I usually wear men's clothes, and Wal-Mart specials, and Salvation Army treasures. smile Today, it was my mom's b-day, so we went shopping. I found a little black dress that made me look soooo hot, and a pair of chocolate brown stretch jeans that looked awesome. I was extra happy, cause the dress was marked down from $59.99, to $9.99!!! SCORE!! Where do you find good clothes that fit, that aren't overpriced because they're 'plus sized'?

Cool. A friend of mine gets some of her clothes there. She had a victorian style gown from there, but it got lost in a fire. It was gorgeous though. It was what she wore to her junior prom.

[x]Shopping for clothes is one of the things I hate the most in life.
Therefore, I wear my clothing until it falls apart.
If I'm absolutely forced to go shopping, I'll grab cargo jeans at wal-mart, white wife-beater shirts, and flannel overshirts.
Walmart does tend to have fairly low-priced clothing for us bigger people, which is a good thing. I just get embarrassed when I'm shopping. I refuse to use fitting rooms. If it doesn't fit, I'll bring it back the next day.
Fitting rooms are almost a phobia of mine >.<

I like Lane Bryant too, but most of the time they make pants for overly tall people, and I'm not a giantess. (i wear the petites from there, and I'm 5'7 )

Yeah, I forced myself to look in one of those stupid triple mirrors. Normally that sight would send me flying back out of the fitting room going 'Nonononono!!!' but since it didn't look too bad, for once, I had to buy that dress. that, and being fifty dollars cheaper than it started. xd

I usually shop at Torrid for shirts and Kohl's for pants.. I LOVE their pants.. mainly 'cause they're long enough for me.. it's hard to find that.. since I am 5'11"... Torrid's pants are usually too short on me, which really sucks.. this reminds me, I need to go there for some clothes this weekend 'cause I have some career day/ scholorship interviews.

Suprisingly, Old Navy is the only brand of jeans that fits my rotund rump. They have some really cute clothes, and since I live near an outlet mall they're affordable.
But I HAVE to go to Lane Bryant for my bras. There is no other store in the world that can help me in that department.

Okay, I just looked at Torrid online. They had NOTHING that is actually designed to flatter a larger woman. It may fit, but that doesn't mean it looks good. Any woman with large shoulders should really not wear things that are strapless or have teeny tiny straps that make their shoulders look like they are wearing football pads. Or anything remotely resembling a horizontal stripe. Which is what half to three quarters of their stuff is. It was designed by skinny people, who don't understand the concept that larger women don't want to look 'just like them' , they want clothes that look good on their bodies. Being big is great, but you should still dress to make yourself look as good as you can. If you want to emphasize how big you are, okay, fine. But most of the large women I know, myself included, want to look good by not emphasizing anything other than the color of our hair, eyes or complexion. A wide stripe across my hips does not make me want to buy something from them. It just doesn't look good.
