made clear what it wanted.

Ida couldn't help laughing at Aventine's enthusiasm, delighted so very much that her friend liked her asteroid. It was supposed to be a treat for her, a gift to repay her a little bit for everything she had done for her. It was good to know she liked it!
"There isn't anything here, actually... just some plants. I've looked everywhere and there are just no animals, no bugs, nothing. I've never seen any youma, but I mean... with nothing to feed off of, I can't imagine why there would be." Though, that was a horrible thought... those monsters invading her sanctuary, bleeding their chaos all over this pristine landscape... It made her feel rather fiercely protective of this peaceful place.
"I've found lots of interesting things so far." The young woman said as she turned towards the trees behind them, starting to walk that way with her picnic basket in one hand and the blanket under the other arm. "The trees are actually buildings, if you can believe it. They built everything from plants, or... I guess maybe grew is a better word? I dunno, its hard to tell since I've never really done wood working. There is hardly any metal that I've been able to find. There are somethings that look like they might be computers, but they're so weird, because they're all... like, wood or something. I don't know. Come on... I'll show you, and we can find a place to eat before we really dig into it."
The pair had to trek through the hip deep grass to reach the towering structures, but it wasn't a bad walk. The sun was gentle in its streaming light and there was something of a breeze that rustled the grass around them, revealing the scattering of flowers between the stalks. The best description of the place they were walking into was some kind of fantasy elven city, built in and of trees, with sweeping walkways upwards and between the giants. There were few straight lines, many curves and many archways. It was light and airy, though oddly barren... the trees seemed dead, bereft of leaves and flowers, the wood aged to a silvery gray.
Ida led Aventine up into the first large building, pausing to tug open the large door into the cavernous room inside. The furnishings inside were dust covered, motes dancing in the light from the windows up the walls. Tracks marred the floor, disturbing the centuries of dirt where Ida had walked through here before. It seemed something like a place of business, though the furnishings were comfortable looking and more homey than most places like this on earth.
The senshi spared little time for their surroundings as she drew Ave upwards, spiraling around the inner wall of the tree, passing large arched openings that were balconies until she finally chose one and stepped out onto it. She turned with a smile to her friend, nodding behind her.
"What do you think of the view?" She said. Beyond the intricate railing, the city of dead trees stretched for miles, their branches reaching towards the endlessly blue sky. From this angle, you could just see the meadow off to the side where they had come in.

The more Aventine heard, the faster she walked after Ida; Aventine's imagination was predominantly limited to what was told to her, so everything Ida described was like a world out of some fantastic fairytale. There wasn't a single instant where she wasn't impressed and enthralled by the world surrounding them. Ordinarily she might have complained about the walk, but she enjoyed it—everything about it.
She wanted to spend more time looking and fooling around, but didn't want to lose Ida or keep her waiting—though, she did remind herself that she was going to have to beg Ida to bring her back some time. For some reason, Aventine couldn't imagine a nicer place to take a nap.
"I'm speechless," she replied when Ida asked—an impressive feat for the usually chatty girl. "Ida, I don't even know what to say," she added, moving closer to the railing. "I honestly don't think I've ever seen anything so beautiful. Look," she paused and laughed at herself, reaching up a hand to wipe at one eye. "No, actually—don't look. I'm getting misty eyed just looking at all of it. It feels so nice, so safe. The trees could use a few leaves, but I mean—it's just beautiful. Prettier than anything I've ever seen on Earth."Bluefire Dragonz Sorry about how long this took ;;

The young woman laughed softly at her friend's inability to find words. It made this whole trip worth it, and more.
"I've always found it really beautiful too. I feel incredibly peaceful here. I do wish, like you, that the trees weren't so dead, but... I dunno, I guess grass just comes back faster? I don't know how to tell if the trees are actually dead, or just dormant, and I have no idea how you'd even go about bringing back to life something this huge. Its like those redwoods times, like... ten." She said as she came to lean against the railing, elbows down as she put her chin in her hands. Dark eyes swept over the skyline, wondering at how much more it curved than the horizon on Earth did. Ida was such a tiny planet, really... and when her eyes moved upwards, there was its even tinier moon, floating pale and ghostly in the blue sky.
"There is Dactyl." She said as she pointed at it. "I looked up this asteroid on the internet and that's what it said the moon was called. I wonder... I wonder if there is a senshi for it, like I'm for Ida. That would be pretty cool, wouldn't it? Ida is part of an asteroid family, even... I bet if it were night time we could pick out the others as stars. I've done a little exploration of this building, but there are tons of others we could poke our noses into after we eat."
That was a pretty good reminder of what she had lugged all the way up here and the orchid senshi retreated to open up the basket with its wrapped sandwiches and Tupperware full of sliced fruit. Setting those out on the blanket she had spread, she pulled out a pair of bottles of ginger ale, hoping the generic soda was okay with her friend.
"Um... I have turkey, ham and cucumber. Preferences? I have little packets of, like, mayo and mustard if you like those." She called, her eyes on her hands unpacking things.

Aventine looked up at the moon and huffed, though it sounded like it was supposed to be a happy noise. "Ida! That's so cute, you even have your own moon? Oh my God, I want to be a senshi. I'd be Dactyl. Ugh, so cute," she muttered fondly, lips pursed as she gazed up at the moon.
Her gushing did not last too much longer—not when food was involved. She looked back down at Ida as the senshi set everything up. "Everything," she replied. "I prefer everything. Ida, honey, you don't have to work hard to please me. If you told me that grass was edible on your planet…"
She paused, leaned back, and then reached for a blade of grass sticking to the buckle on her boot. She plucked it, holding it up to her eyes. After a second of examining it, she shrugged. "I'd eat it. Whatever you're eating, whatever's easiest, I'm good. I'm just happy to be taking this trip with you! I didn't know space could be this beautiful! My last space visit was, uhm…"
Memories of Troy flooded her mind and she grimaced a bit before discarding the grass. "…A little less delightful. Interesting! But not like this. Kinda makes me think that maybe I'll have to give Aventine a chance one of these days."
